HT1750 unable to update IOS X because pw is forgotten

Question

I am unable to update my IOS X because I do not remember the password.  There are no security questions or pw reset options.

If you are not able to enter the login or administrator password for your Mac, in order to update OS X, see this article for help:

If you are not able to enter your Apple ID password when using the Mac App Store, use these instructions to reset your password:
If you have access to the email addresses associated with your Apple ID
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com).
Click "Reset your password."
Enter your Apple ID and click Next.
Select "Email authentication" as your authentication method. Click Next.
Apple will send a message to the primary email address or verified rescue email address associated with your Apple ID. Open the message and click "Reset Apple ID password".
When the My Apple ID page opens, enter and confirm your new password, then click Reset Password.
If you need to reset your security questions (which should not be required to update applications using the Mac App Store), you can use this method:
Navigate to My Apple ID using your web browser.
Click "Manage your account"
When prompted, sign in using your Apple ID and password.
Click Password & Security
You'll be asked to answer 2 of your 3 security questions before you can make any modifications. If you are unable to remember your answers, you can choose to send an email to your rescue email to reset your security questions.
However, if you're not able to remeber your Apple ID password, or receive email to a rescue email address, you can contact iTunes Store Support for help:
