HT1766 I have been trying to back up my iphone it says I have 3.5 GB to 5 GB but I thought my phone had 8 GB. I got a message that it would take 8 hours and then I got a message it couldn't back up. Any one have an idea of what the problem could be?
I have been trying to back up my phone and got a message that it would take 8 hours. I let it go over night and when I looked at it in the morning I got a message my data couldn't be backed up. I though my phone had 8 GB. If I have too much data what items should I delete in order to have my data backed up? I have deleted most of my pictures so I didn't think I had that much data to back up. If any one has experienced this please advise. I think my battery is about to die and I want my data back up ASAP.

I have been trying for two weeks to log into iTunes using my Bank of America Visa Debit card but no progress. Is it that iTunes does not use debit card, I only have a debit card and Not credit card, so does it mean I can't use iTunes .?
I believe if you haven't already setup an itunes account, if you have access to computer with iTunes installed , you can create an iTunes account on that computer with no credit/debit card and then just buy iTunes cards at your local retailer to get credits.

I have a 13" macbook from 2009 and for some reason can no longer change my desktop image by just clicking on an image in system prererences>I-Photo. Does anyone know what the problem could be?
Your Desktop Picture settings and Dock items are stored in the files
/Users/your short user name/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist and
/Users/your short user name/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist
in the "Preferences" folder in your user library. This looks like the system has trouble to write to these files. Check the permissions on your user library and remove the above files from your user library, then log off and on again.
Your user library is hidden in Lion and Mt. Lion. To reveal it, use the Finder's "Go" menu. Select "Go" in the Finder's main menu bar and hold down the alt/option key, until you see the "Library" in the drop-down menu. Double click it to open a Finder window, so you can browse the files inside.

On my Mac Mini, I keep getting this error message: "iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server". I don't have any problems with iCloud on my laptop / PC. It works fine... Does anyone know what the problem could be?
Your Mac must be on Lion (10.7) to run iCloud. Apple had to change the operating system to fully support it. Nevertheless, it is possible to get emails from iCloud without having Lion. Please tell me if this interests you.

I just created my apple id and i tried to sign in on imessage but it keeps saying that it is already in use however this is the first time that i'm using my apple id to sign in on any device,what the problem could be?
You must create the account using an Apple device, a Mac (Lion or greater) or an IOS device (IOS5 or greater). Having done that you will be able to sign in from your Windows machine.
FYI, iCal is an application that can display calendars from iCloud (and others) it is not a calendar itself, merely a calendar client. In Windows Outlook is the calendar client. -
I have been trying to download photos too my MAC. It keeps saying can't create file, please check permissions on destination folder. Ihave made sure I have set the permissions on read and write. What am I doing wrong?

As mentioned above I have just downloaded OSX Maverick to my iMac. I am now having a lot of problems with iCloud. I get the message that "This iMac can't connect to iCloud because of a problem with, and then it goes on to quote my e-mail address. It then says to open iCloud preferences to fix this problem.
I do this and no matter what I seem to do this message continues to return.
Can anybody explain how to resolve this problem (please bear in mind that I am noy very computer literate).

AFTER I UPGRADED TO YOSEMITE, I TRIED TO UPDATE THE FIVE APPS THAT I WAS BEING NOTIFIED NEEDED UPGRADING (IMOVIE, IPHOTO ETC). I TRIED TO UPDATE VIA THE APP STORE BUT GOT A MESSAGE "UPGRADE NOT POSSIBLE WITH THIS APPLE ID BECAUSE IT WAS EITHER BOUGHT BY A DIFFERENT USER OR THE ITEM WAS REFUNDED OR CANCELLED." I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM SIGNING ON TO ICLOUD OR ANY OF THE OTHER SERVICES USING MY APPLE ID, I ALSO CHANGED THE PASSWORD AT THE PROMPTING. SO I'M NOT SURE WHAT IT MEANS. Please test after each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes. Keep in mind that no one here represents Apple or can help with customer-service issues.
Step 1
A purchased app can only be updated by signing in to the App Store with the same Apple ID that was originally used to buy it. There's no way around that limitation, which also applies to free apps. If you're trying to update iLife or iWork apps that were installed from a purchased DVD, or if you have a refurbished Mac bought directly from Apple, contact App Store customer service for a redemption code. You may be asked for the part number of the DVD.
Step 4
From the App Store menu bar, select
Store ▹ View My Account
Enter your Apple ID password at the prompt. At the lower right corner of the window that opens, click the Reset button. Close the window.
Step 5
According to a report, the error can result from changing the language setting of your Apple ID account. I can't confirm. -
I am not that computer literate. I want to know why i can't get my audible books onto my iTunes. I get an error message that says iTunes was inccorectly loaded and i should reload it. Not only do I not know how to do this but i don't think it needs to be done. I have used itunes for other things and it is working perfectly OK. I get an error message 1007

i think its in general settings and storage. this will list your apps and how much room everything is taking. do you have a lot of apps downloaded?

Hi all,
For some time now, my appstore app shows an update available for CodeBox, which I did not buy. When I try to update it it asks for my ID and password (all normal), but then it gives an Unknown Error.
I am 100% sure I didn't buy the app, I do not see any transaction on my card or in the appstore apart of this one, so does not seem to be a hack.
Does anyone know what is happening, this is a tricky thing which is making me lose trust in the payment/account system that Apple is using.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
