HT1725 Error download purchases

Hi, I had to redo my computer and redownload my iTunes library. My problem is I keep getting download errors and they refuse to download. I've had no issue downloading my purchases before. I've already read the article regarding this and none of the known issues apply. Help plz!! I'm losing almost $50 because of this unless it's fixed.

I can't help you witht the problem BUT you can ask for credit. They are very, very nice about it. I have had problems several times and they always give me credit. You won't lose the money if you ask for the credit forundelivered songs--JUST ASK THEM -I DID.

  • Help, i get the 'error downloading purchased music.' what do i do?

i can download music and podcast fine but when i try to purchase a tv show i get the error message "there was an error downloading purchased music. the disk could not be read from or written to" i went to the purchases command in the advanced menu several times with no luck. i have purchased three seperate shows and get the same message. i'm tired of wasting money and would like some help.
    thanks

Hmm... I've never seen a issue exactly like this before personally, but usually you get the "Disk Locked" error when installing iTUnes or adding anything, songs or videos to iTunes folder. go here and follow the instructions http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302398
You may have to uninstall/reinstall iTunes AND quicktime if this does not work. Uninstlling iTunes DOES NOT delete any music, playlist, ratings ect ect

  • "Error downloading purchased music. Disk could not be read or written to.

I just purchased an album. It downloaded 23 of the 25 tracks until it gave me this error: "There was an error downloading your purchased music. The disk could not be read from or written to."
I double checked my hard drive space and found I had about 1 gig left, which is a small percentage of my harddrive, but plenty of space for a few songs. But, just to be sure, I deleted an old iMovie project to free up another 20 gigs. I restart the iMac and ran iTunes.
iTunes told me, "The file 'iTunes Library' does not appear to be a valid music library file. iTunes has attempted to recover your music library and renamed this file to 'iTunes library (Damaged).'" I pressed Ok to this message and the next, which asked if I wanted to download the rest of my purchased music. I held out hope that the songs would download -- that the iTunes and wonderously repaired itself.
Nope. It seems to actually download the songs, but fails to actually write them to disk. I check my permissions for the iTunes Library folder and I have read & write access. Furthermore, I ran Repair Permissions from Disk Utility. Still, no dice.
So, I thought I'd purchase a second album, just to see if it was the two songs (maybe corrupted). Now, I can't get any songs out of the new album in addition to the original two misfit songs. It seems that whatever happened has no prevented me from downloading and saving anything from the Music Store.
I am beginning to fear a hard drive failure, though everything else seems not to care (including iMovie 6). Does anyone have any other tips to offer? I'll give anything a try at this point. If worse comes to worse, I'll travel to my local Apple Store Genius Bar and see what they can do.
    Thanks in advance.

Answered my own question. After I thought I had tried everything, it occurred to me to Verify Disk. Doing so revealed a minor bitmap error. So, using my trusty install disk, I booted my machine to the disk and repaired it.
After the repair, I started iTunes and was able to download my songs. Unfortunately, my original library file was permanently damaged, so I had to start with a clean one. However, if the worst thing to happen to me in all this is that I have to redefine my playlists, then I'm better off.
I hope this thread helps someone in the future.

Oh, my gosh, that is happening to me too! I just posted one similar to this, in fact. I do have a guess though. Maybe we need a faster internet service like Broadband or something? I dunno. When I figure it out, I will try to get back on here to let you know. I am glad that I am not the only one with this problem though. I'll stay in touch.

  • HT1725 Cannot download purchased video

I cannot download purchased video from iTunes using my Dell laptop with Windows 7 and TWC ethernet.  I tried changing the DNS address to open DNS using two different options and it did not work.  I continue to get time out errors.  I am  very frustrated because i just purchased an IPad for the sole purpose of using it to watch video when i travel.  I have heard terrible things about people "renting" video from iTunes only to get on the plane and find out that they don't work.  I am afraid to shell out any more money to Apple without getting this resolved.  Of course, Apple doesn't even have a disc connection to use on the plane wtih the ipad.  I feel completely ripped off!

Yes, some others posted that it wouldn't work when they were downloading videos to a network place.
Your work IT dept may have set up your My Documents folder to be somewhere on the network.
If so, make a c:\videos folder in Windows Explorer.
Change the iTunes path, just temporarily, to go there. Make sure you write down the current path so you can get it back later, after this test.
    Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Itunes music folder = c:\videos.
Then see if the music store video will download.
You can always go back and change the path, since you wrote it down.

  • ITunes error downloading purchases / app updates

Purchased three iPhone apps in iTunes 10.4.1 on Lion 10.7.1 on iMac.
Received download error message: "There were problems downloading some purchase items." "You do not h ... [text hidden, can't be read] Please check that the connection to the network is active and try again."
Download status returns a message "stopped (err = -5000)".
Have tried rebooting, turning network off and on, trying again next day, but receive same message, despite having network (wifi) access.

Well when you send off an email, it say it can take UP TO 48 hours (or 2 days). They can reply back to you sooner.
Like any support center/company you contact, they tell you this to basicly cover themselfs. The number of People contacting for help goes up and down on a daily bases, so when they have high numbers, it'll tale them alittle longer to work thru the..."Crowd".
THey also say this to cover weekends and holidays at times when there support helpers are off work.

  • HT1725 Error downloading music from itunes

So, I've seen several posts about this over the past few days. I tried downloading Jason Mraz's new cd along with a few other songs and all of them are showing completed, however 80% skip midway through the song to the next track.
My question is simply, how do I re-download those tracks and get the product that I paid for?
There really should be a link and and an easy fix, as I'm quite sure this has happened before.

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Before you can re-download your tunes, you would need to delete them first. You can then re-download them from the purchased section of the iTunes store.

  • Error downloading purchased album

Hello (and sorry about my english...),
Some time ago I bought a Coldplay album, but after updating my iPhone 4 to iOS 6 I am not able to re-download it. The album appears on the list of purchased items ont the phone but the screen freezes when I try to download it. Additionally, if I access the iTunes Store the button to purchase the album is disabled (showing "purchased") but the list of songs individually don't display the icloud icon and show the price instead
    Any suggestions?

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting the incomplete tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

  • Automatic Downloads and Strange Error Message: "You can auto-download purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days"

    Hi gang-
Yesterday I noticed that iTunes on my iMac had not auto-downloaded several new songs that I had recently purchased on my iPhone.    In iTunes Preferences, under Store -> Automatic Downloads, I always have Music selected so all songs purchased from any device using my Apple ID normally download automatically.
To troubleshoot this, I double-checked my Preferences and sure enough, Music was de-selected under Automatic Downloads.   I then Selected it and clicked OK.   Here's where it gets weird and I get this error message:
This computer is already associated with an Apple ID.  You can auto-download purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 84 days.
I read and re-read this message and none of it seems to apply to me.   I have only one Apple ID.   I am currently logged in with iTunes to that one Apple ID.   All my iTunes Music ever has been purchased with that one Apple ID.   I am not trying to associate this computer or any other with a different Apple ID.
I logged iTunes out and then back in again and tried all the above- but same error message.
So, as it is now, I am unable to turn on Automatic Downloads in iTunes.
Anyone know what the heck is going on?
    Thanks!
    Dave

    Hey gang-
Okay, this gets more and more bizarre.   I sent a support email to Apple and basically they said  "...it seems that someone else associated your Mac with their Apple ID. That's the reason your purchases won't download."
Yikes!   My wife and I live alone- and we have exactly one and only one Apple ID.    Would somebody have needed physical access to my iMac to do that?
Support then said "You can view which devices or computers are currently associated, remove unused devices or computers, and see how long before they can be associated with a different Apple ID from the Account Information page in iTunes on your computer."
Okay- so I logged into My Account in iTunes.   On the list of associated devices, my own iMac is NOT on that list.   But I am logged in under the same Apple ID I've had for years on that iMac.
So my big question right now is...if my iMac (that I've owned for 5 years) has somehow been dis-associated from my Apple ID, how do I find out what Apple ID it is associated with?
Thanks gang for trying to help me unravel a mystery.
    Dave
PS- Here's an Apple Tech article on iTunes associations, but it doesn't really go beyond what we've discussed above:

There's about 25 or so songs that I have purchased but can't download. Whenever I click on Downloads, It says there are 25 songs available for download, I click to download them and they all come up with an error. Someone suggested I go to Store --> Account --> and then click download purchased songs from there, if I do that in the library it seems to act like they're all about to download but none of them do. Anyone please help?

I am trying to download a Video from the new iTunes 6 and I do have an iPod Video, but for some reason everytime I check for purchases to download it, I get this error message: "There was an error downloading your purchased music. The disk could not be read from or written to."
For some reason the Apple Team cannot seem to help me with this, does anyone have any idea what is going wrong? I have purchased the video about 1 1/2 ago and no one has helped me from Apple yet. Please let me know....Thanks so much!
iPod Video 60 GB   Windows XP Pro

I had this same issue today. I was able to download songs but not videos. It turned out that the machine that I was downloading on was my work machine and my music storage location was redirected to my company server. The path was
    \\Rgafiles-2\bcross$\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music
I suspected that this redirection was an issue so I installed iTunes on another maching and was able to successfully download the song locally. I then copied the .m4v file to my original machine.

  • Error downloading videos purchased on iTunes store

I recently upgraded to the 30GB iPod w/ video. I purchased a couple of videos from the iTunes store and when I attempt to download I get an error message: "There was an error downloading you purchased music. The disk could not be read from or written to." I even went as far as removing my old software and reloading the new disk. Can someone help me out? My laptop is pretty full but I've still got 9GB free.

No, but thanks for the help. I checked and it is not read only. It is a corporate laptop. Could it have to do with the security selections?
