How do I report my ipod touch stolen?

lost
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
- Apple will do nothing

I have the serial number of my ipod touch.  How do I report it stolen to apple?

You don't. Report it to the police, and your insurer if it would be covered.

  • How do I report an iPod Touch as stolen to Apple?

My Wife's brand new (she'd only had it a couple of weeks) 32GB iPod touch was just stolen (<24 hours ago). We've contacted the local police who are canvassing local pawn shops, but they suggested we report the unit's serial number to Apple as stolen in the event that someone else tries to reactivate it under another name. I can't find anyway to do that on the website - how do we go about this?

  • How do you report an ipod touch stolen?

My ipod touch was stolen by a maid at a hotel i stayed at. Is there a way to report it stolen to Apple without having to look on the actual device for the serial number? I mean, there has to be another way to report it because those who need to report it stolen no longer have access to the serial number!

  • How to block my stolen ipod touch via serial number

can anyone knows how to block my ipod touch 5th gen via serial number ? the one who stole my ipod touch has the capabilities about idevices .. i want atleast to block my stolen ipod for them not to use it or atleast that device is not being a useful one .. sorry for my bad english hope you guys get my point, many thanks in advace .. please suggestions?

You can't block (nor locate) it via the serial number.
If you had Find My iPod enabled on it then you could try locating it either via http://icloud.com on a computer or Find My iPhone on another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPod disabled on it (if it was on iOS 7 as your tagline suggests then Find My iPod should be harder to disable).
You've reported it to the police ? You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

  • How to get back stolen Ipod Touch?

JUST lost my Ipod touch. well I was at the park..we had "practice" today(dancing) & well I brought my brothers. brother was touching it & left it on top of my bag. there were these 2 girls one was bout my age(12) & one was like probably 9? later brother walked home but I stayed awhile then when I was bout to go home I notice it was gone..had a fear they(the girls) took it but also thought my brother took it. so went walking & brother came & I asked if he had it & he said no. went back & asked instructor & others. I trust they wouldn't take it..so one of an older guy friend looked for it but couldn't find it. Instructor said that if he found it he would keep it til I come again. SO I am pretty sure they took it. I have my tracking device on.

  • How to find a stolen ipod touch?

I recently believe my ipod has been stolen. I have the Find my iPhone app, and it's currently not finding the location. I also changed passwords of all my accounts on there already. Is there anything else I can do to try and find it?

    Hi,
Your iPod has to be in range of a strong enough Wi-fi signal in order to be tracked via Find My iPod Touch with MobileMe.  Report it to the police.
    Hope this helps!

i need help in finding my missing ipod touch

If you had Mackeeper installed you would be able to track it. Report it stolen through Mackeeper Anti-theft and it would be located when it went online. Great program. Highly reccomend the program.
err, isn't Mackeeper a computer program only, not a mobile device app?  And even if it were available for a mobile device like the iPod Touch, it suffers from exactly the same limitations as Apple's own find-my-iPod.  All a theif needs do is plug the iPod into iTunes, restore as new, and everything previously installed and set up on the device is wiped out.
Relying on any remote tracking software that requires a data connection is weak security at best.  Even a Mac computer can have the hard drive reformatted and the OS reinstalled if stolen by someone intent on resale, destroying any such tracking software.  With the device in someone elses hands, relying on any software solution to find the device is flawed, as there is almost always going to be a simple way to circumvent the online tracking feature.

  • HT1689 how can i undisable my ipod touch when itunes does not want to connect?

My brother's ipod touch 4th generation was cracked on the screen and was not able to see anything after a while. We finally fixed it and now it says "IPOD DISABLED CONNECT TO ITUNES". We tried connecting it and itunes does not want to connect because it says that the ipod has a passcode and until we unlock it, it will do it. So we our stuck and on top of that, the ipod's power button does not work, so we waited to uncharge the ipod so we can try to connect it again and it still won't do it. We do not know what to do, and we cannot afford to buy a new one. Is there a solutiong for this? Thank You.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • HT1689 How do I report stolen my iPad(s) to Apple?

My wife and I each received an iPad 2 for 2011 Christmas.  Yesterday, they were stolen.
How do I report serial numbers and potentially flag these devices to Apple in an effort to track them?

And for those potential questions, yes, both were activated with the Find my iPhone/iPad feature.
However, they are wifi models, and as long as they are not connected to a WiFi network, they can go in and disable the Find my iPad feature in settings which essentially makes tracking the device impossible.
I wish Tim Cook and the great minds at Apple could come up with a steadfast, foolproof way of finding/tracking stolen items without the ability for the criminals to deactivate this feature.

  • How to locate a stolen ipod touch?

I recently sold an ipod touch via Ebay. The buyer claims she did not receive my ipod inside the untampered box delivered by UPS. She states only the usb cord and gel case arrived. Ebay made a final decision that she is entitled to a full refund. As a result, I am out my ipod touch and the proceeds from the sale. So, how can I track activity on my old ipod? How can I get the serial number off my itunes account? Please help!

Sorry, but there's no way for you to track your iPod at all, much less see any activity from it. You'll need to fight this out with eBay. Perhaps the shipping weight of the box might help in convincing eBay that you shipped the iPod, not just a case and cord, though they may not consider the weight as proof since you could have loaded the box with dead weight. This is unfortunately one of the major problems with selling by eBay. I hope you can resolve something with them, though it doesn't appear likely.
As to the serial number, follow these steps:
Hold down the Control key and choose Help > About iTunes (Windows) or iTunes > About iTunes (Mac).
    Release the Control key.
As the iTunes and QuickTime version information scrolls, you will see the serial number of the last connected iPod.
    Regards.

  • How to find your stolen iPod touch

My 4th generation white 16 GB iPod was stolen and I am wondering if there's a way to find or track it down

If you setup iCloud and enabled Find My iPod on it before it was stolen, you may be able to track it as described here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f2442.  If it was stolen, it' highly unlikely this will work, however, since criminals know how to restore the device, removing your settings, thereby disabling Find My iPod.  Your best bet is to change all your passwords, contact the police and your insurance company.
