HT1711 why do I have to double click everything now in itunes?
Hello everyone,
I'm not an expert on the Itunes program so this could be a dumb question, but I'll try to explain this in clear detail and be as brief as possible.
Earlier versions of Itunes did not have this feature or issue, so it was when I updated last year that this became an annoyance. Everytime I click one of my songs to change something like artist, title, rating, etc the entire program will highlight in grey, then I need to double click to get into the tab to add or delete file name stuff. Why is this? The older versions of Itunes I never had to double click out of this grey highlighted box to get into changing text. Maybe it sounds like a dumb reason to be frustrated but most of the songs I listen to are in Japanese so I need to translate them and add the English names, bands, and proper song titles and it drives me crazy you need to double or even triple click on anything to get into it now.

You must have VoiceOver on. You have to go to Settings>General>Accessibility>VoiceOver to turn it off. However, with VoiceOver on you have to flick the screen with three fingers to scroll. Also you have to tap an item on the screen once to select it, then tap again twice to activate it. (Example: To open Settings, tap Settings once to select it, then double-tap Settings to open it.)

- Try triple clicking the Home button and then going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off
- Next try connecting the iPod to the computer and going to the Summary pane for the iPod in iTunes. Click on Configure Universal Access and turn VoiceOver off. -
A text like box has appeared on the screen of my iphoe and this has to be over the app I want to use. I then have to double click on the icon for it to open. I cannot scroll across or down. I can access the apps but because it will not scroll I cannot access all of the screen. Can nayone help please???
It sounds like VoiceOver is partially on. First try triple pushing the Home button. This may turn VoiceOver off. If that doesn't work going to Settings/General/Accessibility and make sure VoiceOver is Off. Note you may have to use 3 fingers on the screen to scroll.

Why do I have to double click on my icons to open apps?
For some reason, out of the clear blue, none of my apps open without double clicking. Just about every icon has to be double clicked now to work. This just started out of the clear blue when I turned it on this morning. I am baffled

Every time I touch my Iphone 4s a box appears around whatever I touch and Siri tells me what I am touching and I have to double tap it to bring the app up. It also won't let me scroll up or down and scrolling sideways is difficult.

Do I still have to double-click a clip to see it's date and time?
iMovie 4 and earler, when you clicked on a clip in the timeline, the time and date would show up right there in the grey area. Then in iMovie 5, that is gone. Now I have to double-click every single clip to see the same info. This has made me very angry, as I waste a ton of time double clicking and closing windows. Why on earth is that gone? Anyway, I decided to save the $80 on version 6...unless they brought back this feature. Can anyone let me know if it's back?
iMovie HD 5/6 no longer shows the timecode in its main window.
I, too. think this embedded timecode info should be shown in the main window like in iMovie 4 so that the user can easily see the date of each clip.
Notice that the displayed time is the value of the very first frame of the underlying media clip. I.e. if you split the clip at the playhead, all the splitted clips still point to the same time.
iMovie 2.1.2 did this right by always showing the correct time even with splitted media clips. -
I'm not sure what happened, but I can't leave my home screen unless I press n hold an app and move it to another page, then when i press the home button so the apps stop shaking I can stay on another page. Other than doing it that way I can't scroll from one page to another. When I click on an app a thin box appears around it, not only with apps but when I click on the time or battery or ANYTHING! In order for me to open any of the apps I have to double click on it and then when it opens I can't do anything in the app. Even when I went to settings to see if there was something in there to fix this problem I can't go anywhere or do anything. Someone please help!!!
Im having this same problem an my phone is about 3 weeks old. I am not sure about the voice over part though...I have not yet figured out how to work the voice recognition part of the phone...I am such a newbie with this phone. I did the power off/on suggestion, several times. I tried leaving it off for 10 minutes. Tried to reset with the power on/off and home button pressed at the same time. Charged battery. Still makes no difference. You cannot scroll any direction. Have to double click to open apps. Have to double click letters when texting or emailing in order to get the letter in the text box. Can scroll through app choices, have to click on the line with the dots in it and move from page to page. Can't access the settings - > general - > accessibility - because it won't allow me to scroll down to "general".
Anyone help you with your fix yet? -
The voice that was on when I first set up my ipad came back on and now I have to double click to get into my apps and can't use my apps because her voice is talking. How do I make the voice stop and my IPAD work again.
If you've turned VoiceOver on then see if triple-clicking the home button turns it off, and then change what Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-Click Home is set to.
Otherwise, via 'the touch to select double-tap to activate' process you need to go into Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver and turn it off
The manual (http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipad) also says that you should be able to switch voice-over off by connecting to your computer's iTunes :
Turn VoiceOver on or off in iTunes: Select iPad in the iTunes sidebar. In the Options section of the Summary pane, click Configure Universal Access. Select VoiceOver, then click OK.
So select Configure Universal Access at the bottom of the Summary tab and set Seeing to Neither -

With Voice Over, you highlight whatever you are trying to select and then double tap anywhere on the screen to select.
So for your password of 1234 you have to
"Highlight 1, then double tap the screen, Highlight 2, the double tap the screen,... etc."
In order to remove you have 2 options:
Option# 1 – Turn off Voice Over
Go to setting by, highlight "SETTING
Double tap screen to go into settings
Use 3 fingers to (swipe) scroll of down and highlight "GENERAL"
Double tap screen to go into general
Use 3 fingers to (swipe) scroll of down and then highlight “ACCESSIBILITY”
Double tap screen to go into accessibility
Once you are in make sure that EVERYTHING in that section are shown as “OFF”
Option #2 - Reset your Phone
Go to setting by, highlight "SETTING
Double tap screen to go into settings
Use 3 fingers to (swipe) scroll of down and highlight "GENERAL"
Double tap screen to go into general
Use 3 fingers to (swipe) scroll of down and then highlight “RESET”
Double tap screen to go into reset
Select “Reset all setting” and continue to follow the instruction
(When you reset, all of your data and music WILL NOT erase. So don’t worry about that)
