HT1694 Windows Live Mail with iPad /iPhone

I have setup my email acct on my iPad and iPhone and receiving messages however only inbox showing on both devices, unable to view sent items or deleted.  Using Windows Live Mail with Win8 on laptop and also only viewing inbox only. Would appreciate help.

I agree with the information supplied by Nachos Libres. If you really have a POP mail, let me add something.
I used in the past a POP mail service and I remember I could set some of the mail programs to download the mail but leave it on the server. Remember I did it on the MacBook and on a Cellular Phone (before iPhone). In this way I was sure to leave all mail on the server and to find them on the iMac which was setted to delete the mail from server after download.
I have no more POP and I cannot tell you if you can setup iMac iPhone and iPad to leave mail on the server. This way of leaving copy on gthe server could also be a feature which is allowed or not by the server.... or if Mail.app does not allow it you could try a different mail program. Of course this makes sense only if your provider does not allow the use of an IMAP sistem.
Try to find out yourself but, if this way is possible, remember to setup one computer to delete the mail after download or you will fill your mail box in a short time.

  • Synching windows Outlook 2007 with iPad/iPhone

I need to transfer my contacts/calendar from my iPad to a new Windows laptop running Outlook 2007. These contacts/calendar were stored previously in old laptop that died. Can someone give me the correct settings in iTunes when I first synch iPad with new laptop to bring them all over? Thanks

Here's the solution provided by Risco in the iPhone 3GS forum. It's the only one that I found that works for exactly the same problem on both the iPhone 3GS and the iPad. I might add that I was also getting two other error message every time I connected to iTunes ("Mobile Sync stopped working," and "Yahoo Go Sync stopped working").
    Here it is (for Windows):
Go to Program Files ( x86 if using 64 bit )
    Open Common Files
    Open Apple
    Open Apple Application Support
    Copy the Sqlite3.dll
    Go to the windows folder
Open system32 if on 32bit, or syswow64 if on 64bit
    Find the sqlite3.dll
Rename it to sqlite.dll.bk (if none there, go directly to Paste step below)
Paste the new one in there
Open iTunes and it should sync everything fine and no errors!

  • Cannot send mail through Windows Live Mail with 3rd party email address

I know this problem has been thoroughly discussed, and I basically understand it. I  must change my outgoing port to 587 on my two non-Verizon email accounts that I pull into Microsoft Mail along with my Verizon mail. One of the accounts is my web site email with Network Solutions, and one is an email address through Onebox.com.
When I used port 587, neither worked to send email through Outlook Express or Windows Mail. I called Onebox. and was told to use (for them) port 465, which did not work to send, either.
I have not called Network Solutions yet. I did call Verizon Support, however, and the support person tried to find the solution. Finally, he told me I need to call Onebox again (and Network Solutions).
I am just checking to see if there is something I missed that anyone knows of. I would really like to consolidate my mail on my computer...it will be complicated if I cannot.
    Thank you,
    Laurie Bishop

What error did you get when you tried port 465?

  • Synchronise windows live mail with Nokia C3110 pho...

    Hi
    Is this now possible?
    Teka

Go to marketplace and log-in. This is your Microsoft account which is then linked to your email. At least this is my assumption. By the way for software/service related questions on a Nokia Lumia, I would ask Microsoft Community …
With Lumia, Nokia is the hardware partner. Plus several apps which Nokia added. These question belong here, of course.

  • Iphone 3GS - windows 7 - syncing problems with windows live mail

I brought a new iphone 3gs last week and tried to sync it with my new dell PC running windows 7 (with windows live mail).
It wouldnt sync, so I read the forums and reset the sync history through itunes.
This worked, and synced my iphone to the computer. It appears to have backed up all my contacts on the iphone to somewhere on the PC (cant find where) but it hasnt copied the contacts from windows live mail to the iphone
    Have I confused anyone??

have you tried using imap instead?
if you can access your email from the web page then sounds more like a problem with windows live mail and not your BT account

  • Syncing Ipad mail to Windows Live Mail on a Dell Laptop

I am trying to sync my boss's email through his multiple devices for him. He has an Ipad, an Iphone and a Dell Laptop. He has set up the email account (which is an imap account) on all the devices and it works from all of them. However, if he sends an email in one, it does not appear in the sent folder on a different device. How do I get the mail to sync so that every sent/received mail is visible from all the devices?
Also on a different matter, he also has an old pop3 account. Is it possible to change it to an IMAP account without losing the email address? Would I have to delete it and start again?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Actually I don't have any problems with mails and calendars as both of them work back and forth with Windows Live Mail and IPad.
The problem is only with contacts.  Once a new contact is created in my IPad it does not go in my Windows Live contact box.
    Thanks

  • Windows Live Mail not connceting with BT email

    Hi
After 11 weeks trying to get help from BT I managed to get my BT email working, sort of. The problem I'm left with is that Windows Live Mail will not connect to it, an error message of user or password not recognised appears. I've read various messages on the internet but still have had no success. My Windows Live settings are as follows:
    Servers
    My incoming mail server: POP3
    Incoming mail: mail.btinternet.com
    Outgoing mail: mail.btinternet.com
Email username: [email protected]  (have tried this with the part before the @ also)
Password: xxxxx (Password working on BT email)
Log on using clear text authentication
    Advanced
    Server port numbers:
Outgoing mail: 465 with SSL ticked
Incoming mail: 995 with SSL ticked
Any idea what is wrong? Should I go back to BT about this when incoming and outgoing mail is working using BT email? Thanks for any help
    Goggs

I use the following settings on Windows Live Mail with BTMail on Windows 7
    Open your Windows Mail
Go to Tools > Accounts > Properties
Check in user Information that you have entered your name and the full email address. Tick the box “include this account when receiving mail etc”
    Click the Servers Tab
My incoming mail server is POP3
    Incoming mail (POP3) mail.btinternet.com
    Outgoing mail (SMTP) mail.btinternet.com
    Incoming Mail server:
Email username: Prefix of your email address
    Password: (your normal email password)
    Tick the box “remember password”
Tick “log on using secure authentication”
    Outgoing Mail Server:
Tick box “my server requires authentication”
Click on the button “Settings” ensure that it is using “use same settings as my incoming server”
There are no changes in the “Connection” or “Security” tabs so ignore them.
    Click on the “Advanced” tab
    Server Port Numbers
    Outgoing (SMTP) 465
Tick box “requires secure connection (SSL)
    Incoming (POP3) 995
Tick box “requires secure connection (SSL)
    Delivery:
Tick the box “leave copy on server”
Click OK and close the mail down.

  • Syncing contacts from Windows Live Mail

I have just bought a new ipad and am trying to sync my contacts from Windows Live Mail. I have found a previous post detailing what to do bit I get to a certain stage in the instructions and can't get any further. Here is the answer I found:
If you are using Windows Live Mail (online version) with Windows 7, here's what I did.  Hope it helps someone.
Before you do the following steps, in Windows Live Mail, export your contacts as a CSV file and save it where you can easily locate it.
    1.      Click on the little WINDOWS Ball in the lower left-hand corner of your screen (this is the same as clicking START).
    2.      Type WAB in the search box.  The first thing that comes up SHOULD BE a file called WAB.EXE. Double-click so it opens up—it may or may not be empty. This file is NOT the same file as the windows live file so don’t worry about overwriting anything.
    3.      Click IMPORT at the top of the screen.
    4.      Select CSV, then click IMPORT again.  It will ask you to find the file you want to import.  Find the backup you made.
    5.      Once it’s done importing, you should see all your contacts.
    6.      Plug in your Apple device—iphone/ipad.
    7.      iTunes will launch automatically.  Give it a minute to completely load etc.
    8.      At the top of the screen you will see: SUMMARY INFO APPS MUSIC MOVIES TV SHOWS etc. etc.
    9.  Click on INFO
    10.  You will see ‘SYNC CONTACTS WITH’. Make sure there is a check in the box and that after ‘with’ you see WINDOWS CONTACTS. If you don’t see WINDOWS CONTACTS, click on the drop-down menu and select it.
    11.  Then click on SYNC at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen and let it run.
    12.  That’s it!
    14.  To sync another device repeat steps 6-12
I got as far as number 9 where I clicked on INFO and it showed SYNC CONTACTS with some text, but not SYNC CONTACTS WITH and there were no boxes to check at all. Can anyone shed any light on what I should do next please?

  • Should I use Windows Live Mail or Outlook Express ...

I have always used Windows Live Mail, as it is a very simple and pleasant program to use - great graphics, interface and reminders.
I found Outlook way too fiddly and technical, with a very boring interface and comparatively poor reminders that email has arrived.
However, since getting my E71 setup with Nokia Messaging, I have overcome this for the sake of being able to sync my contacts and messages - Outlook 2007 is now set as my default browser.
This was ok, but now when I use Windows Live Messenger I get email reminders up - and clicking on those takes me into Windows Live Mail.
I just want one, streamlined email/messenger service - one of these email managers must be deleted!
    - Can I sync my E71 into Windows Live Mail instead of Outlook?
    OR
    - Can I replace Windows Live Mail with Outlook 2007, as the email manager used by Windows Live Messenger to open emails?
I want everything done with one email browser!

You can use iCloud Mail with Windows Live Mail, but not Calendars or Contacts.
If you want to use iCloud on Windows download EMClient, you can access the core services (Mail, Calendars and Contacts) using it. Installation and configuration will be manual.

  • Syncing iphone calendar with Windows Live Mail

Hi guys - I just upraded to Windows 7 and I'm looking to see if it's possible to sync the calendar with the Windows Live Mail calendar? I'm thinking the only option at this time is MS Outlook, but just thought I'd ask. I searched and read through 3 other similar questions on here but didn't find any answer, hence the new post. Thanks!

Microsoft copied Google and now supports accessing a Hotmail or Windows Live Mail account as an Exchange account with the iPhone's Mail app. This provides Push access for received messages and for syncing contacts and calendar events over the air with the account on your iPhone.
For syncing calendar events direct with an application on your computer via the iTunes sync process, you need Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010.
I understand your second statement about the needing Outlook - but I'm trying to reconcile it with your first paragraph - there is support for calendar events over the air between Windows Live and iPhone? So it can be done, just not physically through syncing via iTunes?

  • Iphone interface with Windows Live (Mail, Contact and Calendar)

I use Windows Live Free Download Client for my mail, calendar and contacts. (Just did not want to pay Microsoft for Outlook).
My iPhone does not interface with any of the above. I am not able to view my calendar or contacts on iphone. For contacts I have to go in a round about way of copying to Windows Contacts and then copying to iPhone.
Any easy solutions available or in sight ?

Hi, you just need to add your Windows Live Calendar as a new account.  Go to Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/Add Account/Microsoft Hotmail... and then add your Windows Live account and select the option to sync your calendar.  Your Windows Live caldendar will then be viewable on your iPhone calendar (click Calendars in upper left corner to verify).  You can now edit your Windows Live calendar on your iPhone and it will update on your Windows Live desktop client, and vice versa.  Hope this helps!
