Connect your iPod to any computer with iTunes installed, highlight your device and try syncing the apps only. If it doesn't work might have to restore through iTunes. With the new iTunes and iCloud beta, you can have the iTunes list what apps are missing on your device but if you had previously purchased in the past and then have iTunes install them. You should always get in the habit of backing up your iPhone whenever you do any firmware/OS updating/upgrading or transferring over to new device. I really really really really hope you can get back at least some of your old info. I will tell you this, I have been kicking myself in the butt for not routinely backing up my iPhone when my beautiful special iPhone 4 came up missing and had to revert back to my 3GS. iPhone 5 will be released in a few months so I am holding off on purchasing a new iPhone til then, not that I did so without reservation and a little bit of iPhone 4 withdraw.

I hit the "update all" button in the app store and things seemed to get started but never completed. Now all these apps have a "waiting" msg under them. How do I fix this? Thx-Kurt.
turn your ipad off by holding the sleep wake button for 5 seconds and slide to turn off then turn it back on and the apps should be finished and if the apps didnt finish just redownload them

the The Economist icon has disappeared from my iPad. The App store tells that I am have already downloaded Will not download again. How do I get my icon back.
Well, App Store is system app. It might have been moved accidentally to a folder. You might be having an idea of Spotlight search when you swipe the home screen to the left most section, you can search "App Store" and you have the icon of the App Store.
You can try to reset home screen layout by going to settings - general - reset - reset home screen layout
Keep in mind, this will reset all the app folders you've created in the home screen.
If it still doesn't appear, you might have accidentally turned the switch ON to disable App Store in restrictions.
Can be accessed by going to settings - general - restrictions - (Enter passcode if asked) - Turn on the Installing Apps and Deleting Apps switches to ON

HELP! while in France i downloaded the new iPhone iOS 6. When asked to choose a location ( for maps to know what to do) i made the wrong choice and clicked on local, hence France. This scewed up my US iTunes account as well as apps store. . . so ican no longer acces it or download updates. . . it crerated more havoc that ican bare as in iTunes being located in France and in Euros. OUCH. i thought to restore iPhone to factory default. Will that do it or create more problem. (don't want to wtach US movies in French!!!)

i changed my app store from canada to india and for that i'd to update my payment option details for app store and was charged with Rs. 60 twice. once the day i added the card details. and then another one 3 days later. why did that happen?
i read soemwhere that it automatically gets credited back within 3-5 working days.
waited for more than 7 days but no credit was given back.
m feeling bad that i got charged without making any purchase.Each time that you add or change the card details on your account (and possibly also if you change your name and address, as the card needs to be registered to the same name and address as on your iTunes account) you will be charged a temporary store holding charge to check that the card details are valid and that the card is active, but it should disappear within a few days or so (the amount of time that it takes will vary by card issuer) : store holding charge.

App Store - Purchases Tab shows Mavericks - yet already downloaded?

App Store - In the "Purchases" tab I have an option to "download" OS X Maverick. Yet I have already downloaded it and now up and running. Any reason whey it is there?

A.I have this same situation, and a question: if Mavericks shows "Download" so that I can download it again if I need it, why do the other apps show "Installed?" Shouldn't they also show "Download," just in case I need to download them again?
Why is Mavericks handled differently in this regard than the other apps? -
I have been trying to play my movies that I purchased but they have now been down loading for a week.
Why are they taking so long?Cancel the downloads and reset the iPad (Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts off. Ignor the off slider. Then turn the iPad back on). Go back to the Purchased screen in the I.tunes app and redownload. You may want to down load one at a time.

1. Sign out of current Apple ID if you are sign-in to one (important)
2. Go to App Store and select a free app
3. Tap INSTALL APP
4. Create New Apple ID
5. Confirm Your Country
6. Agree with Terms and Conditions
7. Fill in your Apple ID and Password (you must create a new Apple ID; don't use your old Apple ID)
8. Create and answer your secret question
9. Select NONE for Payment Method
10. Fill in Billing Address
11. Submit application for new Apple ID
12. Wait for verification email
13. When email arrive, verify your account
14. Start downloading your free apps -
I would really like to download apps however this isn't possible as safari, app store and itunes are deleted from my homescreen? Where can I go about installing them to the phone again a.s.a.p??
Check Settings > General > Restrictions on Safari, iTunes, etc.

Mac OS X 10.8.5's App Store keeps offering the free 10.10 Mavericks when I manually check for updates. I right clicked and hid this update to make it go away. After I exit App Store and recheck for updates, it returns. Why is it not hiding? I don't want it!

Not sure why it is showing in your updates list as it is not an update. It is an entirely new upgrade which has nothing to do with your currently installed software and OS X. It comes up on the home screen, naturally, as it is Apple's latest OS X which they wish to promote, but I have never seen it in the Software Updates page.

Interesting. Here is what I see everytime I check for Software Updates from Apple's menu: http://i.imgur.com/3tbiySG.png (note its hide update option I used). -
After trying to update all in app store the icons are just staying on waiting position and noting happens
I have posted this quite a few times and some of these suggestions have worked for others in the past. See if anything works for you.
1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
4. If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
5. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. You can also dete apps in Settings>General>Usage>Storage.
6. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
7. If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad. -
How come there are no hidden objects games in the South African App Store and y does safari not allow you to get it downloaded from the net. There are only games for kids in the App Store. Can anyone help. Is the South African apple ipad only for children
Nobody here is responsible for what is or is not available in any country. I believe it is a software licensing thing.
