HT1689 My I pod was stolen and I have the serial number can I somehow trace it?
My kid had his I touch stolen Can I traceit somehow if I have the serial number and his password?
The serial number alone is not useful for Find My iPhone / iPod. It is useful to establish ownership, should you recover the iPod.
You would have had to enable "Find My iPod" in Settings > General.

I just came a across the serial number of my ipod that was stolen at the end of last year and am hoping to figure out what itunes account it is synched to now (or if I can for that matter). Any advice helps!
No, you can't get any such information from a serial number.

My i pod 5 got stolen and i have the serial number can i track it down?
My i pod got stolen and i have the serial number and people have said that you can track it down by that.
You can't.
Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). If any passwords are associated with a bank or any other savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself. This requires action before the device is lost/stolen. If the device has significant personal information, it should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries. -

my ipod touch was stolen and i need the serial number but i dont have the paper work or the box, so how do i get the serial number?
If you registered it, Apple can help you. Give them a call.

The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief. All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."

My Ipod was stolen and I need the serial number. How can I get this?

My ipad was stolen but I have the serial number.
How can I track it and how can I register my new one?If they haven't already wiped it and started over, and you activated Find my iPhone on your iPad, you might be able to track it. If you did not activate Find my iPhone, you will not be able to track it. Apple will not help you. But, you should immediately go and change your Apple ID password, and any other passwords you use for accounts like Twitter, Facebood, Mail, Apps you make purchases with, like the Starbucks Mobile App, etc.

I did not know about iCloud until after my iPad2 was stolen but I know the serial number so is there any hope the thief can be tracked when he or she logs in to the Apple store etc? thanks
iOS devices cannnot be tracked or located with just the serial number. Unless you shared your Apple ID and password with anyone, then your account cannot be accessed at the iTunes Store.

If your iPod was the last device that you connected to and synced with your iTunes library, there is a chance you might be able to get the serial # to show up in the Device Connectivity diagnostic report. See here for instructions on running this test.
iTunes for Windows: Device Connectivity Tests
If you have previously registered the device with Apple, you can view it's serial # in your list of devices you have registered under your Apple ID.

What To Do If Your iDevice Is Lost Or Stolen
iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if it is connected to the Internet by Wi-Fi or cellular. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:

I have the original box with the serial number on it, but it is no longer protected under the AppleCare plan. I don't have any of the GPS or MobileMe apps installed on it, but was wondering if there was a way that you could still recover it. Also is there a way to make it so that if someone plugs it into their computer, it won't work?
Without having already set up the FindMyiPod feature there is nothng you can do to locate the iPod. Apple can't help either. Thereis no way to prevent someone from restoring your iPod to factory defaults/new iPod and using. Report it to the police and change the passwards for all accounts used on the iPod. it.

How would I find this? I need it for the police report so if I could get answers soon that would be great, thanks

Consider using this site: http://www.stolenlostfound.org/
This is Apple's official word on the subject:
Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product
If you have lost or found an Apple product, please contact your local law enforcement agency to report it. Although Apple does not have a process to track or flag lost or stolen product, you can use My Support Profile to find a list of serial numbers for items purchased or registered with your Apple ID. -

my iphone was stolen and i want the serial ?
The serial number is embedded in the iTunes on the computer to which you originally sync'd the iPhone.

My iPhone was stolen and I have the IMEI and serial number. Will I still be able to find it?
Thanks. Yes. But somehow it's already turned off by the thief. I am just hoping he goes to an area with free wifi to transmit the lost phone mode. I'm giving it a few weeks and i hope that the new iOS 7 function will work. That they won't be able to reset my phone without my apple id & password. I just wish I downloaded the app iHound before.
Oh and I called up our national telecommunications commission and they'll be able to disable my phone's function through my IMEI. -
I have a DVD Acrobat Pro 9. I upgraded laptops and trying to install but the DVD is not readable. How can I get a new DVD or Download Acrobat Pro 1. The product is registered and I have the serial number. PS: Contacting Adobe on this issue is impossible... direct support stinks.
Download AA 9 Pro from http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html. Make a new backup for your archive. You might also take the DVD to your library to see if it is a drive problem. You might also carefully clean the DVD with water and soap (do not use anything that would scratch the surface or you have destroyed it for sure) and see if that solves the problem. This is particularly an issue if you have finger prints or other crud on the DVD. However, it could also be a bad drive as I mentioned. Hopefully the download solves your problem in any case (I would backup the download to CD and/or backup HD).
