That depends on the Cellular Plan / package you have for the phone. Some Plans include a certain ammount of data transfer in the cost of the phone package. If you have one of those then you have the specified ammount of data transfer to use the internet. If you go over you get charged extra.
If your plan is a Phone only plan with no Data package, then yes Internet will cost extra to whatever you already pay for the phone service.
Your best bet is to talk to your cellular carrier to make sure what type of Cellular package you have.

I went away for a weekend and when I came home my iphone would not connect to my home wifi. I have tried everything I could think of. Reset the phone, the network settings, the router everything that I could possibly think of. Other devices will connect to the wifi but just not the phone.

Remove all power from the router for about 15 seconds. If that doesn't fix it check if you have MAC filtering enabled on the router. If you do the iPhone needs to be added to the Allowed list.

Look on the support pages for your WiFi router for a firmware update for the router.
It's hard to say much more without knowing the make, model, and version of your WiFi router and how you have it configured.

If you have connected to other wi-fi successfully, then your wi-fi should be working. Try power cycling the router. Disconnect it from power for about 30 seconds and then restart it. After it has come back, try connecting again.

IPhone 4s with ios 6 shows full wifi signal but can't access to the internet while other idevice can

Hi everyone,
I updated my iphone 4s to ios 6 a few months ago and there was no problem until I change my sim card to other carriers last two days. This second sim card is the same sim card that I used it earlier this year with no problem. But the problem I face is when my iphone goes to sleep mode I realised that I can't receive any push notification from imessage, Whatsapp, and Line. When the phone is awake the wifi signal is back and I have to go to each application in order to get the message. I have tried the following methods but it didn't work: reset all network settings, restore as new iphone, push home and power button together, switch off my iphone, turn on airplane mode, and even change my router. At the moment I have restored my iphone as new for the 5th times.
Now the problem is worsen, after the phone is sleep for about 5 minutes and when I awake my iphone it shows the wifi signal. But I can't access to the internet at all. It shows no working internet on Whatsapp. Safari can't load any web page, the weather app can't update temperature etc. I have to switch off and switch on wifi in setting menu so that I can use the internet. And when I leave my iphone four about 5 - 10 minuetes then the problem start again. While I can't access to the internet on my iphone 4s, I used my dad's iphone 4s with ios 5.0.1 and it works just fine with the internet. My laptop can also access to the internet with the same wifi network but not my iphone.
Does anybody know what's going on with my iphone 4s? Is it the bug from IOS 6 or my iphone is broken? Please help me.

Any update will cause problems for a few users. And those users will rush here and post "the sky is falling" stories about their experience. The 99.99% of people who have no problems after an update won't bother to post here; indeed, most of them don't even know ASC exists. FWIW, I had no problems with iOS 7 on my 4S. Your problem is most likely not related to iOS 6, but you should probably update anyway. You're talking about connecting to your home router? If so, try rebooting the router by unplugging it for 30 seconds.

My iPhone 4 connects without issue, however my wife's new iPhone 5 just searches and cannot locate the wifi to connect to.

Make sure you update the iPhone 5 to iOS 6.0.1 which just came out yesterday. It addresses problemsn with WiFi connections, especially if you are using encrypted WPA2 networks.
Also, check if your router manufacturer has a firmware update, especially if you have an older router that hasn't been updated in a long while.

Why will my Iphone 6 not stay on my home Wifi and not recognize it?

I purchased my iPhone 6 in Nov of 2014. Since the date I purchased this phone, I am not able to stay on my home Wi-Fi signal. When the phone does recognize my Wi-Fi signal, it is only 1 bar and it is painfully slow! It locks up and just goes back to 3G. It does not and will not stay on LTE and I live in Baltimore and I never have a signal stronger than 3 bars and it always jumps between 3G and LTE. I know that is a Sprint issues, at lease I think it is, but never being able to use my home wi-fi is getting old!

It's strange that your iphone connects to wifi at office but not at home. I experienced this wifi problem twice. The first time was when i upgraded to ios 6 and the second was when I replaced my iphone 5. At any rate, try this:
1. Turn airplane mode on (this is important).
2. Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
You will need to type in your wifi password. Hope this works for you!
