HT1693 Can I save the ringtones I have on my iphone 4 and transfer to my iphone 6?
I have several ringtones from songs on my old iphone 4. Can they be transferred to my iphone 6 plus?
I would recommend updating iTunes to v11 if you havent done so.
On previous versions (if I recall correctly), it was simply File>Transfer Purchases from "example's iPhone" or Right clicking on the device from the side bar.

A whole bunch of issues here.
I can't install any software. It started when iPlayer stopped working at all. This led me to try to update software versions such as Adobe Air to 3.5 (Failed) then quicktime player 7.6.6 as recommended (Failed) then the printer packed up and I have tried to install the downloaded software drivers for Canon from the Apple site (Failed again)
In all cases they let me download so I have the file, but not install.
Quicktime tells me it can't install a file "/var/folders/15....then a long string of numbers....ending in T//install.1347YKihUc".
The Canon Print Driver has a very similar message.
Adobe Air says "An error occurred whilst installing....contact my administrator" which is me and I am fine with it ;-)
Remember this all started because my iPlayer (and my printer) just stopped working and I have been trying to fix those.
I am a bit techy but not much.
Can anyone assist?

Fozzie65I have Firefox 3.6.6, and now that Firefox 4.0 is available, it crashes constantly. Sometimes less than 5 minutes after I open it. I have a Mac 10.4.11, so Firefox 4.0 isn't an option for me. When I asked Ff to check my plug-ins it said there was an error and to check back later. Twice.
Because I didn't have any (any) problems with my Ff before the upgrade became available, I am forced to question if Ff has done something to make the earlier version crash so you'll upgrade, but I can't afford to upgrade my Mac right now.
In the meantime, I do need a browser that works! I dislike Safari, Chrome is also not available on Mac 10.4.11, and Explorer is just plain not available on Mac.
Do you have any suggestions on how to fix my Firefox 3.6.6?

Yes, you can install several Personas. The first one will not be lost until you remove it yourself.
You can remove and switch themes and Personas in Tools>Addons>Themes. -

Please have a look at the POINT portlets. most of them are based on external apps. That could give you a fair enough idea of how to go about with your designs.

I'm having trouble with custom ringtones. I have downloaded the free software "makeTones" and have created some ringtones. I then copied those to Mac and played them in ITunes. My Itunes library does not have a ringtones tab. I can not sync the ringtones (or I don't know how)! Please help.
Yes, the file extension is M4R. Does it matter where I save these files on my Macbook? I then opened them in Itunes and played them. I did find the Tones folder in Itunes but the Tones or Ringtones tab does not show up when I select Iphone (within Itunes). When I open the Tones folder in the Library, it is empty. I have been trying to save a document in illustrator and every time I try to, a dialog box pops up and says the following- Can't save the illustration. You do not have enough access privileges. id: -5000....This has been happening ever since I switched to CC and whenever I try to save something in indesign, I get a dialog box that says that my file is corrupt. How do I fix this? I cannot get any work done !!!

I have a keynote presentation that includes a significant amount of video. When I edit the keynote slides (not the video slides) how can I save the changes without re-saving the videos (because that takes a VERY long time)? I edit the presentation depending on the audience to which I am presenting.
If you add a new slide with just a text box (therefore a very small amount of data), to an existing presentation then save, Keynote will only save the new content to the file, it wont save pre-existing content as its already included in the file.
The time taken to "save" will be very much shorter than a "save as" when all of the existing content is saved again. -

Could you confirm that when you re-open the sorted album, the display order on the top bar just over the browsing space is still in 'album' order ? That order may have been changed to a date order. For me, I get the order of the last album I opened, not necessarily the 'album' order of the present album.

Everytime I try to print a doc from word.mac it tells me that it can't save the file because I don't have permission then closes the file. What do I do to change this?
If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.

I get the same message when using Numbers so I presume it is a OS problemSome of your user files (not system files) have incorrect permissions or are locked. How can I save the .mp4 files downloaded from internet to ipad memory so that I don't have to download everytime to view them again. Also they might remove them from internet so I can't rely on the bookmark to them.
I'm trying to send home movies to my 10 year old nephew who lives across the country. He doesn't have a computer. He has an iPod touch. His parents have computers. But I don't want everything I ever try to have him do result in "you need your parent's computer for this." It's getting really embarrassing. I have converted my family over to Apple computers but now they want to buy iPhones, iPads, and iPods even though I tell them to go Android. It took a decade to convert them away from windows now I'm trying to keep them away from these freedom limited iOS devices and they won't listen. Then it becomes my responsibility to make their iPads print to their fancy pre-airprint color laser jet printers, get home movies onto them, and countless other things. It's driving me nuts.
I have converted these files to a format that the iOS devices will play directly off of dropbox. Now, how do I get the infernal devices to save it instead of play it? -

Even though the downloads are for the same iOS version number, they are different downloads and you can't use an iPod iOS update to update an iPhone or iPad etc. The iPad 1 and iPad 2 are also different downloads. So you will need to download different updates for your iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad 1 and the iPad 2.

The query 'select * from v$sgastat' showed that there is a shared pool free memory of 80MB. I read that a high value of free memory is a symptom of fragmentation. If that's also in my case, how can I defragment it? (I'm assuming that this has nothing
