HT1689 Did not answer security questions correctly
Wanted to purchase ITunes song and iPad would not let me until I answered the two security questions. I thought I answered them correctly however it kept saying that I didn't and now I can't purchase anything.

Hi All,
Sorry for bombarding the forum of late.
I have another issue coming up on this current piece. I have
a set of questions that are able to be answered in a random order
through a grid type layout. A little like jeopardy. The problem
hapens like this: when the learner clicks on the initial Q they
jump to the appropriate slide and answer the question no problem,
and once answered, they jump back to the question grid. This works
fine, unfortunately, when they click the next question they jump ok
but the question displays an error "you did not answer this
question correctly" and they can't click the choices. I believe i
checked and unchecked all the appropriate places, but I am not
sure.
Any advice would be great.

RyanHave you configured your Quiz Settings to allow backward
movement? That's required when the user is not moving forward
linearly.
You should also play with the options in the Required
dropdown in the Quiz Settings until things work as desired. That
seems to control whether Captivate lets you jump over questions or
not, as your random access scheme would require.
I imagine it needs to be set to "Optional - the user can skip
this quiz" but there may be another setting that also works for
your needs.

If you mean that you can't remember the answers to them (they can't be removed, only replaced with new questions/answers), then if you have a rescue email address set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
If you don't have a rescue email address set up then go to Express Lane and select 'iTunes' from the list of 'products' in the middle of the screen.
Then select 'iTunes Store', and on the next screen select 'Account Management'
Next choose 'iTunes Store Account Security' and fill in that you'd like your security questions/answers reset.
You should get an email reply within, I think, about 24 to 48 hours (and check your Spam folder as well as your Inbox) -

Another user had success doing the following:
I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
"done", in the upper right corner
c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
security questions.
d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

My security questions keep changing. I want to change them to questions I choose. I did not choose these questions, nor do I know the answers to all. I recently changed my password successfully, and I wanted to change the security questions and could not.

What I need to know is "how" I can separate or rather create another Apple ID for my son-who is currently using "my Apple ID?" If there is a way to let him keep "all" his info on his phone (eg-contacts, music, app's, etc.) without doing a "reset?') Somehow I need to go into his phone's setting-create a new Apple ID and possibly a new password so he can still use our combined iCloud & Itunes account?
Also then letting me take back my Apple ID & password, but again allowing us (my son and I) to use the same iCloud & Itunes account? Does that make more sense??? I cannot buy music currently as I am being asked to answer security questions due to it being supposedly "the first time I have bought form this PC". This is not the case. I have now changed my password and security questions, but it is asking me the same when I try to buy again.
First off, the name of your computer is only the way it is becuase the Apple user is the first one they created after repairing the Mac. Go into Sharing System Preferences and change the name to whatever you like.
Can you explain how you did this:
This didn't seem right so I went in to it and changed the computer so that it would recognise me as the Owner/Administrator.
You can delete the Apple user in Users & Groups System Prefs. Select that user and delete it. It will ask if you want to save the user data or delete it. If you archive it, you can always delete it later and it will be available if you need to recover that account for some reason--I doubt this will be necessary. After deleting the account, and when you feel you are still working normally, you could delete that archived user folder.
I have also never seen anything ask for that. It does sound like an Epson thing, but without having access to it, I couldn't tell you for sure.
Here's what I would try. Create a new User and give them admin rights. Log in as that user and see what happens with the installer. If it still complains, it is an Epson issue. My guess is it is looking for user id 501, the first user created. If it works, then something is indeed odd about your account. If so, use that new admin account to disable Admin privileges for your account, then re-enable it. This is done in the Users & Groups system prefs. -
I am wanting to buy music from my account..I have had to change my password,which I did. Now it wants me to answer security questions. When I pick the question,it will not allow to type in my answers...I can't even do the rescue message..this is SO frustrating
Read the HT5312 page that you posted from, it has instructions for how to reset them i.e. if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then steps 1 to 5 half-way down that page should give you a reset link.
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.

When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use -

I have done everything the site asks you to do/ reset passwords/ confirm re-send mail and so on BUT the site still does a 360 back to answer security
questions to confirm your identity....that is the point -I do not rememeber the questions and certainly therefore dont remember answers to questions that I am supposed to recall....so what do I do?
