HT1694 my mail keeps saying "the connection to the server has failed" help!
how do i fix this?
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally.
If that doesn't help then try a reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
Still no joy, contact your email service provider to make sure there is no service disruption on their end.

I have two Ipad 2's. They were both IOS4. I successfully upgraded one to IOS6. When I did the second one, when I got to the end of the process where it asks for your AppleID it kept saying there was a problem with the server. Same desktop, same AppleId for both Ipads, but it wouldn't let me sign in. What can I do to fix this?
hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music' then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

My I phone keeps repeatedly coming up with:
Cannot connect to the store. A secure connection could not be established. Please check your Date & Time settings"
What does this mean and how do I fix this as I am trying to update my apps and they have stopped at the 'waiting' status as it cannot connect meaning I cannot use my apps.

Also, besides the time and date being correct make sure the time zone is also correct. Also, if yo have iOS 5, make sure date&Time is set to Automatic. -
Ipad 2 keeps saying cannot connect to the server when i put in my facebook password
All the new updates made my ipad 2 not work well and hesitate so I cleared off all content and reset all settings and then downloaded all current updates. I now get a message every time I open my ipad 2 that says Log into Facebook. I do that with the correct password under settings and then get the ERROR: "CANNOT CONNECT TO THE SERVER" All is good on both my iphone and Mac book Air

Have you tried rebooting your router - unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again - or temporarily disabling your firewall or anti virus software?
Restart or reset the iPad?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

I keep getting an error pop-up when I try to access my email. The pop-up says Cannot Get Mail The connection to the server failed. I get this pop-up on both my iPhone 5 and my iPad. I can still access my email, but the pop-up is real annoying. Can someone please help me with this? -Stu

It sounds like you're seeing an alert message when opening Mail on your iOS devices. Do you have multiple email accounts setup on the devices? My Yahoo email asks me daily for my email password or says the connection to the server failed. Is anyone having this problem currently? I noticed old messages in chat mentioned the same problem. I get into my Yahoo email fine on my desktop computer for several weeks without re entering a password. But the IPad does not seem to be connecting daily with Yahoo without putting a password in again.
So, I didn't change anything and now it is working better. I still get the odd error though.
I have a feeling this has something to do with the SSL update Apple released and it was their server side. -

Hi please help I have an Iphone 3 G S it is using the 5.1.1 ios upgrade which it has had for sometime although there was a minor update last evening ? My phone worked fine until arround 1 pm today then it stopped getting mail from my hotmail account along with the hotmail I am not longer able to see any updates to my calendar and most of my contacts have dissapeared. I have tried reconfiguring the hotmail account, deleating it, and putting it back on, and changing the password but none of these has worked. I know hotmail is working from my computer and it also working from another app I downloaded to the phone just now ( mail pro) but it still says connection to the server has failed?

I've been working on our church website and all of a sudden this week, my computer will not connect to the site. I keep getting a message saying that the the connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can fix this?
