I had a similar situation with my Macbook Pro and just had success taking a little twig and cleaning out the inside of the magsafe port, especially in the corners. (I didn't mess with the pins.) The port didn't look especially dirty beforehand—just a little buildup—but I could tell a little difference visually after I "swabbed" out any sign of gunk.
In case anybody else is interested in the unorthodox method, I used a tiny twig with the end broken off so it was soft with the exposed wood fiber. After rubbing a little, it compressed noticeably so I broke off the end again so that it was frayed a little and could get into the corners. A toothpick would probably work similarly.
FYI, before I cleaned it out, the top charge status icon *would* show that it was plugged in but it wouldn't charge. There was no light on the magsafe plug. I had unplugged/replugged the socket and had re-situated the magsafe several times.

Cannot display edited photos in iPhoto even though they are in the Library
I cropped two photos using Elements 4 through iPhoto -- saved as by inserting 'cropped' after the original file name. These appear in the Library under Modified/2006/folder name, but they do not appear in iPhoto.
I have tried importing them, but get a message they already exist -- and indeed they do!
Library rebuilds have been made.

The proper way to do it;
1-You have to "save" a flattened image with the same name and file type.
2-The error message is because you are trying to import an image into the library that is already there. Drag the cropped images out of the iPhoto Library folder/Modified. Import them into iPhoto again. They will not be linked to the original image though.
3-If you want the images linked you need to start over with the cropping and this time "save" the image with the same name. You can always revert to the original by control clicking on the image and scrolling to "revert to original" -
I cannot open GarageBand on my iPad gen 1. The GB icon stay darkened (shaded) and is labeled 'pause' or 'waiting'. My iOS 5.1.1 GarageBand ver. 1.2.1. Sometimes a dialog box appears and reads, "unable to complete download" and "consider freeing up space, go to settings." Problem is I'm not tying to download GarageBand upgrade because it requires iOS 6 or higher. Does Apple have. Archive sites with older versions of GarageBand?

No such problem when I go through Internet Explorer.hello, there are reports that the foxit pdf plugin is causing this issue. you might want to disable this plugin in firefox > addons > plugin until foxit offers a fix/update for its plugin.

When I try to download a song onto my iPad from iTunes Match, my iPad says "Cannot connect to the iTunes Store" even though I have a perfect Internet connection.

I had to restore my iPad recently and in opening Pages again found that even though I synced my iPad and backed it up my files did not come over to the restored iPad. Is there any way of recouperating them? Thanks!
working files aare not backed up as far as I know. You must either 1)"copy to itunes", then use itunes to save as... to your desktop machine. Or 2) use iCloud to keep the docs.
I also learned this the hard way. No way i know of to get the working docs back.

my 3rd generation ipad even though my battery is at 100 % the screen goes black after sitting for more than 15 mins. The only way to get it to come is by resetting the ipad. Is there a fix for this. It all started after the last two updates.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.

I use the "Tripit" travel app on both my iPhone and iPad2. While I have no problem getting my Tripit info synced to the Gmail Calendar on my iPhone, I am unable to get Tripit to sync to the Gmail calendar on my iPad, even though the setup information (email address, settings, etc.) are exactly the same. I know that Tripit is installed correctly on the iPad, as I am able to go to that app directly and correctly see all of my info. However, even though I've set up the secondary "Tripit" calendar feed (to Gamil) on the iPad, it's not synchronizing and showing up. Is anyone else having this problem?
All I had to do was complain. I synced my iPhone to the Windows machine, checked the other account at iTunes prompting (where no apps had shown up previously), reconnected the iPad, and 140 apps downloaded including the App Store. I have no idea why.

Hello, I just bought a 2013 Mac mini and I cannot get the sound to output to my Dell U2713HM monitor. I went to sound output but even though my Dell shows up there when I select it there is no sound output to it. I am using a mini DP to DP cable...Any ideas? Thanks

I didn't expect anything to happen and nothing happened. The audio jack is for the Dell soundbar which is optional.

Attaching the Soundbar AX510 / AX510PA (Optional) CAUTION: Do not use with any device other than the Dell Soundbar. NOTE: The Soundbar power connector (+12 V DC output) is for the optional Dell Soundbar AX510/AX510PAonly. To attach the Soundbar: 1. Working from the back of the monitor, attach the Soundbar by aligning the two slots with the two tabs along the bottom of the monitor. 2. Slide the Soundbar to the left until it snaps into place. 3. Connectthe Soundbar with the DC power connector. 4. Insert the mini stereo plug from the back of the Soundbar into the computerís audio output jack. For HDMI/DP, you can insert the mini stereo plug into the monitorís audio output port. If there is no sound, check your PC if the Audio output is configured to HDMI/DP output.
This monitor has no speakers. (Like John Hammer1 mentioned). The no speakers feature was one of the reasons I chose this monitor.
