HT1766 I accidentally updated my iphone to IOS 7 without backing up my photos and contacts
my photos and contacts and so on. I think that all of them are deleted. I am bawling my eyes out, crying and crying. All of my college graduation photos are gone. its still downloading. help!!
I have freakin out right now I tore down the house and im still crying all of my childhood memories might be gone is there a way i can stop it with my photos still there

It all started after updating my software to iOS 6.0.1. Contact problems, disappearing automatically, and I have to IMPORT SIM everytime when it happens, to bring my contacts back. And this is happening more when I'm using Whatsapp application. Every two hours using Whatsapp, my contact list is dissapearing, I'm seeing only numbers. I thought it was an Whatsapp problem, but after that, when I go into my Phone's contact list, I can see nothing ! Empty ! So I guess it's a software problem or something. Please help. Thank you.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

There is nothing to do because you need to plug it into a computer and connect to iTunes. If you don't have a computer then there is nothing you can do.

You can't update your iPhone to iOS 7 beta unless you are a registered developer with Apple. iOS 7 will not be available to the public until this Fall, so if you are not a developer you'll just have to wait like the rest of us until it is released.
If you are a deveoper then go and ask this question in your own private deveoper forums and don't discuss anything to do with beta software in a public user forum - you are violating the terms of the NDA that you signed.
It does not sound as if you are a developer, so what you are doing would amount to downloading and installing illegal software on your phone. -

If it's in recovery mode, the data is already gone. Why did you never back up your important data?

THanksSettings>Cellular>Personal Hotspot. The carrier has to support this for you. This is where you should find the setting to turn it on or off.

If you have iPhone 3G, the latest and greatest is IOS 4.2.1.
If you have iPhone 3GS or later, you can only update to IOS 6.0.1.
For iPhone 5 and iPad mini, you can update to IOS 6.0.2. -

Dear Sirs,when i use the computer updating my iphone to ios 7.1,suddenly black out.The computer has no power and my iphone does not work and keep display the screen saying the iphone need to connect to itunes. So when i connect my iphone to iTunes, the computer says"itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. you must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes"
So my question is if I click OK(restore the iphone),will i lose all my data and whatsapp??

hopelessIf you didn't back up the phone to iCloud or iTunes (on your computer) BEFORE attempting the update, the data will be lost.

But TODAY I tried it updating my iPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1 through MY HOME PC Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit after downloading iTune 10.5 & Guys good news is that I UPDATED my iPhone 4..... The plus point of using my windows 7 ultimate PC, even i got the same error twice or thrice but I REUME ALL & then I got the result. I had a similar issue and I was told that my iTunes match was on.
I had to disable iTunes match on my iPhone.
Following which - after you plugged in your iPhone to iTunes, select your iPhone on iTunes menu. You should see a summary page of your iPhone where it provides options to update or restore. On the bottom there should be an option to select "sync only selected music/playlists". I can't remember the exact wording. Once that's been checked, select your iPhone's music tab and it should allow you to select the music playlists you want to sync.
