HT1766 How to restore iCloud Back Up from an Older iPhone Model to New
I lost my iPhone recently. I purchased the latest version (my previous version was older model), and attempted to restore an icloud back up that had all my photos / music, but it won't let me. Keeps telling me my account has been locked, and to reset password, but I've already done all that / verified applied ID, etc. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I need to get my photos / music off of iCloud. I also pay for storage so I'm not sure why it's holding my stuff hostage.
Restoring from an older iOS to a newer iOS version is fine. It's going the other way that would be a problem.
You do need a late version of iTunes on your computer to be able to work with the new iPhone. The current iTunes version is 11.1.3. If your iTunes is old, download the latest from

Setup your new phone, then update to iOS 8.1.3. Once done: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings". At the setup screen you'll now be able to select your old phone's backup.

The voicemail system used for the iPhone is different from the voicemail system used on the rest of the Verizon Wireless network. When you activate the iPhone, you lose your saved voicemails from the other system. When you activate a non-iphone, you lose any saved voicemails from the iPhone voicemail system too.

Unfortunately you do not have direct access to iOS backs in iCloud.
I am not sure what you mean by:
It's locked with an enterprise (third party code)
Do you mean it is a corporate device and managed by Mobile Device Management software?
If so the IT department can reset the passcode.
Other than that, there is no third party iOS app that can lock the device at that level unless it is jailbroken and then no one here can help you. -

Migration Assistant (Finder > Applications > Utilities > Migration Assistant) is the tool that you would use to restore backups from older Macs to another Mac.

Restore from the iCloud backup - assuming that you were backing up to iCloud in the first place. If you weren't using iCloud for backup - then you are out of luck.
If you were backing up to iCloud - you have to erase all contents on the iPad in Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings - before you can restore from the iCloud backup.

My phone was not backed up on icloud due to excess storage size for one month. Recently i lost some contacts by accident. and it was backed up on icloud again this morning .so I would like to reinstall from last month back up to get all contacts back. but when i connected to computer, I only have a choice to reinstall from last 5 months ago which was backed up on my computer manually. You cannot selectively restore from iCloud. You can only do a full device restore by resetting the device and choosing to restore from the iCloud backup during the setup process.

Erased all content and settings on 4s ( settings/general/reset)
When option to set phone up chose back up from icloud and my old phones update was there
Problem was i updated new os6 to 4s but never knew i needed to back 4s up after that before resetting phone
