How do I restore my iPhone 5s if it wont appear on a computer?
Hey pseudosamurai,
Thanks for the question. Let’s try starting your iPhone into recovery mode:

If the device is still not recognized in iTunes while in recovery mode, see Step 5 sub-step "If the device is not recognized while in Recovery Mode" in this article:

My phone is frozen on the apple logo screen that shows when restarting. I tried to restart it again, but it still freezes and stays on that screen . I really dont want to reformat! Does anyone have any idea how to fix it? THANKS!
You have to put it in dfu mode, when its plugged into itunes reset it by holding the home and the power button, when it starts back up let go of the power button and just hold the home button it should find your phone and say its in restore mode. from there you just have to restore it

I was in the middle of updating to 7.0.3 and Itunes stopped working. Now my phone is stuck in limbo (apple logo with status bar under) My power button doesnt work (of course) How do I get it back to normal?
I have same issue. I click on the home button and Wake/sleep at the same time for 30 seconds or more and then the phone entered in Recovery mode. It is erasing my content now and installing the update. Let´s see how this ends. I have iCloud, iTunes match, and backups from previos versions, hope I can restore all my content.
Otherwise I´ll go to the Genius Bar to do a checkup.
Good luck!
It did not work the first time... The iPhone4 kept in limbo. Then I did disconnect as suggested above and tried again to enter in Recovery mode. This second time it works. And after restoring the iPhone4 with 7.0.3, it asked me if I want to recover from backup. I did recover from my latest back up and now it is syncing the content. -
Can you get a power point program for the mac, my daughter has a power point assignment and i am not sure how to do it on the mac
You can use a free alternative like openoffice for this:

or libre office which is a fork of open office:

Iphone is a black screen and the apple logo won't show on screen
My iPhone has a black screen and the apple logo does not appear. it keeps saying voice overb run or mute on mute off.
Hey there Maggie,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The article linked below provides troubleshooting tips that can help you resolve the blank black screen issue with your iPhone 6 Plus.
Get help with the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
If you see a solid color screen (black, white or blue)
Plug in your device to a power source. If you see the low-battery screen when you plug in, let your device charge for at least 10 minutes (20 minutes for iPad) before using it.
Reset your device while it's plugged in.
If resetting doesn’t fix the issue, restore your device.
If you still see the issue after you restore, contact Apple Support.
Cheers,

Hello there, can someone help me please. I erased all data and settings last night and now my IPAD just shows a line across it with the apple logo. It is not responding to the on / off switch. I have connected the IPAD to my laptop so i can reinitilise it but nothing is happening - it doesn't appear as a device on my laptop (the USB port is working OK) Has anyone else experienced this and how did you overcome it? Thanks
thanks for the reply gdgmacguy! but is there any way to stop it? i was thinking of just manually uninstalling apps and deleting contacts. i cant wait any longer, lol.

Jack OttoHey Jack,
It sounds like you may have encountered a software loop on your iPhone. This usually happens when the iPhone is disturbed during an update or it can happen during an update period. It is lots of reasons as to why this can happen. My solution to you Jack is to call 1-800-MY-APPLE and speak with an AppleCare advisor. My best guess is that your iPhone will need to be serviced.
I hope this helps. -
Trying to update to iOS 8 and the phone keeps showing the Apple logo, then dimming after a number of minutes then showing it again.
Hello cgb1508,

My ipod shows the apple logo but wont fully turn on!!
I restored all the factory setting and then my ipod turned of. I then lete it sit for a month and just recently charged it and connected it to the computer. If i hold the power button the Apple logo apears for about 15 seconds and then the screen goes black again. If i plug it into my computer the logo appears and shuts off but it doesnt open up on itunes. How do i get my ipod to turn on?
What happens if you try and connect it to your iTunes in recovery mode and restore it to factory settings? See this article for instructions on getting your iPod into recovery mode. Make sure not to restore from a backup.

PowerPC Mac Mini gets stuck at grey apple logo screen, wont start
I have a bit of a problem and would appreciate some help, im not especially good at this stuff.
My Powerpc Mac Mini froze up recently, having left it on for a few days without shutting down/resetting. I impatiently turned it off with the power button at the back. When I turned it on again, it only got as far as the grey apple logo screen, it now refuses to go past this screen despite numerous power resets, and unplugging at the power.
I have reset the PMU and the PRAM as suggested by the troubleshooting, to no avail - the PRAM did work as it changed the resolution of the apple logo, but still got stuck at the grey startup screen. Its out of warranty so I have to pay for technical support. Can anyone help?
Message was edited by: misternugeIf you have the original install disk that came with your mini, the first thing to do is to insert that, and then boot the system holding the C key down. This should force it to boot from the install disk rather than the internal drive. The reason you want to do this is two-fold: firstly that if it boots OK that way, it shows the basic hardware is OK, and secondly, it's possible that the hard drive has developed errors (likely directory damage) and the tool to check for that and attempt to resolve it is on the install disk.
Once you've got the system booted to the install disk, exit the installer and run the Disk Utility application. That should display the internal drive (and the install disk) on the left. Select the internal drive and then click 'Repair Disk'. If no errors are found, the drive is fine and the problem lies elsewhere. If errors are reported and the disk is fixed, then you should be able to reboot normally afterwards. If errors are found and Disk Utility reports 'error on exit' not having fixed them, then run it again just to be sure, but otherwise it means the drive is damaged sufficiently that Disk Utility can't fix it. A third-party application such as Alsoft's DiskWarrior will then be needed if you want to try and fix the drive and recover data, or you can simply elect to do an erase and install, meaning the drive will be reformatted and a new copy of MacOS installed. Do not do this if you have data you need to get off the drive!! -
