I was using a GEVEY sim unlock with iOS 4.1 since (almost) last 2 yrs now in India on Vodafone. But as Apple designed it, there were several apps including Whatsapp, Facebook, Gmail and LinkedIn that stopped functioning due to the iOS updates and the subsequent (I guess 'mandatory' App updates). Finally yesterday I thought of updating to the iOS 6. As soon as I did that, I have been left with no choice but to see the above message.
The process by jhidrowoh starts corectly but iTunes doesnt give you the option of restore only ... it is forcefully clubbed with update and the button that is displayed in the dialog box that appears on pressing 'Restore' in teh recovery mode, shows 'Restore and Update' and as soon as the iPhone is restored, it automatically updates the iOS as well to iOS 6 and hence leaves you hanging in the stale situation.
Guys ... Need the data desperately ... Can anybody please help???

Sounds like your iPhones software may be corrupt. Try placing the iPhone into recovery mode. To do this, follow the steps in this article:

Hi,
I am developing a web tool that accesses client's Bingads accounts via OAUTH2 granting. I am downloading data from clients daily.
Generally it worked, but for 2 days I am experiencing a weird issue, that in random times (but more and more often though) I receive random error messages from Bing server. I am pasting below a few example from my logs (with timestamp and request/response).
Must note that I launch these requests from the server where we have the webapp but also I launch it locally. The same is the result.
The timestamp is in France time (GMT+1).

1. I am using the older version of the PHP library provided by Bing (updated on 1/20/2014), so that is doing the WSDL loadings. I initialize the proxy calling OpticoBingAdsClientProxy providing what it needs, and then do the requests.
2. I have a cron that reads data from client's accounts. I make several calls, like get search query report, get keyword performance report, get keyword bulk data. As the script progressed the first 2 worked and the third gave error. Or in other cases the
first request failed. The calls have quite some time in between them since I process data (sometimes even 160 seconds)
3. I did not change the code ion terms of requests, since as I said I use the PHP library (same credentials, ...).
As of today (2015-01-16 10:30 GMT + 2) running my script, still have the same issues.

My mom and my dad bought my Iphone 5c on another country (china). Is there anyway i can change the OS to the "official" or to the english one?
Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created. -
the charger to my daughter's6 mo. old iphone5 is not working . this needs to be resolved asap. what is the quickest way to get this replaced or repaired? I understand it's under warranty. I have a problem with my iphone 4. My 3G always stays activated but I lose my network signal. The bars all get lost and I'm not able to receive / send sms, mms or phone calls. Could you guys please help me fix this problem? Ios 5.1.1
I haven't gotten a new sim card because the problem has been presenting itself in various cards not only mine. So far, all I've done is reset my network settings.
Last night, I turned off the 3G tab and it had all the signal bars. Today, I did the network reset and it's working apparently. But like I said before, previously the bars just disappear and the iphone only has the 3G activated. -

I've had my iPhone 5 for just over a year now, and I haven't really had any problems since iOS7 was installed. I had a PC, with no connectivity problems between any of my Apple devices. Then FINALLY, I purchased my very first Macbook Air 13". I set it all up, updated all the apps, and made sure it was good to go. My iPhone was really low on battery one day, and I just happened to have my USB for it handy and thought I would just plug it into my computer to charge it. I figured I worry about syncing it later as I hadn't really had time to set it all up with iTunes on the new computer.
MY PHONE WENT CRAZY. It just started vibrating all over the table. Looking at the battery icon, it was flipping between charging and not charging, and occasionally the "do you trust this device" window would pop up on the screen, but it was still going crazy. iTunes opened up and these alerts saying "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. Could not connect to the device." and "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. This device is no longer connected." All it was doing at this point was using up even more battery. But then the iPhoto app opened by itself on my shiny new Macbook and the vibrating stopped. It was charging and syncing! But not having iPhotos before on a computer weirded me out i hadn't decided exactly what I wanted to do with it, I closed the app. The phone went nuts again. ***. On a different day, I was trying to sync it again, and it worked. But only long enough to back it up on the macbook. W.T.F.
Plugging into any PC is no problem at all. The phone just connects and starts charging.
I've tried just about everything. All of my software is up to date, both on the mac and iphone. The USB cord is fine. I've reset the macbook with it plugged in and not plugged in. I have uninstalled, and reinstalled iTunes with the phone plugged in and not plugged in. I've reset all the contents and settings on my iPhone, as well as did a hard reset with it plugged in and not plugged in. My iPad has no problem connecting and it also has iOS7. It's just so weird though, that it starts connecting/disconnecting interchangeably as soon as I plug it into the computer, even when all my apps are closed. All this is leading me to believe that it must be some sort of issue between the devices' communication to each other. But I'm not sure if it's an iPhone, MacBook, or iTunes issue!
HHHHEEEEELLLLLLPPPPP!!!!!I had this same problem with my new MBP 15", but only with the USB port on the left side. The USB port on the right side worked fine. Perhaps the ports on the left don't have enough signal energy for the iPhone.
Anyway, try using a different USB port, and if that doesn't work, perhaps you could try a powered USB hub. -

This started yesterday at about 10:30am California time and hasn't stopped or been fixed. Whenever I sync or try to backup my iPhone 5 it goes through the process but right when it's about to finish backing up it gives me an error message that says "The iPhone (iPhone name) could not be synced because the connection to the iPhone was reset"
I have tried using a different USB cable, using a different port on my macbook, restarting both my phone and my computer. And nothing works and I have search through about every search engine and this problem isn't to be found anywhere online. Posting my problem and calling Apple support are my last options. Also I am still running on iOS 6.1.4 and have not updated to iOS7 because I want to be able to have an up-to-date backup file in case anything goes wrong. And I don't want to restore a backup because my last actual backup is from a couple months ago. But another thing I don't quite understand is that even though that message comes up, a couples minutes later my iPhone's summary says the last backup was the current time like it actually DID back it up. So my question is if the error message says that it can't be synced then why does it show that it actually did backup? I was facing issues with both backup and FB integration after the iOs 6 upgrade. Before then I did not have any issues with the iCloud backup service, but after a few days, I noticed that it was continually stuck at the Estimating time for the backup and it never progressed.
As any good techie would, I tackled the most pressing issue first . . . FB integration of course.
I had read in a separate post about this solution so tried it . . .
I deleted the original FB app and hard booted the phone. I then went into settings and entered the data for FB integration. Seconds later, I received a text message to my phone - already listed and verified in FB with a 6 digit code to re-enter instead of my password. Seconds later I was verified and then prompted to download the FB app. All backup and integrated.
Then I went into the iCloud backup, turned it off . . . and deleted the last backup. I then re-enabled backup . . . and although I thought I was going to face the same issue, after a few minutes, it moved on from Estimating time . . . to actually backing up. It is now a small way through the backup and seems to estimate that it will take another two hours to complete.
A good nights work. Backup and integration all sewed up. Good luck.

Could not get remote version of file.name to compare

Running CS5.5 installed on my new MacPro running 10.6.8.
I have to sites installed. The first one works great including file compare and sync.
On the 2nd site, when I try to do a file compare, I get "Could not get remote version of xxx to compare, where xxx is my selected filename.
As I said, the on the first site, this works perfectly.
I can get files, I can put files, but I cannot compare a file.
I checked the file permissions. They are 755 and the owner is set the similarly to the first site that works.
Another hint is that when I try to sync the site, it tells me that syncronization is not necessary. When I view the files anyway, it shows zero files, even though the show all files checkbox is checked.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You should ask your relative to physically take the iPhone to the store rather than shipping it because as diesel vdub has said:
"No Apple store will accept an iPhone shipped to them"
All you have to do is safely pack and ship your iPhone from the Philppines to your California-based relative.
