HT1727 How do I copy books I have purchased to another computer

My Wife and I have seperate iTunes accounts. We both have a Windows computer each running Vista. How can we transfer books which either of us has purchased from the bookstore to the each other so that we can both read them on our iPads (we have one each) without having to buy two copies of each book - which is silly?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't transfer content purchased under one account to another. It isn't really silly, if that were allowed the whole world could read that book and only one copy would need to be purchased.

My laptop no longer works and I had purchased movies from iTunes which were downloaded on it. How can I recover these movies on another computer?

You copy them from the old computer or the backup of the old computer to the new computer.

  • How to gift a book i have purchased

I purchased a book on Itunes and downloaded it to my IPad. I loved the book and now want to give a copy to a friend. Can I 1) give him my copy of the book, or 2) if not, how can I buy him a copy and sned it to him?

thanks for your answer. To be more specific, I was describing an electronic version of a book that I read on an IPad. I liked the book and wanted to buy a copy for a friend.I understand I cannot give him my copy, as I could with a hardcopy version. I was trying to figure out how to do this in ITunes Store. the tricky  part is that if I go to the book in the store, the store  shows me that I already have bought the book--it does not give me the option to buy it again, but only to download it.
it seems to be possible to give music or movies "as a gift" in the ITunes Store, but not to give a book as a gift.

  • How do I copy text from one layer to  another?

I have Googled this but not a single answer seems to work.
    I am using Photoshop CS4 on OS X 10.6.7.
OK, so  I  have a layer that  has some text in it.  I would like to  be able to  simply copy that  text  from one layer  to  another, but this seems to  be impossible as the Edit Paste menu item is grayed out after I have copied it in to the clipboard.  I can paste it into  the SAME layer, but not into another layer.
This is how I am trying to  do  this.
In the layer  with the text, click on the "T" icon to  the left.
Click on the text, in the layer that I  want to  copy.
I select the text (either  by  clicking and dragging or pressing Command-A).
    Next I press Command-C.
Then I  click on the layer In the Layer Panel) where I want to  paste the text.
Pressing Command-V is impossible because the Edit-Paste menu option is grayed out!!!!
    WHY??????
Perhaps more importantly, HOW do I copy text  from one layer to  another?

First thing you can simply right click on the Text Layer and choose Duplicate Layer.  But that will create a new Text Lay
er identical to the one you have.
To answer your question in your case....  Create the Text Layer.   Make a New Layer.  Or have the layer you want to paste into visible.
Highlight the text layer in the Layer Palette and Ctrl+Click (Win) Cmd+Click(Mac) so that you see marching ants walking around your text.
    Edit>Copy.
Then highlight your Layer you want to paste into and hit Edit>Paste or Cmd+V / Ctrl+V.

  • How do i copy music from one ipod to another with 1 cord?

how do i copy music from one ipod to another with 1 cord?

You cannot copy content directly from one iPod to another. If the music was purchased from the iTunes Store, you have the following options:
    - sync the iPod to your computer, transfer the content to iTunes, and then connect the other iPod and sync from iTunes
    - use iCloud (which requires iOS 5).
    - download the music from from the iTunes Store to the second iPod. See:

Try logging out of your account on the iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if you can then update the app.
If you do delete the app then you should be able to re-download your ibook purchases via the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the app. But in case some of them are no longer available in the store and/or you have PDFs or epubs in it, then you could first connect it to your computer's iTunes and do File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11) which should copy them over to the Books part of your iTunes library so that you have your own copy of them and can sync them back (even though they aren't iTunes purchases it should also copy over any PDFs or epubs that you have in the iBooks app)

  • I have an ancient laptop (from 2005) that has my entire music library. This laptop barely works and some keys don't type anymore. How can I get all this music transferred to another computer, or available to me on the cloud?

    No... do not move programs.
    About the iTunes library files
Your iTunes library files track the media you add to iTunes, how you've organized it, and other information such as playlists. By default, these two files are in your iTunes folder:
    Mac OS X: /Users/username/Music/iTunes/
    Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
    Windows Vista: C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes\
    Windows 7: C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes\
    Windows 8: C:\Users\username\My Music\iTunes\

  • How do you copy automation from one track to another?

How do you copy automation from one track to another? Occassionally I mistakenly blow away a track's automation. I open up an earlier version of the song to try to get the automation. It doesn't seem that you can copy and paste the data. After some struggle, I find a way. Is there an easy way?

    1. Copy the track containing the desired automation to another track. (create a track below it to keep things organized)
    2. Double click on the region and delete the notes.
    3. Now copy the region to the desired track.
P.S. Of course when Logic asks if you want to copy the automation data you say yes)

If you failed to maintain a backup copy, then you would have to import the disks again.
