Im trying to copy selected albums to a memory stick,I cant see how too??

You can use iTunes to do this.  Insert the memory stick into your computer and open it up as a folder.  Now go back to iTunes, highlight the tracks you want to copy, then drag them into the memory stick folder.
If you normally run iTunes in full-screen mode, make it smaller so that you can do the drag.
The drag-n-drop puts a copy of the song file(s) onto the stick, and does not change anything in your iTunes libarry.  Try it first with a single song file, so you can see how it works, and then do your full albums.

  • Maintain keyword when export photo to memory stick

When you assign a keyword to an image, is there a way to export the image such that the keyword (e.g. 'family') remains associated with it?
In other words, the ideal would be that you could export to a memory stick and the keyword would "stick" to that picture so that you could take it to another computer and use iphoto (or some other program) to identify that picture by keyword rather than filename.

    Terence,
Bad news. I went ahead and skipped 07 and upgraded to iPhoto8. It appears that either your advice was incorrect or this feature was broken in 08. Adding keywords within iPhoto08 does not actually change the EXIF metadata.
I added keywords within iPhoto08 and exported the image to the desktop. I then used MacMetaShow and found that the exif data was not modified. I did some Googling and found a few complaints that this is still a problem. I suppose it is possible that MacMetaShow is not reading the data correctly so I will try to find a different program to verify this.
Can anybody else corroborate this problem?

  • Export itunes to memory stick - to be used in Ford Synch

I have two questions maybe somebody can answer either or both.
I am getting a Ford with MS Synch installed. I think plugging a ipod or into the usb port and leaving it is a $$ waste since I can control it using voice recognition and do not need to touch the ipod. Also I am concerned about the heat or cold affecting the device.
As an option I can use a USB memory stick with Synch
How can I export my Itunes library and playlists to a memory stick?
Has anybody tried this and access it from Synch? Are playlist and artist, genre etc preserved? Synch can recognize them. But will Itunes output all this info to the stick? Or will I just get a sequential list of songs? Would I have to sort itunes or any other special prep?
    Thanks in advance.

i have the same problem.  i'm trying to upgrade my pm8pm-v motherboard to 2gb of ram.  right now i have 2 ultra pc2-4200 533mhz 512mb sticks in and they work fine but only give me 1g total ram.  i tried 2 sticks of 1gb crucial ddr2 pc2-6400 in each slot.  the motherboard would only recognize 512mb in each slot, no higher.  i thought it might be the crucial memory, so i returned that and purchased 1 stick of 1gb corsair xms2 pc2-6400.  the pdf file on msi's memory help page state that the corsair memory should work.  however, again, the memory slots on the motherboard would only recognize 512mb worth of ram in either slot.  for some reason, i cant get over 1gb of total ram off this motherboard.
any one have any ideas?  is there something in the bios that i need to change?  i've never had this much problem in upgrading memory before.  usually its just click it in and you are good to go.  this is very frustrating.
    thanks.

  • Burn music to memory stick

CCan music from my iTunes library be burned/copied to a memory stick/ memory card

On the basis that a picture's worth a thousand words ... arrange your screen so that you can see iTunes and Windows Explorer at the same time.
in iTunes, show the songs that you want to copy
in Windows Explorer, open the thumb drive / memory card that you want to copy to.
    Then:
In iTunes, select all the songs that you want to copy. In this example, its everything in a playlist so Ctrl-A on the keyboard will select everything in the playlist.
Hold down the left mouse button and move the pointer to the open Windows Explorer window
Release the mouse button - the songs will now copy
so that you end up with this:
You can do the same thing without having both iTunes and Windows Explorer visible on screen at the same time:
In iTunes, and with the songs selected as before, press Ctrl-A on the keyboard or click the right-hand button on the mouse and select Copy
Switch to Windows Explorer, again with the thumb drive / memory card open
Press Ctrl-V on the keyboard or right-click with the mouse and select Paste

  • How can I save 350 photos to a memory stick randomly.

I need the photos to be stored in the usb memory stick in a random order. They will be veiwed (by an old tv), in the order they are saved.

When you export to the memory stick you're restricted to whatever the file system on the stick supports. There is no file system that supports "random". It will support sizing on size, name, type and so on. Random would be a feature of the TV playback feature.

  • Exporting Music From iTunes To Flash/Memory Stick

So I did a search and the most relevant thread I could find is this one: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5923574&#5923574
Basically I'm going on a road trip with a friend who has a stereo head unit with a USB port, so you can plug in flash/memory sticks/cards (I'm spacing on the true terminology here). He asked if I bring along some tunes.
So I have a 2 gig stick that I want to load up.
Is it as easy as that thread above says? Make sure the tunes are in mp3 format, highlight, copy then paste?
Or is there an easier/better way to do this?
    Thanks in advanced.
    MM

If the stereo will play AAC, you can do that.
If it only accepts MP3, you will need to convert them.
iTunes prefs -> Advanced - Importing.
    Set it to MP3.
Create a new playlist and add all the songs you want to convert.
    Select all the songs.
Go to menu Advanced -> Convert selection to MP3.
When it's done, delete the playlist you just created.
    Create a new Smart playlist;
    Match rule;
    Date created is today
    Kind contains MPEG Audio
This should show everything you just converted.
Select all the songs and drag to the flash drive.

  • Export from itunes onto memory stick

I have been trying to export my music in MP3 form from iTunes onto a memory stick for use in my car. I can't figure out how to do this. There is lots of information about transferring music to another Apple product, but not a memory stick. I'd appreciate any help.

If the songs are not already in MP3, create MP3 versions using the document 1550 that Niel references.
Insert the memory stick in your computer and open it so it looks like a folder. Then highlight the songs in iTunes and drag them to the folder. This will cause the songs to be copied to the memory stick.
If you happen to be running iTunes in full screen mode, make it smaller so that you can see the folder and you will know what you are doing.

  • Can i export an album from iphoto to a memory stick with the album title to identify the the file

I would like to put my photos as per album on to a memory stick, can this be done with the named albums, so I can highlight the album then open the chosen title and then select the chosen photo, I only have iphoto on my mac and have a 32GB memory stick,  Hazel

If you want you can export the contents of that album via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option and select File Name  = Use Album Name with Number and each photo will be exported with the Album Name as the file name followed by a sequential number, i.e. Album Name-01.jpg, Album Name-02.jpg, etc.
Then put them in a folder and drag the folder onto the memory stick.

  • How do I export versions to a memory stick

    Hi
I said that I would do a wedding for a friend, although know I wish I had not and just stuck to Landscape photography.
He is going to require the adjusted version, "i believe" so, all I want to do is export adjusted versions, possibly masters to a DVD or Memory stick but I can find nothing that actually tells you how to do this.
I hope someone can explain how to do this as I cannot afford to make a mistake.
    Thanks

Will he be able to use a memory stick formatted for  Mac, OS X Extended.
He will not be able to read a stick formatted for Mac. Use the filesystem that the stick will come preformatted with. That will usually be a file system that both mac and Windows systems can write to.
Just avoid long filenames with ethnic characters, when you are naming the files.
The memory stick will be better than a CD/DVD.
    To elaborate on Frank's answer:
    Insert the USB stick:
Select the images you want to export in the Browser .
Use File > Export > Versions
Select your USB stick in the file chooser.
For the highest quality use "Jpeg > Original size" (or" tiff > Original size")
Select a naming scheme in the export dialog.
    Export.
If you want to write several USB sticks, you may want to export to a folder on your Desktop and copy this folder to each stick using the Finder.

  • Exporting playlists to ext. memory stick? Please help.

Anyone know if it is possible to transfer/export playlists from itunes to an external memory stick?
I am hopping there is an easier way to export the playlist as a whole rather that manually dragging and dropping individual tracks using finder?
Can anyone help us on this one?

Thanks for your advice Jolly but I have tried to export and drag the playlist into the memory stick using finder and only the .txt file is transferred. Must I be doing this incorrectly?
no. i may have misinterpreted your intention. i thought you wanted to put the playlist on another computer. you can import the resulting .txt file in iTunes on another computer, however, the actual tunes would have to be present in the other machine's library for the playlist to work.
It seems to work if I select multiple files from the playlist then drag to memory stick.
    yes.
I hope there is a simpler way.
there ain't. you could burn the playlist as an mp3 CD which can be imported on another machine ...

  • Copy music from iTunes to USB Memory Stick

I am doing what I am supposed to do:
I highlight the songs I want to copy in iTunes.
I drag them to a fold in the USB Memory stick.
Every once in a while I get this error:
The item “name of song.mp3” can’t be replaced because it’s invisible.
I am dragging 100 songs at a time.  This happens about 1/3 of the time.  I then delete this "invisible" file.  Sometimes, when I go back to the iTunes song, I can drag it from iTunes to the momory stick.  Other times, I have to go to the file and drag it to the memory stick.
I have a 32 GB USB memory stick that I am loading up to play in my car radio.  Doing this 100 songs at a time is taking me days....
I am on OS 10.6.8.   I do have the OS setup so that I can see the invisible files.
It looks like, when I drag the music in, grayed out icons appear until the files copy.  Sometimes those icons apparently appear as invisible files.
The USB is formatted as MS-DOS (FAT) which is the way it arrived.  I suspect that these memory sticks have to be formatted that way for the radio to read the files, but I have not tried the Mac format.

After you copy the files to the flash drive...
    Open Terminal (in Applications/Utilities)
    Enter: dot_clean
    spacebar
drag the flashdrive from the Desktop to the Termnal window
    press enter

  • Exporting a slideshow created on iPhoto onto memory stick

I am trying to export a 10 minute slideshow that i have created on iPhoto.
I am trying to put this onto a memory stick as it is being projected onto a wall in a performance i am doing.
At the moment it is telling me that there is not enough room on my memory stick, altough there is a lot of free space so does this mean the slideshow has to be compressed?
Also i am exporting it onto my desktop and its taking a really long time is this normal?

See, A ten minute long slide show with effects is like a huge 500MB file if you are exporting it in the the largest or all screen sizes available... so it takes like 15-20 minutes to export it and IT IS NORMAL. When it comes to exporting to Thumb drive... It is recommended for you to export it first to Macintosh SSD/HDD ( This will make the xport faster too ) and then you can transfer it to thumb drive.

  • How can I export a movie from iMovie onto a memory stick?

I am unable to load my movie onto a memory stick. The movie is about 80minutes long or just under 12gigabites. I tried loading it first onto a 16g and couldn't then on a 32g and kept getting the same message: The file format was too big to fit on that memory stick. Is there a special storage device that I need to use?

I thought I did, but looks like I didn't. Key word is "Partition." Then hit apply.
    Got it to work.
