I backed up my iPhone 4s. I had to have my phone replaced and when trying to restore my backup, I'm being prompted for a password. I don't know this password. How can I get my information restored?

Start off with a new iPod Touch (as was my situation) and a newly installed iTunes on a computer with minimum possible software installed on both.
1) Make a memory map of the entire contents of both.
2) Then make an UNencrypted backup of the iPod using iTunes.
3) Make new memory maps of both.
4) Then make an encrypted backup.
5) Make new memory maps of both.
By comparing the memory maps, one should be able to find out exactly where on both iPod and computer have been placed the "markers" that indicate an encrypted backup has been made.
Then delete or alter those markers as needed so the history of encryption is removed. Then make an encrypted backup and write down the new password used. -

So I have idea for the solution:
You should put new feature to the iPhone\iPad, so the solution for this that you can let the flash lighting every time when he\she trying to lock or unlock the iPhone\iPad password.
And it's only software editing.

I made this account awhile ago, but I just foud some apps I had purchased on my computer so I downloaded them onto my iPad, but they need to be updated and it asks for my prior account information which I do not know. I tried to send a recovery email, but I never recieved it. How can I update my apps or get my password?

If your contacts are synced to your computer then they are in the supported app you are syncing with.

If on a Mac, and you elected to save such to your Keychain, you can recover it from your Keychain. Otherwise, you can't.
While you can continue to sync/backup, if you can't remember it & want to remove it, you'll have to delete your existing backups & restore the phone as a new device. Your data will be unrecoverable. -

Well, there ya go. The requirement to encrypt your backups has been done by a profile installed on your phone when you setup the Exchange account. The only way around this is to delete the account & profile from your phone.
Try your Exchange password or Domain password. -
