Generally when attempting to join the public wifi at a hotel, it requires you to open a browser window to enter the username and password. Is that happening? Since it would affect all of your wifi settings, I'm hesitant to recommend going into Settings, General, Reset, Reset network settings, but that might be necessary. Have you tried to do a reset on the iPhone? Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release?. See if this helps.

If your Mac is new-ish and has one of the Lions as its OS, the drives, cards, USB sticks no longer show up, even though they're there. Go to Finder's Preferences and tick the corresponding items in the General and Sidebar tabs.

I'm trying to connect to my work's VPN. I am connected to the VPN, but I cannot access the server. I keep getting a message that says the server may not exist or is unavailable. I know that’s not the case because my coworkers are connected. Can someone please help me?
I have the same problem. It is only with tv shows and only with programs I have downloaded after the software update.
Apple support sent me the above link too....but it doesn't solve the problem...my computer is authorized and the content is in my library and will play on my Mac air, but it will not sync the tv shows, it keeps saying my computer isn't authorized for it.

I recently had to restore my Iphone 4s and ever since I cannot double click the home button whilst the phone is locked and change my music. The controls come up and I can adjust the volume but I cannot change the songs. Help needed please!!
Have you guys been able to activate your iphone yet? I bought an iphone 4s from eBay and it worked fine, but the previous user had left some data on it, so last night I used the "erased all content and settings" to restore it to factory setting so I can start fresh and restore my backup. But now I'm stuck at the activation screen (I get the same "the activation server is temporarily unavailable") and can't get it to activate, even if I use my old deactivated AT&T sim card (I'm on straighttalk now).
I might try activating it with an active AT&T sim card from my fiancee's phone when she gets home, so I'll let you know how that works outs.
If it's true that the server is down; anyone know when it will be back up again? Thanks in advance.

Hi, any one knows how to fix my problem? my iphone 4 is connected to my wifi home network. When I use the appstore it says "cannot connect to itunes store". when I use safari "safari cannot open page because it is not connected to the internet". HELP.
The 169 IP address mans it did not correctly negotiate with the router:
Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

I allow update 4.01 to update got thru all the steps and at the last step it goes back out to the update and cannot connect, the update does not take effect.
Sign out of your account on the iPad, restart the iPad and then sign back into your account.
Settinsg>Store>Apple ID - tap the ID and sign out.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
After restarting go to Settings>Store and sign in again. -

If you have the 'this iPad hasn't been backed up' message then try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

My ipad 2 appears to be connected to the internet(all bars are up in the left hand corner).....yet I cannot connect to the internet(Safari cannot connect open the page because it is not connected to the internet)

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
