HT1692 I have 2 phones on 1 iTunes account. Can I separate the contacts

I have 2 phones on 1 iTunes account. Can I separate the contacts

it's meant to work like that
so if you receive a message on your iphone you also get it on your ipad or ipod touch
to avoid it use separate appleID for each device
or turn off imessage on 1 or both devices in their settings
but that will not fix the issue that 2 devices using the same appleID will never be able to facetime eachother
the appleID is a unique handle for 1 user only

    No, that isn't possible.

  • Iam using 2 different i phones on the same itunes account, Can I keep the contacts seperate with syncing?

I have one itunes account and am using 2 iphones, is it possible to keep all the "contacts" seperate from the two devices, so that I dont have to have all of my husbands contacts in the phone book?  Or do I have to use 2 different itune accounts?

Your contacts are not part of your iTunes library.  iTunes only syncs contacts with your phone from a supported program such as Outlook or mac Address Book.  If you are trying to sync you contacts to the same program they will be merged.  You could, however, set up two contact groups within Outlook, one for your contacts and one for his.  Both groups would still besynced to both devices but you wouldn't have to look at the contact group you weren't interested in.  Another option would be for one of you to continue to sync with iTunes with, for example, Outlook and the other sync contacts with another service such as Google or iCloud (be sure to uncheck Sync Contacts on the Info tab of the the iTunes sync settings for this phone).

  • Since I have an iPhone and iTunes account can I open a me account or am I outa luck?

Since I have an iPhone and iTunes account can I open a me account or am I outa luck??

By "me" do you mean a MobileMe account?  If so, then you can't as MobileMe is going to be terminated at the end of June.  What you should look at is an iCloud account.

  • I have 2 ipad2s on one account. can i share the apps purchased rather than having to purchase same app for each.  I am only user.

I have 2 ipad2s on one apple/itunes account.  can i share the apps purchased rather than purchase the same apps for each ipad2
    . i am only user.

.... And you can put them on as many iDevices as you own. There is no limit as long as you use the same Apple ID and iTunes account for all of the devices.

  • Hi, I have lost my iphone but i have its backup in itunes, how can i restore my contact/sms using itunes or is there any other way, please help

Hi, I have lost my iphone but i have its backup in itunes, how can i restore using itunes or is there any other way for this
    please suggest

You can restore that backup to a replacement iPhone, if that's what you're asking. If you want to extract data from the iPhone backup, you'll need third-party software to do so:

  • HT1535 Once I have songs in mt ipod, How can I separate the songs into folders?

Once I have songs in my IPod, how can I separate them into folders such as favorites, etc.?

That sort of thing is best done in iTunes. And by "folders", I assume you mean Playlists.
In iTunes, you can create Playlists and then sync those to your iPod. The music will still be listed by artist, album etc,. but if you go into the Playlists menu, you will see the songs grouped by Playlists, according to your choices.
As you mentioned favourites; on your iPod you can give a song a star rating, from one to five stars. It's possible to create a Smart Playlist in iTunes which will automatically add (for example) three, four and five star rated songs to a Playlist, but not the songs with no rating or just one or two stars.
So if you were listening to a song and decided there and then to give it a four-star rating, then at the next Sync with your iTunes Library, that song would be added to your Smart Playlist which is then also included on the iPod. (In theory, it should go into that Playlist on your iPod without connecting to your iTunes Library, but that doesn't always work.)

  • My wife and I have separate itunes accounts, can I merge the two

My wife and I have seperate accounts, is there a way I can merge the two or have them recongnized as being linked so she can use the itunes match account I set up.

No, sorry, you cannot merge iTunes Store accounts. She can connect her devices to your iTunes Match account, but she'll have to use your Apple ID and password and, to the best of my knowledge, content she purchased via her own iTunes Store account will not be included, though I'm not certain about that.
    Regards.

  • I have a U.S. iTunes account, can I also use U.K. or French iTunes stores?

I found some songs on the iTunes French store that I want to buy but it will not let me. Is there a way to do this? Can I set up a separate account for French purchases? Also interested in the English iTunes store. Thanks

Unless you can show some form of residency you cannot buy from another country's store. The question on cross store purchasing is asked frequently so I'll just quote the most complete answer (courtesy of Dave Sawyer) from the many given:
In order to buy from any given country's iTunes Music Store, you must have either:
    a) a credit card with a billing address in that country, or
    b) a mailing address in that country and a gift certificate or a prepaid card that was bought in that country.
If you cannot fulfill one of these two sets of conditions, you will not be able to purchase from any given country's iTMS.
.......this is due to restrictions placed on Apple by the record companies and other rights holders (who are often completely different from country to country and so all require their own individual negotiations and contracts), not by Apple's choice. And this also applies to all the legal download stores that carry major-label content, not just the iTMS.

  • If I have money on my iTunes account, can I transfer some of it to another account??

My aunt recently was given a $50 iTunes card in which she is going to put into her account. She wants to give me $20 of it..is that possible?
I am aware that you can email iTunes cards to friends with a credit card, but can she give me half of her card if it is already in her account??
    Thanks :)

    No, that isn't possible.

  • If I make a new iTunes account, can I transfer the money from my old account into a new one?

    _

No. Gift card money can't be transferred to another iTunes Store account or used to buy gifts.

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps? e.g. log in on another device, reset password etc.
