HT1752 how do I go back from OS 10.8.3 to 10.6.8?

Aloha: I really knew better, but I just couldn't help it. the new operating system sounded great and it was very inexpensive. how could I go wrong?
Let me, but count the ways.
After about a 6 hour wait for the download, but that was no skin of my nose. I stayed productively busy on other projects that had to be accomplished anyway, while the program was downloading.
The feces hit the fan when after all was setteled and the machine was back to working, I could find nothing of my old data. For example, my old budget program that I started back in 1986 and I have added features to ever since. It keeps track of all my income and expenses and makes sure I don't spend more than I can afford. It was a thing of beauty and worked like a well-oiled clock! Gone to the big bit-bucket in the sky!
No, wait, there it is I FOUND it!!! No! Wait again! It and alot of my other pograms were written over the years in Microsoft Ofice programs and 10.8.3 doesn't know from nothing about Microsoft Office. All those documnts have a big bar across them. And I keep finding more of my programs with that big bar!
I'll gladly swallow the $15 the OS set me back to have these programs workiing again. Because if I have to buy new ones it will cost me hundreds of $'s
But first I have to get back to OS 10.6.8. So, pleeeeze don't tell me that's impossible.
I am pretty sure that all m soft ware still lives on the many hard drive I have in and/or connected to to my tower. I did finallly locate all my software.
So if worse comes to worse I'll just remove all the hard drives, toss the Old Tower into the ocean off Maui, buy a used one, install 10.6.8 (if it's not allready on there) and be back in business>
However, I am now hoping that you can tell me how I can simply dump 10.8.3 and go back to 10.6.8. That would be the best of all worlds.

The dropping of PowerPC is well known since 2011 end of Rosetta.
A clean install is safer.
RoaringApps has a compatibility table and matrix.
Dual Boot. Keep the old system as is and do not install 10.7+ on top of it.
Clone your systems as needed.
Of course you can go back.

If it's in recovery mode, anything on the phone is already gone. Restore the phone using iTunes, then restore it from your last backup. If you've been backing up on a regular basis as intended, you won't lose anything except what's changed since the last backup.

You cannot downgrade the iOS, there is no supported method.
Google streetview was not lost, Google Maps were removed from iOS6 and replaced with Apple Maps.

How to get data back from an action ?

Would it be possible to get data back from an action (out of the question EO_MESSAGE & ET_FAILED_KEY )?
For example we got an order with order positions and we need a "function" to e.g. count all positions. Because of Performance the function should not be processed each time the order is changed, read or a position is added. Instead the function should be processed only if it was called explicitly.
Is it possible to create a kind of action which is actually counting all entries and export the number of them?
How to mark a parameter in is_parameters as exporting?
Is this just done by (naming-) convention?
What is the preferred way to have “methods” with returning/exporting values?

As you have already figured out , the Action API provides you with only the messages and failed keys if any.
Post action execution , you can always execute a retrieve or retrive by association , to get the latest buffer snapshot , which of course would include the changes that you have made in your action.
If you want to ensure that users have explict control on execution of your "fucntion", then of course , you should model it as an action on the BO.
The parameter is_parameters is an IMPORTING parameter. You CANNOT use it to export anything back from the action. For importing , you can of course have any structure to use as the is_paramaters , which you model as the action parameter structure which modelling your BO action.
From an external entity the only way to interact with a BO is by consuming the BO services and you are bound by the BOBF standard interfaces. Any and all data you require needs to be modelled as node attributes ( persistent or transient ) and fetched using the RETRIEVE, RETRIEVE_BY_ASSOCIATION or QUERY services.

Restored my 4S. How to get pictures back from the cloud?

Background: I had a 3GS and on launchday of the 4S I picked one up. A white 32GB on AT&T to be exact.
I had been having some issues with the battery, so today I figured I'd try and start fresh. Well, I backed up everything on the cloud, and I also backed up everything onto the computer in iTunes when I did the restore.
I've got my music back. Cool.
I've got my apps back. Great.
I can't seem to figure out how to get my photos from the camera roll back. Nor do I know how or if it is even possible to get the photos and my old text messages back on this new restore. Also, none of my mail is coming back either.
I can see my most recent backup in the iphone settings under iCloud. And I can also see my most recent computer backup on the computer. But I'm not sure what I need to do.
Any help would be great. Thanks.

OK - understood.
There are a couple of ways of going about this. First, my recommended method:
Restore from a backup (so your photos, SMS etc are on the phone
Connect to iTunes
Set the phone to sync photos to a relevant app on your desktop (what app depends whether you're Windows or Mac) - this gets your pics onto the desktop and safe.
If you want to save SMS, use PhoneView (Mac) or TouchCopy (Windows) or similar to copy them off the phone
Restore the phone as a new device
Get the photos back the way you got music etc back - via iTunes sync
The second method entails using one of the utuilities around the place that can extract from the backup - I have no experience with them, so I don't know how well they work. That's why I go for the first method - simpler, more robust.

What I would like to do is to force all Number(8) columns in the DB to come back as ADO type integer - not adNumeric as they currently do....

No, at that level of abstraction you don't have any control over it. Not sure if it is something you can map even at the API level as I think the driver is mapping them to SQL_C_NUMERIC.

I can't reproduce the problem on my machine. Here's what I started with:

And the months in the income table chosen via a pop-up (I think you said that is what you are doing, though you might be better of with the using date-time since you will have months in more than one year):
And even when I change the format to date-time it still gives the expected result:
I think the app is doing what it is supposed to here. Perhaps you can try entering your formula again and fill right and see if that gives you the result you expect.

2014.0.1 destroys my ability to upload large files to YouTube which I need to be able to do. The functionality was fine before the new .01 which went online Thursday 7/25.
Tech Support advised me to uninstall then stop the re-install at 90%. All that did was cancel my re-install.
I can't believe they broke the YouTube upload as regards large files (greater than 1 hour, it seems). Someone PLEASE try to get back and answer this. I'm dead in the water on an important project. Thanks...

No, YouTube doesn't reject it BUT it complains bitterly that the file is not a streaming file and then it won't process it properly. An example is here: Ridgewood, NJ GONDOLIERS Act 1, Connelly Theater May 18, 2014 - YouTube
The video was uploaded using essentially the protocol but with the bit rate reduced to 8Mbps. 16 makes files of RIDICULOUS size (exactly DOUBLE) and contrary to the claims on the page describing the 2014.0.1 upgrade 8 Mbps is recommended unless you have an "enterprise-quality" connection.
I used the word "protocol" to identify the preset where PPro/AME purports to export, say, "YouTube 1080p". My assumption out of the box was that the engineers knew what they were doing. I now believe they didn't test thoroughly before foisting this off on an unsuspecting public.
Here's how I reached my conclusions. That GONDOLIERS (both acts) is a 2 hour 15 minute show. On July 4 I uploaded the full show to YouTube and one of the performers complained about the use of his name. We immediately pulled the video "private" and I agreed to wait a week or so and then re-upload. Note that the original uploaded fine and displays fine. The link I offered you goes to a video that I predict will never display at full resolution; at current time it is displaying at 360p although uploaded in a beautiful 1080p. I had originally uploaded the larger file at 16GB. YouTube complained that the format wasn't streaming, so I ran it through "MP4 FastStart" which usually cures that, but in this case it didn't. Further testing reveals that the MOOV Atom is going in the right place but I suspect it's not being written correctly on larger files, and that YouTube is having considerable trouble as a result. I then re-uploaded it to YouTube which complained, again, but ingested it...but it didn't create thumbnails (the black&white out-of-focus icon they display until processing is completed, was what came). After several hours (like Act 1 above) it hadn't gone above 360p. The original 8GB file created with 2014.0 I had to reset the MOOV Atom using MP4 FastStart but once I did that it worked perfectly.
An early troubleshooting test when I realized there was a problem was to take a 1 1/2 minute excerpt which processed perfectly. No demand to use a streaming format; no problem processing or displaying. The problem comes with files of significant size; 2 hours 15, 1 hour 15. 52 minutes worked okay.
This has NOT been a good weekend. As you read above I had managed to get the older versions of PPro and AME back on my machine. This causes other craziness (the YT full upload is going to take more than 15 hours; due to ANOTHER bug - I think squashed in the newer version - if the CC 2014 file has TITLES from the older CC version, it somehow interferes with processing. My fancy i7-4770K isn't breaking a sweat while this is happening. Usually I'm running at 99% CPU capacity and right now its about 18%. Normally if I see such a throttle-back I assume perhaps a cooling problem but I have none. It's just running beastly slow. I HATE having to work this way...and it doesn't help that it's on a weekend so I can't even get tech involved until Monday.

Yosemite: How do I get back from full-screen to original window size?

Okay, so today I used iPhoto for the first time since I reluctantly upgraded to Yosemite on Friday.
iPhoto is one of the few apps I often take into full-screen mode, and so obviously I noticed today that they've kindly taken away the full-screen arrows in the top right-hand corner of the window in Yosemite.
Posting a question about that in Support revealed the 'new improved' way to go full-screen, which is to click on the green traffic light in the top left-hand corner of the window.
Fair enough, but how do I get my iPhoto window back to the size it was before I went full-screen? I tried clicking the green-button again, but that insists on the window being what I call 'maximised', ie. spread across the entire width of my desktop. I want to snap from full-screen back to the window size I had before going full screen.
The arrows in the top right-hand corner used to do that perfectly well, but they're not there any more so I'm having to resort to laboriously re-sizing my window each time, which is far from ideal.
Anyone able to advise me please?

Do we know if it is iPhoto-specific, or do all app windows behave in this way?
Actually, I suppose I could find that out for myself...
