HT1766 iPad touch screen stopped working.  Can't scroll or select any apps. Can't reboot.  Connect to PC via iTunes doesn't recognize the iPad.

The iPad touch screen suddenly stopped working.  It's been fine, but stopped all of a sudden.  Couldn't reboot since pressing the hibernate button also asked for a "swipe" but couldn't swipe since the screen isn;t sensing any touching.  can't scroll main screen appas.  Can't connect to iTunes, says not connected.  Next stop Apple store unless someone has an idea.

Have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My iPod touch screen stopped working, how do i fix it?

My iPod(4th generation) touch screen stopped working. Okay so it was fine earlier, my home button does not work so i have been using the assistive button for months, and until earlier today it got stuck, i tried to power it off but it doesn't let me slide to power it off, and it doesn't let me press anything on the assistive menu either, and i'm currently waiting for my ipod to die but it's taking forever since it's battery lasts forever! is there any other solutions you can give me?
and i was wondering if my ipod has life insurance with apple so if something is wrong with the screen, can i take it for a new one? (my ipod is in very good conditions, not cracked or scratched, just the home button is an issue)
    thanks!

Try restoring via iTunes. If necessary. try placing the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs and then restore:
    For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot
    and
    RecBoot tip
RecBoot may have problems on 64X windows, then try:
Tenorshare ReiBoot – Enter & Exit iPhone, iPad, iPod Recovery Mode with a Single ClickFor MAC or PC
    The Firmware Umbrella - TinyUmbrella
    Installs blootware on PC too

  • Why did my brand new Ipod 5g 32gb touch screen stop working?

So I got this ipod from the Genius Shop for about a month. A few days ago when IOS 7.1 came out, I updated it. However, the ipod seems to lag a little. Today, I was charging my ipod and for some reason, when I turn it on, the touch screen stop working (the ipod is in perfect condition). The home button, volume button and the on/off button all works fine except for the touch screen. I want to restore everything on my computer, but I can't get pass the lock screen (the touch screen seems to stop working). I just can't do anything on this ipod anymore beside turning it on and off. I can't even power it off because the touch screen is no longer touchable. So how can I restore everything, or do something about this ipod to work again. Can I still take this back to the Genius Shop and get another one without additonal charge?

If the reset does not work try the remaining items of:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Why did my touch screen stop working?

Very upset my touch screen stopped working on phone new years eve.  What could be wrong??

        flakris,
Oh no! This is not what we like to hear. I want to make sure that we are able to get your phone back up and running. Is there any kind of physical or liquid damage to the device? Can you try to press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons until the device powers off then release (approximately 10 seconds). Please keep us posted.

  • Yoga 13 touch screen stopped working after update KB3000850, please help!

Hi, my Yoga 13 touch screen has been working fine until yesterday. The laptop came with Windows 8, and last year I upgraded to Windows 8.1 without issue. Yesterday, I installed optional update KB3000850 from Windows Update, and immediately the touch screen stopped working. I have tried the following methods, all without success:
    * Uninstall KB3000850 from Windows Update
    * Use Windows Restore to restore to the point before yesterday
    * Re-install Intel Chipset Driver from Lenovo official driver page
    * In Device Manager, uncheck all the "allow system to turn off to save power" options for the USB input devices under Human Interface Devices then restart
    * Two-button shutdown and restart
    * Install Lenovo Driver Manager and let it check for new drivers
    * Download Cando multi touch panel driver (Note: I could not install the driver because all I got was a .cab file which does not allow me to install)
As of now my touch screen is still not working. Computer Information page from Settings shows that there is no touch or pen device for my screen.
Can anybody help me with this? Thanks!

Very true, this has been a known problem since the first day Lenovo released the Yoga 13.
I need to send Lenovo a bill for my time spent rebooting.  So far i am on my 8th reboot.  In the past, around 5 reboots after winddows update would work.  This time... who knows.
Of course it always happens when you have a deadline.
Please post back if you have found a better soultion than system restore.
Thanks for posting this issue.  More users need to bring this to Lenovo's attention.

  • Touch screen stopped working on iPhone 5

    Hi guys,
My brother is using iPhone 5 in iOS 8.0.2 v and suddenly his phone start searching for the antenna and the touch screen stopped working (I can't even side to unlock )!! The screen will be on still the phone reset automatically and when is up it will search again for the antenna and every steps repeat all overThe screen Really got confused what had happened to phone. Even I try to reset it by holding Power bottom and Home bottom after resetting nothing has changed. Also the bottoms stopped working while the screen is on (when I'm holding the Power bottom it won't show me to side for power off )
Every time I had a problem I posted my problem here, but i got nothing from anyone, if is it for my bad English I'm sorry but I really need some help here.
    What can I do!?
    Thanks

First, try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. If this does not work, set it up as new device without using the backup, in case it contains corrupt data causing this problem.

  • Ipod nano 6th gen touch screen stopped working please help

Everything on the ipod nano 6th gen is working except the touch screen and once it goes to sleep i have to hold the sleep button and the volume down button to turn it back on. I went into the volume -, sleep, volume + menu and went through the tests and in the touch panel error check section it says i have IC error reported: 0xFFFFFFFF. Please help as i have reset and restored and update itunes etc. Do i need to send it in to apple? The touch screen was working at one stage and then i disconected from the computer while it said eject first (this is when the touch screen stopped working) and put the ipod on a different computer. The first computer was windows 7 which i used just to charge it a little and the second one im using is windows vista.

I have had the same problem and changed three Nano's. Each time the fault is diagnosed by Apple as "water damage".
If you take your Nano to one of their maintenance centres they will look into either the headphone socket or the power dock and and tell you that you have infringed the warranty by somehow getting the thing wet.
Basically is a poorly designed piece of kit whereas a simple shuffle is way more robust.
I have given up with my Nano and am now using an old model

  • My iPad 2'screen stopped working!!!!!

    HI,
My iPad 2' screen stopped working.it's under manufacturing warranty.Am i eligible for a replacement?
By the way I dont have the bill with me ,will the serial number be enough?
    Oxana

I just ran into the same thing. Screen just stopped accepting any kind of tap or slide input upon taking it out of the case.  I even tried staring at it really hard.
This happens to be on an iPad 2 that was already replaced once -- because it just stopped working at all.
Note: I BABY my iPad.  It has NOT come into contact with water.  It has NOT been dropped.  It has NOT been through extreme temperature changes.
So.   While I did the reset thing even before coming to this post, and that worked fine, it doesn't instill me with confidence.   And it doesn't answer the question:  "WHY?"   Windows PC users are used to doing the three-finger-salute. I was used to removing the battery from my BlackBerry once a day.  I'm not in the habit of any such thing with an Apple product -- particularly a brand new one.
    What gives, Apple?

Power cycle - Remove the battery and all peripherals -> press and hold the power button for 5 seconds OR, if the battery is not removable, remove all peripherals-> look for a battery off button on the bottom of the laptop -> push the button for 5 seconds
Reinstall driver - Go to Device manager -> Human Interface Devices -> right click and select Uninstall (DO NOT DELETE). Restart the computer. The driver will be reinstalled.
Reset BIOS - While the unit is restarting, tap the F2 key repeatedly. Once in BIOS go to Exit tab -> Get Default Values -> Save the changes and Exit.

  • Touch Screen stops working while charging

    Hi All,
I have just purcahsed a Torch 9810 and have uploaded it with latest OS 7.1. I am facing problems like :
    1. The touch screen stops working while the phone is getting charged.
    2. The screen gets hanged very frequently. Should we use it very calmly or is it hanging because we use it too fast. For this condition, solution i am left with is a HARD RESET. But till when this will help. Please suggest some work around.
    3. When i select Loud profile, for sometime it works and after that it stops working. I try to ring it manually by going to LOUD profile sound settings and pressing the TRY IT option. I do use a cover. Does it makes any difference ? The problem goes when i do a HARD RESET. But why is this happening ? Any Other setting neds to be done ?
Please HELP or Suggest what to do !!!!!
    Regards,
    Ronak Gupta

This is probaly a software problem in my opinion this could probably be resolved at the genius bar in any apple store also your phone should be under warranty as it is a iphone 5 and they did not come out not so long ago so in other words go to a apple store and they might have to replace the phone. In my experience this has nothing to do with the cable but a software issue in ios did this issue happen in any earlier version of ios

This may help: iOS: Understanding multitasking.
If you turn OFF multi-taskng, your toddler won't be able to "swipe" between Apps.
I don't know of any way to disable the "Home" button though.
