I know it sounds weird, and that is the reason I posted my question. Because my case is not like all the ones I've found online and it's confusing. I added a screen capture of my itunes with my old iphone (the one that houses my playlists) connected to it.
My playlists "ARE" in my iphone 4s. They are still there even though they do not show up when I plug in to itunes in my computer.
When connecting my phone to itunes on my macbook, the playlists do not appear anywhere in itunes. I have found my connected iphone icon, I have clicked on the arrow next to it and it does pull up the standard lists that come with the iphone/itunes: Music, Movies, TV shows, books. That's it! below that is "Genius" and below "Geniuns" is "PLAYLISTS" but the only playlist of mine that shows there is one that I created several years back titled "90's music" and that one I created it on my computer, not my phone. Under "90's music" there are also other standard playlists that itunes automatically adds.
Does anyone else have this issue or know how to get around this. I am starting to think that I am going to have to recreate these lists on my computer

Firefox 31 changes all PDF icons to Firefox HTML icons that I can not seem to change back, can this be rectified? Using Windows XP.....

Once Firefox 31 is installed it sees all PDF files as Firefox HTML files and changes all of the PDF icons to Firefox HTML icons. This change can not seem to be reversed without uninstalling Firefox.
Only the icon is changed, not the .PDF extension.

Thank you for your reply but it's not that simple:
Windows now thinks that the default file type for .pdf is Firfox HTML Document.
I can change which program opens .pdf files but I can't change the icon.
Not a Firefox problem? Really?
EDIT:
Let me explain further so that you can understand. In folder options / file types I can scroll thru and choose any file type / advanced and change the icon...every one of them except (now) .pdf. There is no advanced tab. Only the message about "restore" I mentioned before.
Firefox changed the file association for .pdf files and now I can't fix it.
And from another thread:
"Firefox 31 is not converting or renaming your files. All it is doing is registering with the Windows OS as an application that is able to open the files and Windows then changes the file's icons accordingly.
This should only occur if no other application has already registered your .pdf files."
Well I guess that's not true is it?

Haven't been able to back up my iPhone for weeks.

For some reason I haven't been able to sync my iPhone recently. I've uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes multiple times yet nothing works. When attempting to sync the phone it will always feeze during the phone back up step. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like you did a lot of burning with your Mac.
Set top DVD players are designed to playback commercial, pressed DVDs with very low error rates. As a result, many models have very limited error correction capabiities.
Writable DVDs can contain a lot of burn errors causing problems in these players.
For best results, you need to use quality media (Maxell or Verbatim) and NOT media like Memorex. You need to burn at low burn speeds - 4x is good, 8x may be OK. If you are burning several discs you MUST allow your burner to cool down between discs!

If it backed up the lock file, then Lightroom was open when Time Machine ran, and the backup therefore may be corrupted. You could try restoring that backup (without overwriting your week ago version) and see if it'll open. If it does, you're off and running. What methods have you tried?

If you get the error "Backup not successful" and you've tried deleting the last backup and trying to back up manually without luck, try the following test: Go to...
Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>manage Storage, tap your device name in the Backups section, then look under Backup options. Turn off all apps from backup and then do a manual backup. If that doesn't work, then this post will not help. If the backup works, then go back to the app list and turn some on and try another backup. If successful, keep repeating these steps. If it fails at some point, then try to zero in on the one app that seems to make the backup fail. (I had this problem and found one app failing, probably due to a corrupt data file.)
This process will take time, but if a backup works with no app data being used but clearly fails with the original settings, then somewhere in the mix of apps is a "bad" one.

Not photos, just data synced with iCloud shown in Settings>iCloud. If you don't have sufficient storage to back up to iCloud, back up to your computer instead using iTunes (connect you phone to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your phone in iTunes, go to ths Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click Back Up Now). Also transfer your purchases to your iTunes library (connect your phone to your computer, open iTunes and go to File>Devices>Transfer Purchases). If you have photo stream photos older than 30 days tha you wan to save, save these to your camera roll before backing up (tap Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon -- box with upward facing arrow, then tap Save to Camera Roll).
When setting up your new phone, when given the option choose Restore from iTunes Backup and restore the backup you made earlier.

well, have you tried renaming the files? sometime videora does this to you and i found taht if you just rename the files for sakes of converting, it'll actually convert it and not just abort the conversion. give it a try

Time machine does not seem to be backing up pictures, music or videos on WD My Book live

We puchased a Western Digital My Book Live to use as an external hard drive. After setting it up with Time Machine and going through the first back up it doesn not look like any of our photos, vidoes or music has been backed up. Is there any way specifically select these items to back up?

HT1766 I do not know how to back up that is why i made the apt i am afraid of loosing my info i did once before. why won't they help me?

I crashed my i phone trying to upgrade. I took it to a Sprint store and they crashed my phone and lost all my iformation. I have made numerous efforts to make a new account and have no success, The reason for the apt is for Apple to save my info before i crash my phone again. I am not tec savvy and i am afraid to try and save the back up infor as i was never told to log on to i cloud. Why won't they help me at the store that is what i need help with to save my info while the delete my old accounts and ger me ONE account and password with back up that works? Why won't they help me do this at the store? just got it working i don't want to loose it again

For from the iTunes store then yes it will be up in the cloud and you can access it anytime .
If the video was downloaded from another website and uploaded to your device ten iCloud will not back it up, but then you could do it by purchasing extra specs from I cloud . If u don't fully understand what am saying email me at [email protected] I hope I was helpful
