Make sure you go into "Settings" on iphone and update things that need updated info, like icloud. Turn your iPhone off and on. Beyond that, good luck. I had to go into Apple store 40 mins away from me, they still didnt fix.

No. Ignore the above post as it is completely wrong, & the poster has no idea what he/she is talking about. By design, an iPhone will sync or manually manage iTunes content with ONE computer at a time. Any attempt to do so with a second computer will result in ALL iTunes content being first erased from your phone, to be replaced with the content from the second computer.

You can only download a track from the iTunes Music Store one time. If you want to have the track on a different computer, you have to copy it there yourself. See:

Itunes thinks ipod is iphone- wont sync

since i have updated itunes to 8.2 i have been having problems. whenever i connect my ipod to the computer it comes up with an error message saying "An iphone has been connected but could not be identified properly". I put the ipod into restore mode and updated it with o.s 3.0. but still same problem. I have tried everything, been on the phone to apple for hours and even restored my computer. Can anyone help me! I have a similar problem - i have an iTouch, i have upgraded iTunes to 8.2.0.23 and the iTouch would noy sync - came up with error message - The iPOD "XXX" cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found.
I have reinstalled iTunes and also upgraded the iTouch from 2.* to 3.0.

Recently got the Iphone 4 as a present, and i've already set it up
but when i plug it onto my computer, it shows on the screen of my iphone its connected to itunes but then itunes tells me to restore the phone to its original settings before i sync it.
i have tried this before and it has still given me the same thing everytime i plug my iphone onto my laptop.
I have also tried uninstalling my itunes and reinstalling it and still its doing the same!

You cannot delete it. It is either on another page, in a folder or you have restrictions set.

Itunes shuts down during iphone 5c sync

When syncing one of our two new iphone 5c's in itunes after it was "restored" from old 1phone 4; itunes shuts down as soon as the APP button in clicked.
All other tabs work, but as soon as the APP button is clicked, itunes shuts down.

You can't have Newsstand hidden in a folder.

PC died and in turn my main iTunes library. iPhone was synced to it. Now when I try to connect to another library it tells me the phone must be wiped clean before I can manage music with new library. Any way around that? Don't want to lose music.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy of your computer to put everything on the new one.
It sounds like you have failed to do this, which is not good at all.
You will have to transfer your itunes purchases from your iphone. Authorize your computer for your itunes account
About iTunes Store authorization and deauthorization
Open itunes, plug in iphone, do NOT sync, click File>Transfer Purchases
When you do sync you will lose your pics ( photo library - synced from your old computer), your itunes content ( music, apps, videos,etc) , your contacts and your calendars. So do NOT sync yet. This is why a backup copy is so important.
Enter one unique contact and calendar entry on your computer.
When you first sync, you should get the option to merger the data. Choose it.
If you want your pics, then you will need to e-mail them to yourself before you sync. They will not be of the original quality as they are reduced when synced to iphone.
When all is as goos as it can be, then backup your computer, and always maintain the backup.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

There is no Info tab in Mavericks

Cannot sync iPhone as apps were deleted when it was connected to iTunes. Now cannot upload music. What should I do?

My iPhone was connected to my computer and to itunes. I deleted apps from my iPhone directly, when it was connected. Now I am unable to sync my iPhone.
When I try and sync, it goes through the process then a message appears:
" iTunes cannot sync apps to the iPhone because the apps installed on the iPhone could not be determined."
On the 'apps' tab in iTunes, a list of 13 apps appears, when I now only have 6 on my phone.
This is stopping the iPhone syncing fully, and I want to upload all my music to the phone.
Does anybody have any idea what I could do? I am reluctant to add all the apps again as soem I have to pay for, and one, Post Secret is no longer available.
