HT1766 Iphone went down during update

if my iphone shut down while downloading the update and wont reconnect to itunes what should I do?

Hi mist2lettas,
I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of your issue. If you are having issues with your iPhone not being recognized by iTunes after an update, you may find the troubleshooting steps in one of the following article helpful:

  • My iphone went crazy during update

While updating my phone to the most recent operating system, an apple logo appeared. It goes from black, to white, to gray. It appears that nothing is really happening. Now it is just a black screen???

Photos taken by the phone are part of the backup. Check this article what else is included:
    iTunes: About iOS backups
If you are backing up to your computer, go to iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices and check the listed backups to find out when the last one has been made.
If iCloud does the backup, your phone will back up the data whenever connected to Wi-Fi and in standby mode. Go to Settings/iCloud/Storage and Backup to find pout when the latest backup was made. Then follow this article to restore from the backup:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
Music and other purchases from iTunes can be downloaded again for free:

  • My hp envy want quit saying " do not power down during update" powered down 3 times and still saying

My hp envy want quit saying " Do not power down during update" powered down 3 already still saying the same thing.

so my printer worked for a month and then it asked me if i wanted to install updates. It's been installing updates for three weeks and says not to turn off. I've turned it off several times and unplugged it a few times.  No other buttons work on the screen because i can't get to them.  Obviously it's a software problem but i can't find any updates to fix it.  The guy on the help line said it's a hardware problem and that they'd offer me a $95 discount on a newer model, but it would still cost me over $150 and it would be a refurb. So they have a bunch of these printers that sat in a store that didn't sell and passing off printers not in a new box and then talk to me like i should be so thankful they gave me this wonderful discount for a "new" printer that nobody else wanted when i'm still stuck with a printer i paid full price for and should've been able to get replaced. Now i've really paid over $270 for a printer i'm not even sure i want that might have another bug they can't fix.  It's just wrong.  Anybody know a fix for this so i can cancel the order for a new printer i'm not sure i want?
    thanks,

  • My 2002 iMac G4 went down during a power out. won't restart. tried PMU button. still won't start. fan tries for 2 sec, but nothing

my 2002 iMac G4 went down during a power out. won't restart. tried PMU button. still won't start. fan tries for 2 sec, but nothing

Sometimes, a replacement 1/2AA 3.6v Lithium PRAM battery is needed
to get these back into running form again, because these are one-way
and without a good battery, settings are lost or easily corrupted. And this
can contribute to a failure on startup. But that is a troubleshooting measure.
There could be another issue, although these batteries are only good for a
few years at best. A power outage can revoke any remainder of life out of it.
The take-apart is tedious and detail oriented; to include new thermal paste
and some special tools, good instructions, and some skills also help. An
ifixit.com repair guide may help; as would an original Apple Service guide.
Not sure if other good online guides or youtube video are available.
If the power supply is bad, the test ports near the PMU button are where
to check; with multi-meter. Also power supplies may develop issues with
bad capacitors. They have been said to be repairable.
Here's an older site with a take-apart from some time ago.
    http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/systems/imac_g4/imacg4_takeapart.html
This also would be a good time to consider, if battery is all that's failed, to
upgrade the internal RAM chip, or upgrade the hard disk drive, etc.
    Good luck & happy computing!

Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
There may be third-party software that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause these errors. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance or follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Verify that access to ports 80 and 443 are allowed on your network.
Verify that communication to albert.apple.com or photos.apple.com is not blocked by a firewall, or other Internet security setting.
Discard the .ipsw file, open iTunes and attempt to download the update again. See the steps under Advanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations.
Restore your device while connected to a different network.

  • Re: Restoring windows after sudden shut down during updating

    Hi everyone,
Last night I was updating my windows on my Toshiba laptop, however, my laptop had a sudden shut down during the updating process.
Now when I start my laptop, I am prompted that a system error occurred and I have to insert my windows CD to continue. I never got a windows CD, and nor have I made a recovery disc yet, so is there any possible way for me to log into windows again? I am using windows Vista.
    Any suggestion would be grateful.
    Thanks in advance

    hi dDk,
what is the first rules of using a computer?
*never touch a running system* and of course: *read the f... manual* and *make backups often*
ok this was a bit hard... but this is a common failure to make an update without saving....
now lets see what we can do....
    - i assume that there is no possibility to start in safe mode...
    - hdd recovery is not possible...
    - you have neither a systemdisk of vista nor a system backup
now you are in operators hell....
    - see a servicepartner and ask for assistance, for a small fee he is able to setup your original system
    - get a vista/win7 istallation cd and install it, be aware you loose your hdd backup funktion!
    - try to repair with a "system-on-a-disc" like winpe or bartpe
    - try to make the hidden recovery partition visible to a os booted from cd and run recovery agent from there
if you killed your recovery partition.... bad luck

  • Iphone 4S stuck during update 7.1.2

    Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my iPhone 4S, I was updating it on the device itself from iOS 7.1.1 to 7.1.2 At first everything loaded the way it should, but now it's been stuck at the same place for over 2 hours. I don't have a copy. Updating shouldn't last for that long and it should definately not be stuck for that long.
On the screen is the apple logo with the loading bar. I am worried that my iphone might have crashed. I plugged the phone into my computer and it said that there has been a crash and that windows does not recognise the USB device
Does anyone have advice on what I shoud do?
    Thank you in advance.
    Sem G.

it now shows the empty battery screen. It has been in the charger the entire time. my charger does not work optimal but I know it was charging

  • HT4623 iphone went dead after update

    iphone went black after update

Connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable and Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to respond. Usually takes about 20 seconds of holding both buttons. If still problems, try DFU Mode Restore. Open iTunes on computer. Connect iPhone to computer with USB cable. Hold both Home and Power button, after exactly 10 seconds release the Power Button, keep holding the Home button until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, usually about 20 seconds time.

  • IPhone wont turn on after shut down during update

i was updating my iphone 4 to the new update the ios 6. i didn't think the update would take as long as it would i had been waiting an hour and it still was not finished. I needed to call people so i figured i would turn it off and contiune with it later. However, instead of turning back on it just shows the apple logo for a few seconds and then goes black. It keeps doing this until i press the home and power button together to get it shut off. I have tried plugging it in a putting it back to factory settings, holding the power button and home key together, charging it and nothing is happening. It doesn't even get reconigze when i plug it into the comupter. If you have any suggestions or something similar has happened please help me. I would go to verizon wireless or something but i am a college studnet where nothing is around for miles and i don't have a car so.... please help i need this to get in touch with people.

  • IPhone locks up during update/sync

I have synched my prior iPhone for several months so everything was set up fine, but it no longer will allow downloads. Last week, I tried to download the update for iPhone, and it locked up. When I disconnected, the iPhone was ruined, would only accept a download, but then would not complete the download. I got a new iPhone. Now, I have reloaded from a backup, I have the latest version of iTunes, and when I tried to download the latest iPhone update FIVE hours ago, it looked like it was working, but iTunes and the phone are stuck in "Updating iPhone Software." I will have to disconnect again; I cannot stay connected indefinitely. The telephone support is not available (I don't know what their limited hours are), but when I called last Sunday with the same problem, they could only help me redownload iTunes - and that didn't fix my phone. Help!!

I just bought the iPhone and when I brought it home, my phone and computer both locked up during teh software update. I spent an hour on the phone with a very nice lady, but she couldn't help me. She transferred me to a product specialist, and through conversation, we realized that I was the problem. I had my phone plugged into a powered USB hub, and it just would not work that way. I figured that since the hub was 2.0 and was getting power from my outlet, it would be fine. Guess not... As soon as I plugged it directly into my computer USB port and reset everything, it worked fine. I think you said you were using a laptop to sync, so maybe your USB port is just not cutting it. Good luck w/ the fix.

  • Help!!! iPhone was interrupted during update 2.0.1

I was in the process of updating my iPhone when I had a power failure and everything went black including iPhone.
Now When I do the key press procedure to enter DFU mode I hear the noise and I get the following Error:
*iTunes could not contact the iPod software update server*
*because you are not connected to the Internet*
Make sure your Internet connection is active and try again
If anyone knows what I should do, please let me know.
    iPhone model A1203

I have the same problem as is described above.
I made an appointment with the apple store. The tech performed a full restore of the firmware and all other software. After a sync to reinstall all my music, contacts and apps, I still have the same issues as before.
Should I save a copy of my itunes folder and uninstall itunes and reinstall it? It seems like a select few Original iphones do not take the 2.0 itunes update very well. My girlfriend's original iphone does not have this problem with v2.0 or 2.2

Unfortunately with a S40 device such as 3109 Classic there is nothing you can do other than take to Nokia Care point for software to be re-installed.
