I cannot keep calendar events - how do i change this , it should be so simple.

If you normally sync to your computer via iTunes there is a setting in iTunes for how many days back you keep calendar events.
If you don't normally sync to your computer I'm not sure if there is a way to keep calendar events around longer.

This is an absurd and EXASPERATING glitch that APPLE NEEDS TO FIX IMMEDIATELY!!! I'm starting to hate the iPhone and Apple in general when I continuously experience HUGE glitches like this that have a profound impact on what you're trying to accomplish within a feature that you DEPEND on... yet Apple has "never heard of that problem before". You suck, Apple. Don't send your problems out into the real world, to users who just gave you $800 for another glitchy piece of equipment that never solves your software issues.

I use Outlook 2010 on a Windows machine at work. On my MacBook I use Outlook 2011 and have the Exchange calendar configured for iCal. Sync'ing works fine, except this one annoyance.
Since upgrading to Mountain Lion copies of existing, repeating calendar events keep appearing in my Outlook drafts folder. Every few days I have to empty it, sometimes from 50 event copies or more.

I too, was experiencing this. There seems to be no indication of a solution anywhere on the web. HOWEVER, I figured it out.
Here's the solution: Strangely, it's not really an exchange issue, but rather an issue with calendaring on the OSX side.
So you understand, here's the configuration that can cause problems:
you are using an exchange server to connect your email/calendar/notes/tasks...
You use a PC (or VM PC) for some/most of your exchange/outlook activities
You may or may not have MS Office 2011 (Mac) installed.
You have one or more Apple devices connected to your exchange account (iPhone, iPad, any Mac)
After installing Mountain lion, you start noticing events being magically duplicated every few minutes in your outlook draft folder. If you delete an event, another one takes its place.
HERE IS THE FIX:
Short answer: Sync all calendars on all devices
On the apple side (OSX, IOS) you MUST turn on calendar sync in all the exchange accounts on all your devices. I thought I had, then discovered that my MS Office Outlook on my Mac was missing that sync. It doesn't seem to matter which apple device is missing the sync, it only takes one of them. Once you set calendar sync to "on" for all the apple devices that access that calendar, just like magic, the phantom multi event creation stops.
You should check all MS products on the OSX/IOS devices AND all apple devices that allow syncing. I haven't turned on notes sync through the cloud, so that isn't one of the items that cause problems.
If you do this and the multi still appears, you missed something on one of your apple devices.

On your iOS devices, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Sync (in the Calendars section) and set this to All Events.
Not sure about your Mac. Try going to icloud.com, opening your calendar, clicking on the gear icon on the lower left and choose preferences, then on the Advanced tab make sure you haven't checked Hide Events next to Old Events.

Is there any particular reason you need this feature? It is pretty hard to do it accidentally as you will need to press the X as well as the Delete prompt. Also, if you are syncing withe iTunes, you can reload it onto your iPod Touch without having to download it again. I can't recall if the app's previous settings/high scores are preserved if you remove then restore it.

The calendar however, is not easy to use.

I'm trying to do this very thing. I have multiple google calendars set up (one for each kid, my husband etc.). I want to move to iCal exclusively. Based on your note above, should I export each individual calendar within ical. Remove each from the iCal account and then reimport then into ical? I suppose the risk is low b/c the data still exists in google.
Please advise - I would hate to misstep. Very new to the apple world (aside from iphone / ipad).

To set up CalDAV support for Google Calendar in Apple's iCal, follow these steps:
Open Apple iCal, go to Preferences and then the Accounts tab.

Basically, if your client does not have a Mac then don't use iWeb to create the site. iWeb is Mac only and if a client wishes to make alterations, then they need the domain file.
If your client needs to update on a weekly basis, then why not consider using one of the online website creation packages where you can log in from any Mac or PC. This would be simpler and there are lots out there - Microsoft Office Live or Google or something like http://www.wix.com where you can create a site and use a domain name with it.
Look at the alternatives before using iWeb.
