To follow up on my question. Only because this is the first time I am using this forum.
I have owned the iPad for approximately six months.
I have been using the iPad at home thru my wireless network, no problems.
In addition to my IPad I connect to the intent with my laptop, and my cell phone. No problem.
Suddenly approximately five days ago I have not been able to connect my IPad to the Internet. Laptop and cell phone still connect.
However when I leave my home I am able to connect my IPad from the Public Library and from Starbucks.
Can anyone give me some advice on how to get connected from my home.
Not sure how or when I can expect a response to this problem.

Thanks, however I am not familiar with the Sleep and Homekey buttons on my IPad.
What I plan to do when I get home from Starbucks is, Settings/general/Reset/reset network
I have rebooted my router no luck.
Am I missing something on not knowing about the Sleep and Homekey?

2 days ago my FF3.6.3 started becoming extremely slow/delayed on EVERYTHING/ALL ACTIONS (I have been using 3.6.3 for a few months with NO problems, until 2 days ago). Scrolling going in delayed/slow/jerky 'waves' motion (not smooth & fast), Right-click box very delayed/hangs in coming up, Text typing lagging/intermittent, activity extremely slow/delayed when pointing mouse over anything, changing from tab to tap extremely slow. Bascially EVERYTHING has become sooo slow, delayed, lagging etc. I have tried ALL possible checks (extensions, add-ons, plug-ins, download history, cache, cookies) & viewed nearly ALL the FF help sites. Is this a sudden/recent bug?? It doesnt only happen with Facebook, but EVERY window I open!!

== approx. 2 days agoI've personally not seen this behaviour since Firefox version 2. It however re-appeared for me in 3.6.6 and 3.6.7 (current) and it's bloody awful. Makes everything I do take 50% longer ..... great for efficiency in the modern world.
This 3.6 branch is so riddle with flaws which seem never to be fixed. Each fix / update brings with it more problems ... worst of all I see version 4 is already in development but they cannot even get 3.6 right ??? WTF ????
Mozilla must stop chasing version numbers as has become the trend in the software world. Fix an existing version to perfection then start working on a new branch of the product. -
I can't access the internet using my home wi-fi. My wi-fi is working on my home computer, and the itouch can access the internet at another person's home using their wi-fi. I've looked in the settings, and can't seem to see any differences.....i'm a techno dummy - so please respond in very basic info
Before resetting try restarting. Or you can go to Settings from the home screen > Wi-Fi > your network and scroll down to 'Renew Lease' and press that. When you do you should see a button labeled 'Renew Lease?' and another labeled 'Cancel'. Select 'Renew Lease'.
You can either back out of that screen back to the home screen or just use the return button to go back to the home screen. Then select Safari and see if you can hook in.
I have to go through that process every five or ten minutes or so when in the second story of our house - weak router signal up there. -
Firefox 5 on my Windows 7 64 bit laptop locks up. Have not be able to get on the internet for days.
I have used Firefox for 3 years on all my computers. However, Firefox 5 on my Windows 7 64-bit laptop locks up. I want to uninstall it and use an earlier version. Also, the "key' in the address bar to 'remember the password' for this site will NOT behave! No matter what I do, it continues to crop up. I dislike Firefox 5 because it is causing me delays, using up my time with constant problems. What previous version do you recommend I use?

i can't recall what you've already tried, so let's start from scratch with troubleshooting this one.
the first thing that i check for when people report getting that message when they try to launch their itunes is a broken QuickTime.
try to open your QuickTime. does it launch properly, or do you get an error message?
if you get an error message, the first thing we'll try is a careful standalone QT 7.1 reinstall.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

if that install goes through okay, does your itunes launch properly again?
(if you get an error message on the QT standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.)

Starting suddenly 3 days ago, thunderbird does not want to pick up emails that I can see in gmail
I turned on my computer and opened Thunderbird email in the morning. Rather than the usual bunch of new emails only the few active emails that I had left the night before showed up. I checked later in the day and still no new emails.
I went directly into gmail and found lots of new emails. I went back to Thunderbird and requested new emails. None showed up. I closed and then reopened Thunderbird. Still no emails. Later I asked for new emails again and they appeared.
This issue began around the time that some new updated version of Thunderbird occurred. With the new "option" that appeared from Thunderbird each time that I clicked on a new email. Once I selected to received each new email the "option" no longer appeared.
Help? I really hate gmail email protocols and really love Thunderbird email operations - but I have to receive them ...

I have just upgraded my ipad to ios 5.1.1. I did a backup to itunes before the upgrade. I have been able to get my books & music back onto my ipad but how do I get my apps back onto my ipad?
If the apps are not on your computer's iTunes (did you do File > Transfer Purchases prior to starting the update ?), then you could try downloading them to your computer (re-downloading) and then restoring to your backup and see if that restores them and their settings/content - a backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their content/settings, so for the restore to work fully iTunes needs access to the apps so that it can restore them.

Has anyone not been able to get the iTunes installer to load properly and get a message like this: This iTunes installer is intended for 32 bit versions of windows. Please download and install 64 bit iTunes installer instead. I have tried repeatedly to get this to load, I have uninstalled iTunes completely and reinstalled and still get the same message. I have windows XP and a brand new ipod touch which I am trying to load.

I have not been able to get the built-in iPhone 4S keyboard dictation to work. I talk into it, then tap "Done", then the phone "thinks" for a few seconds (the purple dots pulse and I see the network icon on the top bar spinning) and then nothing happens.
Siri is wroking fineI am experiencing exactly the same problem, today, and a reset, of all settings, did nothing to correct it. Any suggestions would be welcome. While dictation in all apps is out, Siri is working fine also.

I purchased my AppleTV in Miami, but I live in Argentina.
I have not been able to get my device running correctly, and altough I've read tons of things online, I still have no solution to my problem.
Here's the thing: after everything's plugged in and ON, I see the Apple logo briefly, then the TV displays a sign that says no signal, check pwoer cords and power source.
But everything is plugged in and connected properly, otherwise, I doubt I'd be seeing the apple logo, right?
I tried changing the HDMI cable, reversing the ends, switching ports, hard resetting the ATV, and trying a different TV. No luck.
I read there is some issue with Samsung TVs, and most LED and LCD tvs down here are Samsung.
On the other hand, I cannot return it or exchange it, since I bought it in the states.
Oh! One of the tvs I tried it on displays a little sign that reads "connected at 1280x720 @60hz", and only THEN, goes to the "no signal" sign.

The Apple TV will automatically cycle to the next resolution at approximately 20 second intervals.

Lightroom 4 crashes when trying to open the slideshow module. I spent over three hours with both Adobe and Apple tech support and we know it is a permission issue but have not been able to get it solved. It started with the last upgrade to 10.8
Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.

Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
The first step should give you usable permissions in your home folder. This step will restore special attributes set by OS X on some user folders to protect them from unintended deletion or renaming. You can skip this step if you don't consider that protection to be necessary.
Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
resetpassword
That's one word, all lower case, with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.

Has anyone been able to get a repair/proper fix from Apple for their LCD?
The more I use my Macbook Pro while traveling the more i notice the 'sparkly/grainy' display. Compared to the White/Black Macbook it is obviously noticable what i'm talking about - especially on white backgrounds. My question is - has anyone been able to get a proper repair/fix for this common problem for the Core 2 Duo 15" Macbook Pro's?
I normally have my Macbook Pro connected to an external display but when i do take it along when I travel it stands out more and more every time.
Is Apple going to issue a 'recall/repair' for their customers who bought their Macbook Pro's? What am I to do here, When i need to use my laptop when I travel I can't take the annoyance of using this LCD screen.
C2D 2.16 2GB Mac OS X (10.4.8)Yes, I can CLEARLY see it, it's like wearing glasses that are filthy. The laptop is one week old and I could see it from after the 802.11n upgrade. This is not all that zoomed, really. To me it looks like a video memory problem, not a LCD problem. The problem is the same if I connect an external DELL monitor. Also very visible there. Also very visible if I change resolutions or number of colours. The main reason I believe it's a video memory thing is that when I move a window, it changes from white to, well... yellow and red. Okay so about four days ago my ipad says it has apps to update but whenever i go to the update apps page it will not load and i have tried rebooting signing out but nothing will work, any suggestions?
If you are getting the blank app update screen, many, many people are having this problem over the last couple of days. It is a problem that Apple must fix now.
According to Fly150 in another discussion, this will work.
If you want to update the Apps while waiting for Apple to fix Updates:
1. Go to App Store
2. Select Purchased
3. Select All
4. Scroll down to find the Apps showing update
5. Select update on the Apps
This should update the Apps and get rid of the update count in App Store. Apple needs to fix this. It is a workaround only until then. -
After the lastest update on iTunes I have not been able to get into the program. I have uninstalled all components and reinstalled and now it is telling me I am missing .dll files. I am so frustrated. I probably lost my entire library except what I purchased
