HT1689 security questions iTunes is asking me to login
I am trying to login to iTunes to purchase music. It is asking me to answer two security questions to enable me to login. I never remember providing answers for these questions in the first place. It is also saying that it is asking me this because this is the first time we purchased from this computer. That is not accurate.
Anyway, how do I reset those security questions or just get past that so I can purchase?
Thanks!
Jim

Hello Abe retrieve answers to security questions itunes account knowing I do not have an alternate email
You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

i knew my password ID put i forgot my security question and its ask me every time about it
Follow the instructions on the page that you posted from, they should let you reset them i.e. if you have a rescue email address set up on your account then steps 1 to 5 half-way down that page should let you reset them.
If you don't have a rescue email address then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use -
When you forget your security questions and they ask to send an email to another account to recover the security questions ...how do you change that email?
You won't be able to change your rescue email address until you can answer your questions, you will have to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT5699
If your country isn't on that page then try this form and explain and see what they reply with : https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html
When they've been reset you can then update your rescue email address for potential future use : http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201356
Or if it's available in your country you could change to 2-step verification : http://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT5570 -
I forgot answers to security questions itunes support is useless I need to talk to someone on the telephone is there a number to call
If you don't have a rescue email address as described on the page that you posted from then you can contact iTunes Support / Apple in the country where you and your account are based via this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699

Another user had success doing the following:
I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
"done", in the upper right corner
c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
security questions.
d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.
Good Luck friends! -
If you think this is truely security..really..it asks for two favorite consumer products and a city you romanticize, and wants your other email info. Thats data mining.
Mind you, does your employer want to know what "car" and "city" and "album" you made out to for net security? My favorite teacher as well?
These "security" questions appear to be data mining or vague personal info that anyone that graduated from high school with me would know. I contacted my State Attorny General. Answering any of them would actually put my account at risk.
I love my itunes. I guess my consumer loyality has done nothing. And I really have no other choice of practical products to replace it with. I have a question itunes..are we walking up to the edge of anti-trust laws?

You can give the iTunes folks direct feedback on the issue if you like. Here's a link to the iTunes product feedback form:

can someone plz help me i really dont want to buy things accdentilly
The security questions come up only if there is some doubt about your identity. For example if you try to log in with the wrong password, the security questions are brought up to confirm that you are who you claim to be.
Security questions will not, and cannot, protect you against accidentally hitting the Buy Now button. -
I forget the answer of the security questions and icant buy from apple store and i cant use my apple gift card , what can i do

Yosemite iTunes keeps asking me to Login several times a day
Hello All,
ever since upgrading to Yosemite last year on my Mac-Mini.
iTunes asks me to Login every time I Boot-Up, and then repeatedly several times throughout the day!
And these Logins always have to be done twice each time. (The Pop-Up window takes my password, then Pops-Up again empty so I have to write it again!).
This is really starting to get on my nerves.
Is there anyway I can Login to iTunes & stay logged in, like all my other apps? (i.e. iCloud etc.).
Thank you in advance for any suggestions on remedying this annoying situation!
Much appreciated!!!Hi all,
this is continuing to happen, but a little bit of an update. I tried a couple of fixes mentioned in the thread that discussed having the iTunes Store app crash.
1) Checking the cookies settings in Safari - mine was set to the recommended setting
2) Launching iTunes, then tapping the "Store" button
My issue seems to be in actuallu connecting to my iTunes account, which seems a common factor in some of the posts here.
I have verified that I am logged into Game Center, that I am logged into iCloud and that I am logged into the Store via the settings app. However, it often asks me to log in again. Sometimes twice in a row. I have seen error messages "Can't Connect, try again?" and seen it accept the entry and disapear.
Any suggestions will be DEEPLY appreaciated. Thank you! -
the security window pops up everytime we try to do anything. I didnt set up this security window and have no idea what the password might be. How do I rid myself of this window the security isnt needed
