  • HT1766 how can developers backup their iPhones via the new software update iOS 7.0.6

I'm a current Apple Developer but once I sync my iPhone 5 into the current latest version of iTunes it wants me to restore the phone not back it up. I just want to BackUp my iPhones contents like I used to do with the old iTunes software but this one unfortunately doesn't give me an option to? Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch..

Yes I have the current updated version of iTunes which is 11.1.5. So yeah when I connect my iPhone directly to the MacBook Pro I have tunes pops up and wants me to restore the phone iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone “Enzo’s iPhone”. Go to the Summary tab in iPhone preferences and click Restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings. it doesn't give me any option to click to manually back up or restore. It only happens to my iPhone because I'm a Apple Developer and I called Apple just now and they said it works for non developers but for developers the new update isn't for some reasons working like it should Apple Care wasn't able to give me any help regarding this they told me to contact the developing team so I did but it haven't heard back from the team. My friends iPhone 5 works when I plug it into my computer and it shows what should be showing the normal user interface like manually backup or restore ect... but when I load it up this shows ? iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone “Enzo’s iPhone”. Go to the Summary tab in iPhone preferences and click Restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings."
    Thanks for the help

  • How can I backup my iphone 4 using iTunes 9.1.1? Is there a workaround for this?

How can I backup my iphone 4 using iTunes 9.1.1? Is there a workaround for this? I need to backup my phone for replacement but it tells me I need 10.1 or later. All software is up to date, Operating system is 10.4.11. Thanks!

No sorry. You need to upgrade to v10.5 Leopard (minimum) in order to sync an iPhone 4.
    iPhone minimum requirements:
Mac computer with USB 2.0 port
Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later
    iTunes 10.1 or later
    iTunes Store account
    Internet access
You can upgrade to Leopard if your Mac meets v10.5 requirements.

If your Mac is Intel, you can upgrade directly to Snow Leopard if your Mac meets 10.6 Snow Leopard - Technical Specifications

how can I see my iphone backup to my hp computer - I want to actually see some of the files on the backup to be sure it actually worked

You can't see them as such.  The entire backup is stored as a database, sql file.  You can find the backup file here:
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the Application Data folder, click Start, and choose Run. Type %appdata% and clickOK.
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press theReturn key.
You will need an sql reader to view the contents,

  • HT1766 How can I have multiple iphones on itunes and prevent them from having the info from one ipone going to the other

How can I have multiple iphones on itunes without them sharing contact info

If contacts on each iPhone are being synced direct with the same supported address book app on the computer via the iTunes sync process, deselect Sync Contacts under the Info tab for the iPhones that you don't want synced with the same address book followed by a sync.
If each iPhone is sharing the same Apple iCloud account with Contacts enabled for over the air syncing, each iPhone needs its own iCloud account.

  • HT1766 how can I reset my iphone 5 to factory setting? using iTunes?

i need to reset my iphone 5 to factory setting. how can I do it using itunes?

Is there a special reason to do it with iTunes? You can do it on the phone by going to Settings/General/Reset - Erase all content and settings.
To do it using iTunes connect the phone to your computer using a USB port directly on the computer, not a USB hub. Click on its name in iTunes, then click Restore iPhone. When the Restore finishes choose to set up as a new device.
Note that for either method you will have to disable Find my iPhone first, either in Settings/icloud on the phone or by logging in to https://icloud.com/find.

  • How can I backup my iPhone 3Gs and install iOS 5 when my PowerMac G3 cannot update to the latest iTunes?

I have a PowerMac G3 that's running Tiger OS 10.4.11, iTunes 8.2.1, a Mac mini running Lion 10.7.3, and iTunes 10.5.3. My iPhone is a 3Gs with IOS 4.3.5 and was originally synced to the PowerMac G3. I went to back up my iPhone so that I could install IOS 5 but when I plugged the iPhone into the G3, I got the message saying that I have to download the latest iTunes. The phone wasn't even recognized.  What do I need to do at this point? I'm getting pretty frustrated at this point.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone...  :-)

    Couple of possabilities,
1 - As Andea says, use the MacMini but start a new backup from your 3Gs iPhone, so that you can restore if the upgrade to IOS 5 goes pear shaped. A backup doesn't hold your Apps, Music or Movies, just the settings and App data etc.
2 - Copy your entire iTunes folder from the G3 to the Mini, then when you want to sync the iPhone all the music etc. can be kept in sync as before.
Not sure if you sync your address book, iCal and e-mail from iTunes or via the Cloud, if the former you'd need to put a copy of these also on the Mini

  • HT1766 How can I backup pictures on 1st gen. ipad to my 10.5 G5 power mac?

I tried doing this before but discovered itunes wipped out all of our grandchildren pictures. Can't lose the pictures again. I need a step by step solution.

When you upgrade the device, it is erased in the process. If you backup first, you should be able to restore from the backup, sync with iTunes and all should be OK. So obviously, something went wrong.
I must still be missing something because I would have thought that an Apple Store Genius would know about this. Importing photos from the iPad to the Mac is pretty basic stuff if you have iPhoto or Image Capture on the Mac.

Apps like this one should work for you as well. I think that this will work with Leopard on the Mac.

  • How can I backup my iPhone with an unresponsive touchscreen?

I dropped my iPhone and the screen didn't crack but the touch screen is no longer responsive and neither is my home button.  I tried to back it up on my macbook but to do that I must type in my passcode on my iPhone which isn't possible because of the unresponsive screen.

It's too late for that. If you already had a sync relationship set up with your Mac (or a PC for that matter), then it wouldn't be asking for a passcode unless you had changed it since the last sync.  Now that the screen is unresponsive, there is no way to back it up to a computer. If it was set up to back up to iCloud, then you will hopefully have that to fall back on. If it was not, you're going to lose your data if the device has to be replaced or restored.
