Pop-Ups windows are effectively being blocked in Safari, but some web-sites have updated their sites to open a window when you click on content on their site. This is not a Safari issues it is a web-site issue. I am not sure on how to stop these without stopping other features on the browser. How do I block pop ups on my MacBook Pro - Chrome Browser

Last week I foolishly watched a stupid video on FB.
Ever since I have been getting pop up on my Mac Book Pro.
I use a chrome browser and have deleted all my history and cookies a few times and they still pop up.
It was just one, some sort of pop up telling me I need an app to clean sweep my mac. It didn't look legit so I would always close it out. Now a different type is popping up.

How do you block pop ups that show on the side of the screens?

I recently purchased a new computer with the HD screen. Now I have different advertisements show on the side of the viewing screen and some actually cover part of the viewing screen. I do have the pop up blocker on for Mozilla Firefox. I did not have the problem with this issue on my old computer. How do I get rid of the advertisements from showing on the side of the screen, or showing up at all?

Why won't Firefox block pop-ups even though configured to do so?

I have the browser set up to block pop-ups. It blocks the pop-ups from my bank even though I have repeatedly made that page "allowed" but allows subscription pop-ups on dozens of pages. Nearly all of these sub pop-ups force me to close them to see the page it hides. How can I actually block those annoying actions?
