HT1725 My first time purchasing, downloading and watching a movie from itunes worked fine but the second did not! An error (unknown error 50) kept coming up no matter how often I tried resuming the download or restarting my laptop and internet connection
My first ever purchase and download of a movie was successful but the second didn't download and came up with
"error 50 has occured". I tried downloading numerous times again after checking my internet connection and rebooting my
laptop. Still no luck and the Itunes store have charged me. Any suggestions please?

You can connect the iPad to your Mac's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, that should copy it over to the Movies part of your library.
Depending upon what country that you are in, and whether the film studio allows it, you might also be able to re-download it on your Mac via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page. -
I have just recently installed ios6 to my iPad 3 an iPhone 4 my iPhone works fine but my iPad is not working at all I can not get a response from it, it seemed to download an then install but did not reset and turn on and will not turn on HELP!! Withdrawal or what!! Lol

Firstly, try a hard reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears.
If this doesn't work, try restoring your device. Put it in recovery mode if iTunes doesn't recognise it, and restore it from there. I have linked to instructions below.

When I restart my iPad the connect to iTunes comes up and stays on until it shuts down again, I have read a report from Apple support suggesting I reinstall iTunes so I might try that again and also your suggestion which i shall also try, but thanks again - rg1547

I have ATV2 and the correct version of ITunes yet when watching a movie from ITunes, ATV2 will drop it mid way through and then will claim home sharing is not activated in ITunes. Can anyone offer advice please?
yepp, I have done numerous tests today, skipped router and hard wired betwenn PC and appletv3. same problem.
same network, but from my laptop, works like a charm.. so its not reproducable on all machines.

We were watching a movie from iTunes on our Apple TV and it froze with about 10 minutes left... just a spinning disk. Network was fine, I could run Netflix, I could choose other content via AppleTV or iTunes... but the movie only gives spinning disk when I go back to it. I confirmed settings on AppleTV and reset the unit without any result. iTunes indicates I have 21 hours left on the rental. I would like to be able to finish the movie and not have to rent it again.
Any thoughts? Anything that needs to be done in Samsung TV settings?How did you verify network was fine?
Netflix adapts to the network whereas iTunes needs a consistently solid connection. What other content did you try?
What is your current connection via speedtest
Go to istumbler (Mac) or netstumbler (PC) to get a report of the network
Make sure DNS is set to automatic. -
Can you access paid for apps/movies from iTunes on another device if you have not synced? I purchased movies on my new iPad, but need to delete some off as have no space left. I have not synced the movies I have purchased on my iPad to any other devices as yet and want to know if I can retrieve the movies from iTunes later if I removed them now without syncing first? I do not want to forfeit my purchases.. Please help!

You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option which is revealed in the iTunes app on your iOS device by tapping the more button at the bottom of the screen.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.
Try deleting the problematic book (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iBook store.

I bought and retend a movie from itunes.
The Trailer had Portuguese subtitles.
The film rented hasn´t subtitles in Portuguese.
How should do for get a version with Portuguese subtitles ?If the film's description page in the store says that it has Portuguese subtitles then they should show as an option when playing it : iTunes: Language settings for video - Apple Support
If it doesn't show an option then the film might have been mis-labelled in the store, in which case try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

HT4095 Watching rented movie from iTunes on my iPad in the middle of nowhere...
If I'm driving in the middle of nowhere will a rented movie from iTunes play fine on my iPad? Or not if the internet connection is potentially intermittent or sporadic?
As long as the movie has completely downloaded, you will not need an Internet connection at all.

Some months ago I changed my email address and so my appleID. Everything worked fine, but last week my ipad broke and when I tried to restore my icloud backup in my new ipad it does not work: it asks me for the password of the OLD appleID (it doesnt work); and in icloud configuration page the field for appleid is colored grey so I can not change it.
any clues? thank you in advanceMy suggestion is to change apple id back. I know it is not something you want to hear, but there are suppose to be ways around it and usually they work, but not right now. I suspect that is consequences of Apple getting their servers ready for ios7. Normally in your situation - you should be able to get all your stuff back, but apps, and then you can sync those or download from icloud. But lately (last week) it does not seem to work normal way.

As long as the films have been fully downloaded then you should be able to watch them without an internet connection.

I'm an oldtimer and have had this Mac for less than 2 yrs and have LOTS to learn - but I've climbed the curve a little. !'ve made several movies and published to YouTube and burned to disc using IDVD with reasonably good results. Each time I have added stills to my movies it has worked fine - but tonight, I'm suddenly unable to add them. I click "Photos" - select my photo - left click the photo and drag into the project while holding the click. Have the green "+" and the green highlight and even get the green vertical bar in the project but when I release the click, the photo simply disappears! One "clue" here may be this: I was able to add one still to this project and the only diff between it and the other still thumbnails now is that there is a "green check mark" on the thumbnail of the one successfully added. Any suggestions? (I do have the "advanced tools" option selected in IMovie Preferences.)

My first thoughts are
• iMovie ill behaving - Trash the iMovie pref file - use to set things right
• in reg. to Photos - Did You change iPhoto Photo Library - Then iMovie get's lost as it peeks into iPhoto on start up to see where photos are stored. Set iPhoto back to first Photo Library (when iMovie is not running) then start iMovie.
