HT1689 I don't want to download music on my iPad. Is there a way to keep that from happening?

I need to update the iOS but don't want the music to download onto my iPad. Is there a way to do this?

I thought my computer could easily act as a main station between these two devices.
It can and it will. You will have to sync with iTunes again but this time you will want to uncheck the radio button for Autofill and then select the playlist, albums, artists or whatever you use in iTunes and the sync again.
Connect the iPad, launch iTunes, select your iPad on the left side, click on the Music Tab on the right at the top, uncheck the Autofill button, select your music, and then click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
