HT1766 iphone 4S is STUCK. The screen shows cable to computer phone end and itunes icon. Won't do anything!
I was downloading an ios7 update to fix bugs and it got STUCK. Now phone won't do anything. Cable to computer phone end shows and then itunes icon. Black space between.
The iPhone is in recovery mode. Connect it to the computer and iTunes and follow the instructions in this support document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

Yes, I connected the phone to my iMac which is the original computer it is backed up on. From iTunes I had no option except to restore, which I did. Still no luck. Still just see the graphic. :-(

Just updated my apple tv so I can use itunes radio. A screen appears with a picture of an apple tv plugged into an iTunes symbol. What does this mean? My apple tv is totally inoperable until I do what? HELPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!
It means the update failed for some reason and it wants you to plug a micro USB cable into the service port of your Apple TV, then connect it to your computer and open iTunes. From there iTunes will restore your Apple TV to working condition. It's the only way to get it back when something like this happens.
For future reference I find that rebooting (restrating) my Apple TV just before updating assures a quick and error free update. -

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. After updating my iphone 4 to iOS6 the screen will periodically fade out to black and will not come back up. I have to shut the phone off and back on 2 or 3 times to get it to come back on. I have done a restore and that did not help. any ideas? is this happening to anyone else?
did you restore from backup or as a new device? Restore as a new device. Before you add any apps to it, use the phone with just the iOS-installed apps. If it's fine, slowly add a few purchased apps back at a time. Do this until the offending app is found.

Hi everyone! I tried to install the new iOs 7 on my iphone 4, but it wasn't completed (showing error 4005). Now, my iphone is stuck on the itunes' logo with the usb cord, and I can't use my phone. And itunes doesn't detect my iphone when I connect it on my computer, so I can't put it in recovery mode or someting like that... What can I do?? Update: my PC USB hub was connected to a USB 3 port, I connected the 30 pin cable directly to my PC, And the restore worked just fine. Restored phone from iCloud backup and seems to be working fine. -
