HT1695 I know nothing about how to use my new ipod and when reading the little bit of information in the folder that came with it, all I can do is turn it on, but it just powers down after a few seconds. How do I work this thing?
I know nothing about how to use my new ipod and when reading the little information that came with it, all I can do is turn it on. Then in a few seconds it goes black, never having brought up a screen to do anything! Help! What do I do to get this thing going?
You might consider connecting it to the charger and charging up the battery overnight.

What do you do if you have bought a used iPad and the apps won't update without the original id and password. Can't delete the apps that come with the iPad and reinstall them so what do I do?
Correct. An app can only be updated under the Apple ID that was used to orginally acquire the app. If that is a problem you can delete the app and download again under the new userid. If you paid for the app you will have to pay again. Your old Apple ID does not go away so there is no reason to not use it to download the apps.
You cannot delete the apps that came with IOS. If you want to "hide" the apps simply put the apps into an application folder by dragging one app onto another. You can do this to all the IOS apps. -
I have only had my iPad2 with ios 5.1 a few months but already had several videos stored with the YouTube app that came with iOS 5.1.
I have just upgraded to ios 6 and appear to have lost this App.
What has happened?
Can I get it back, along with my stored videos?
I did sync my iPad with my PC and so there may be copies there, but not being computer literate, I would not want to transfer them from the PC to the iPad with any risk of losing them, assuming that the YouTube App transfers with it or that I can download a YouTube aPp for ios 6.
Any advice on this aspect of the problem would be much appreciated.
ChrisSorry, no YouTube in IOS 6.
You can use the iPhone version of YouTube or Jasmine

I finally uploaded the now operating system 5.0 and set up iCloud. It rearranged all my apps on my iPhone, and took my NYTimes app out of the folder I set up for all my news apps and now I can't get it out. Nor can I move my other news apps onto the newsstand. Any ideas?
You can't (at the moment). Have been playing around with the same problem for about an hour - very irritating!!!
If enough of us complain, (to the NYTimes) they might have it switched back, but I doubt it. From the marketing point of view I would imagine they want "Newstand" to be THE subscription center, which does make sense. -
Itunes just shuts down after a few seconds - no error message.
Ok, i've been wrestling with my itunes for 3 days. My itunes starts up no problem, works for between 5-30 seconds, then just dissapears without any error msg. I've tried every single trouble shooting topic in these forums. From getting rid of Norton, deleting Apple from my registry, installing quicktime as a standalone, checking my windows processes to see if i have any spyware running when im starting up itunes, changing my start up to only the apple products, etc, etc, etc, etc. I can't even remember most of the other ones I've tried, thats how many I've done. I've probably spent at least 10 hours in front of my computer dealing with this. Thats more than i usually spend in 2 weeks. Only because i NEED my itunes to be working. I have the new IPOD video coming and I want it working by the time it gets to my house so i can use it. Has anyone had this problem and gotten it fixed? ANY help would be incredible, i'm so sick and tired and trying things, thinking they'll work, and then they of course, don't. Thanks in advance!
please help!
i've tried the method in the other topic with the guy/gal who was having the same problems as me and it didn't work. -
I am trying to find at least the trial version so that I can enter the serial number that I have on the back of the case and activate the full version so I can get some work I need to get done finished. My laptop was thrown away after a flood in my basement and I believe the cd was still in it. I don't recall ever taking it out.
Forget your existing disc and serial number. They won't work.
Download the new non-activation version of CS2 (applies to CS owners as well) from
Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
Install then enter the new serial number provided at that link. -
I need to delete music off my ipod how can I do that with out taking all the music off the ipod?
Under the Music tab for your iPod Sync preferences with iTunes, choose selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres instead of entire library.
Select the iTunes playlists, and/or artists, albums, genres you want transferred to your iPod followed by a sync. This will remove the music from your iPod that you don't want on the iPod. -
When I start iPhoto it opens up but shut down after a few seconds. Any advice please?
When I start iPhoto it opens up but shut down after a few seconds.
Ken in SwedenTry this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. If that does the same or you can't create a new library try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Lion and Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE 1: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

if you are subscribed to the Hardwell podcast... quickly open the Podcast app and delete the most recent Hardwell podcast from 3/22.
for some reason that's causing the crash. i've deleted and it works fine again. -
Just edited 20 film in FCPx all about 6 mins long all on 1 x 250gb flash drive
Now i have another 10 to do but have no room on that drive.
So i have been using my new 2tb drive to do the next 10 films with the footage on that drive, but i need elements from the first 20 films ie; graphics, common film elements etc to be added to the new 10 films.
So I have copied all the footage, events and project folders from the 20 edited films over to my 2tb drive in a separate folder - ejected the 250gb drive (as i only have 2 thunderbolt slots and one is used for a 27 inch monitor on my macbook pro)
.......my question is how do i load all of the 20 films into my project library so i can see all of the 30 films at once so i can copy and paste form one film to another - is this possible? and withlout messing up lol// any reason, why you color your post to 'invisible' low contrasted colors?? //
I'm confused:
by concept, there's Events and there's Projects.
Events and Projects can be internal or on any ext. drive.
You can use any Event in any Project.
… so, why is the 'location' of your files on any relevance for your Projects ??
Or, do you want to re-import done-Projects as 'Events'? Export,Import, done… (??)
… sorry, maybe I'm just lost intranslation -

Video chat breaks down after a few seconds
Hi. I need help.
iChat video chat breaks down after a few seconds. Audio is ok if I begin with it, but doesn't work after a failed video chat. The message that pops up afterwards tells me (in Swedish) that "No data was received during the last 10 seconds. Info about audio channel: local machine uses [IP]:16402 and expects remote machine to send to 83.xxx.xxx.xx:43787." Repeats the same for video channel. What am I to do with the network settings to make this work. I have now realized that this is not a software problem (since upgrading to 10.6/iChat 5.0 didn't solve anything) so it must be the router or my new Time Capsule's settings. But where do I start?
Thank you in advance,
RikardHi and thanks for your help,
I have now had a chance to try the chat again, works fine at first but after say 3-5 minutes the connection breaks in the same fashion as before, unfortunately.
One thing I noticed when flicking on Back to my Mac (just to try it for fun in Snow Leopard - it's never worked for me!) it first turned green, after which it said the familiar: that my router must be capable of UPnP or NAT-PNP. Funny, that was what I thought I had... Could this be connected to the iChat problem do you think?
About the NAT tab: it is really gone when Bridge mode is on, but it reappears when I change from Bridge mode, and when I did it really was on (by default?). I turned it off and changed back to Bridge mode. I have switched off ping as you said. No port scan or DOS/SPI switch anywhere.
I found a iChatConnectionError Log in my Library folder, here it is. Can you read anything from it? Sorry if I quote too much of it.
Thank you ever so much for your help and patience!!!
Cheers,
Rikard
