What has happened to the 'little lock icon' that tells me site safe?

There used to be a 'little yellow lock' icon at the bottom of the browser page when I did my banking or when I logged in on ebay etc.. This icon let me know it was safe to use the page/site. When I updated to Firefox 6.0.2. for Windows English the yellow lock icon no longer appears. What has happened to it? In Firefox 4 and later you no longer have the Status bar that showed the padlock in previous Firefox versions. 
The padlock only shows that there is a secure connection and doesn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server. 
So you might still be connected to the wrong server if you make a typo in the URL and someone has claimed that mistyped URL. 
The functionality of the padlock has been replaced by the [[Site Identity Button]] on the left end of the location bar.

What are logics for the SAP UI icons of "Back", "Exit" and "Cancel"?

Hi SAP experts,
This question may sound kind of strange - isn't that obvious?
While, it is in fact a very important and difficult issue for UI app implementations when UI flow should be kept persistant. I have been feeling confused when doing UI implementations in Personas, specially when at some screens I need to add my own "BACK" button in order to go back to the previous screen (which can be different screens depending flow conditions.)
Can anyone explain what the basic logic is used for the SAP "Back", "Exit" and "Cancel" buttons (see below)?
Here are my understandings (which may not be accurate or correct):
1. "Back" icon (left): By pressing this icon, all the changes made in the current screen are discarded, and UI moves back to the previous screen. If there are some fields already been filled with values in the previous screen, there can be two UI behaviours depending on the platforms used:
a) Some platform will restore the values so the screen looks EXACTLY like before.
b) Some others will leave all fields empty (While, this can be annoying if you have to re-fill all the fields).
2. "Exit" icon (middle): By pressing this icon, all the changes made in the current screen are discarded, and UI moves back to the "Initial (or Home)" screen which in most time should be the first launching page of the app.
3. "Cancel" icon(right): I am very confused by this key - what is the special functionality of this key compared to those of the "Back" key and "Exit" key?
I have been working in many years on developing UI apps for mobile devices, and there were no such three types of keys for UI navigations. Maybe I missed some special points that is special only on SAP?

By the way, just want to share some finding - in Personas, when replacing the Exit or Cancel buttons by transactions, I found that "/n" and "SMEN" does not give the same result, and it depends on whether it is the Exit button or Cancel button that is to be replaced.

What IS that little clock/pie chart icon?

i have searched and found two responses to this question. in the first, the response had nothing to do with the question and the second i didn't understand. so i am still prickly with curiousity...what IS the icon that appears when checking mail that appears for a fleeting moment to the right of the various mailbox icons? it is not the "offline" (~) icon, it is more a pie chart showing the progress of something or other. but what?

It's pretty much a progress icon, something like the "spinning beach ball" of OS X, showing that mail is busy, and how close to being done it is.
If it sits there a while, you either have a slow connection, a bunch of emails, or your email system is being slow - like my school account @_@.

The lock symbol doesn't go away when you join your network. When you join it it will show a check mark next to it and a wifi symbol will appear on the top left of your screen.

"lock" icon on top of view screen

i have a "lock" icon on top of my view screen; the "hold" button is not "on" but i'm not able to turn "on" my ipod; i noticed the "lock" icon when i plugged ipod into my computer; when not plugged into computer, ipod screen is blank and doing the "reset" process does not work;
I can't find any information in the support/training guide that refers to the "lock" icon; it shows other icons and what they mean, but nowhere do i find a pic of the "lock" icon and its definition.

The lock on an iPod screen is displayed when the hold switch is on, it sounds like yours is stuck in the on position. Try toggling it back and forward to see if that will release it. If the problem continues contact Apple or your retailer:

Why don't I have a Lock Icon available to me on an external drive?

Hi.
I will first off beg your forgiveness, as I am very new to iMac.
I have been using PC for quite some 20 years, but I am having difficulty with Finder and it's peculiarities.
My main problem is that there is no lock icon available to me in the "Get Info" section, when I go to place files on an external drive.
Despite being the administrator of this particular iMac, I only get "you can only read" in the Sharing and Permissions section.
I can find no function to allow me alter this situation.
Can anybody please help me?

STS lock icon and authoritzation related

I have a question in STS. Any help will be really helpful.
In STS tool, there are switches available to use that includes status and lock icons . They are tie to the planner user name. Based on authorization given to the planner, he or she should be in position to lock or unlock himself or herself. However this locking or unlocking should not accidentally or intentionally lock or unlock other user.
Thus it is crucial to provide lock or unlock access to the users who are superior to the list of planners. Planner at the object level should be restricted the access to lock or unlock themselves or others.
Current TUNGUSKA BSP code does not have authorization related code implemented . Please see attached screen shot. System program creates a lock data entry directly into UPS_LOCKS irrespective of any authorization check or user . We want to control locking/unlocking to the particular user via authorization concept.

The Padlock is no longer part of Firefox; it was removed beginning in Firefox 4. The padlock shows that there is a secure connection but does not supply additional information. You could have made a typographical error and still have been connected to a secure connection. The padlock was replaced in Firefox 3 with the Site Identity Button. Familiarize yourself with the Site Identity Button at the left end of the Location Bar:

HTTPS Lock Icon missing on pages which also have a Reader View

I navigated to a page which is protected by https (as verified using Firefox), and which also has a Reader View. On Safari, the Reader View icon (the 4 or so lines) appears on that page, but the Lock icon is not visible at all.

Yes, I noticed this as well. The workaround I have is, go to Windows and search for "On Screen". You will get to the On Screen Keyboard where you can toggle the Scroll Lock.

I can't do that because the device was purchased from United Arab Emirates and I got it as a gift in Syria but the problem is that there is not even a single apple store in Syria so is there another way to fix that, I googled it and was told to jailbreak the device whitch I did and than hacktivated it but the problem is the device doesn't connect to any network and only shows "no service" and the battery draining too fast so is there any other way to fix this issue
