HT1727 How do I transfer iTunes songs when old computer died?

Old computer died so cannot deauthorize. So how do you move contents? Yes I do have a backup.

It should be a matter of restoring the ITunes folder from the backup of \Users\<User>\Music into your current user's music folder.
Should your restored backup not contain the complete library see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones, audiobooks), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
    Select the iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
    Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
    You can re-download your available previous purchases.
    Now you know why people invest in a backup drive.
