Yes, your mobile provider will be able to give you a number you can call. Once there, you have to enter your mobile number and security code.
In normal times - (when you have not forgotten your iPhone), you should know this as it is also useful when travelling etc.

Indeed they can. They would use their iCloud (APpleID) login under Settings - FaceTime. They can contact you using either your phone number or email.

Thank you for your reply, I did go to my general settings, but for some odd reason I don't have a restrictions setting, or a reset setting. I thought I could reset all the setting to see if it could be that, but as I said there aren't any.
My husband also has the iPad 2, and also did the software update and hasn't had any problems at all. I took both iPad's and compared the settings thinking maybe there could be a setting that could have been changed when the update was done.

I don't have an iPhone. My friend does and we have been texting for 6 months and havn't had any problems. All of a sudden I cannot get her text messages. She revieces mine but i cannot recieve her's. I can also text other iPhone users with no difficulty at all.
What is happening?

I would have your friend first do a reset on her iPhone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. Also, SMS is a carrier feature and if she is having trouble, she might want to contact her carrier and have them double check her account provisioning. It might just need a reset on their end.

Find My iPhone is a generic term that is used for this feature regardless of whether it is turned on on an iPad or an iPhone.
If you deleted your iCloud account on your iPad, and have not signed back on to iCloud, then the Find My iPhone feature is turned off, and your device is not protected nor can it be tracked if it is stolen.
Sign back into iCloud on your iPad, and go to Settings>iCloud to turn Find My iPhone back on to remedy this situation, if you wish.
