HT1819 [Podcast] mix all the imported mp3 files into one Album

Dear Sir,
I need your help of the app [Podcast].
Let me explain my problem.
I enjoying listening to Audiobooks very much.
Everytime I use the iTunes to import some mp3 stories into my iPhone, then change their properties from MUSIC to AUDIOBOOKS. Because I like the convenience of the very two buttons ( 15 seconds of fast backward jumping, and 15 seconds of forward jumping).
But I cannot easily delete those mp3 files that I've just heard. The only way is to erase the whole album in SETTINGS.  (I have a bad memory, always forgot which one that I have heard)
Then, I found the app [Podcast], it has all the functions that I need:
  one, 15 seconds of fast backward & farward jumping;
  two, very convenient (sleeping) timer function;
three, I can easily delete each mp3 file that I've just heard so I know where CAN I continue.
So, I love the app [Podcast], from then on, through the iTunes, I change the properties of my mp3 stories from MUSIC to PODCASTS. It's very easy to operate.
But, then I found something strange: the app [Podcast] mixes every mp3 files together, into one ALBUM, in spite of the ALBUM informations that I defined in EACH mp3 tags.
The app [Music] can classify each ALBUM of those imported AUDIOBOOKS, why can't [Podcast]?
Could you please show me what to do?
Thank you very much.
Yours,
ZJH

This is EXACTLY my problem....and I am disheartened that there is NO reply with fix for this.  I need to find another app to use.  I like to use the podcast app for audio files so I can listen to them in 1.5x or 2x speed.  Frustrated....

Quick answer:  Select all the tracks on the album, File > get info, and either give them all a single "album artist", or check the "compilation" flag (as in https://discussions.apple.com/message/17670085).
If these are from multiple-CD sets you may also need to enter the appropriate information in the disc number fields.  If they are not a multiple CD set you still need to make sure the disc number fields are set correctly or all empty.

i want to merge mp3 files into one file so i can play a mix in i tunes without pauze

    Audacity is what you need.
Obviously you need to create a new MP3 file of the combined songs and not delete the originals.
If your DJ-ing and/or just have too many songs to do that, then look at the free VirtualDJHome version, gives you a lot of control over your music playback.

  • I can't import mp3 files into iTunes

Just recently, I find that I can't drag/drop (or import) .mp3 files into iTunes (12.1.0.50).
I did confirm that the files aren't locked.
    Any ideas?  Thanks!

No mp3 files from any source, including iTunes itself, or just some particular batch of mp3s files from some unspecified source?  It isn't unusual for some encoders to produce mp3s that are not compliant with iTunes.  You can try using the application MP3 Scan+Repair (http://triq.net/mac/mp3-validator-mac-os-x) to fix them but sometimes you have to re-encode them.  Try playing with Quicktime Player instead and report if it will play the files.
Oh, it also isn't unusual that files do not have labels built in.  They are adding to iTunes but not ending up where you expect them to be.

  • Joining multiple mp3 files into one

    Hi all,
I am very puzzled as to how to merge multiple mp3 files into one, to upload to Mixcloud. Now, I do have the "Join Together" script and it worked like a charm a few times but now it just freezes and there's nothing I can do.
Any ideas? Is there any DJ software, other than Nicecast, that could merge the files?
Any help will be much appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Fronzenfields,
A lot of folks preparing mixes for Mixcloud use Audacity.  It is a free audio editor, and has both Mac and Windows versions.
Besides joining tracks, it will also let you do crossfades, volume adjustments and other typical audo editing functions necesary to create a good quality mix.
Editing in Audacity does not modify the original tracks.  You import the tracks into Audacity, do the edits, and  then export a single MP3.

  • Can I choose to not import mp3 file into iTunes?

On my Macbook I have a Music folder on my hard drive where I save all my music I copy from a CD or download from another source other than the iTunes store. I know that when I import into iTunes essentially another digital copy is made and stored in iTunes and that I have the option to either turn that off or delete the original file in my Music folder. Because I now have two copies of each song, it's filling up my hard drive quickly.
I am not keen on deleting the original files since I don't want to disrupt the integrity of the file in case I ever decided to migrate away from iTunes. If I choose the option in iTunes to not copy the media into iTunes and keep it in my original file, are there any cons to doing that? I'd be open to listening to any other options as well.
Thanks - any help is appreciated.

The file is not altered. It is the same file. It is simply copied into the iTunes folder.
You can use it elsewhere now, same as you can if you later decide to "migrate away from iTunes".

You have files in multiple places. iTunes library files in one place, media files in other places.
It is much, much easier to manage everything if it is in one folder (iTunes).
If you put the files into /Music/iTunes/ iTunes media/Automatically add to iTunes/ folder, it will be moved and not copied. Nothng to delete.
I keep a shortcut to this folder on my desktop..

  • Import multiple MP3 files into one video demo? (Cap 6)

    Hi,
I have recorded a video demo in Captivate 6. I have individual MP3 files that I would like to import into the file and then synchronize with the video. Can this be done? I imported one longer audio file, but it would be helpful to be able to bring in individual ones so I can sync more easily without splitting sometimes.
    Thank you
    Michele

    Hi Michele,
Are you using an Event Video or a Multi-Slide Synchonize one?
If your video spread across various slides, you can insert your audio to 'slides' and can edit and adjust the audio timing as per your requirement and time it to a certain duration equivalent to the corresponding video duration on the same slide.
In case of an Event Video, You can try inserting audio to individual slides and time the audio to be in sync with video based on their durations or else you can go to the Vidoe properties and can add audio and bind it up to play alongside with video.
    Thanks,
    Anjaneai

  • Is there a simple way to merge mp3 files into one mp3 file:

Is there a way to simply merge multiple mp3s into one? I have audacity; however, that program becomes cumbersome when merging multiple files.
My thanks to anyone for help on this one.

I have audacity; however, that program becomes cumbersome when merging multiple files.
How true! I had to do this recently and used Audacity for the task, having nothing else suitable (that I know of, at least). My method was to open each MP3 in its own Audacity window, select and copy all of the second file, close its window, and paste it into the end of the first file, repeating the process for each additional MP3. After all the pieces are in place, export the whole thing as a new MP3. This was cumbersome indeed, and it took concentration to remember which file was which and avoid assembling the pieces in the wrong order. This description will make a lot more sense to someone who has done it than to anyone who hasn't.
All of this is to say that if you get a better answer than my kludgey Audacity method, I'll be as grateful as you are.

  • How do I join multiple mp3 files into one mp3 file?

    Hello,
I have multiple mp3 files that I would like to join into one mp3 file and to use it as an audio book. This explains how to do it, but in iTunes 12, I do not see an option called "Part of a Compilation" option.
Is there a way to do it in iTunes without installing a new app?
    Thank you.

    Eugene,
Those instructions, if I read them correctly, are about how to collect several MP3s into a single audiobook.  They will not create a single continuous MP3.
iTunes does not have the ability to combine multiple MP3s into a single MP3.  The best it can do is if you burn them to audio CD and then rip back with "Join Tracks" enabled.  The better way is to use an audio editor such as Audacity, or a special purpose combing tool such as MP3 Joiner.

  • How do I put all my seperate video files into one DVD?

    Hey friends,
Toby here again, thanks so much for giving me hint to the scroll bar, I've finished putting the audio into the video as well as the effects.
Which means my movie's almost complete!
However, while I await the music from my composers to be completed to put in the film for story-telling depth, I need help again.
I have edited my movie into four seperate windows with this program, and I'm currently trying to figure out how I can put all of it together or all of it into one DVD because I need to watch and make sure the footage's video matches with the audio so it doesn't seem like a Godzilla dubbing or something.
Give me as much suggestions as you could possibly give me, and thank you kindly for your time!
    -Toby

Since you said DVD, I assume you're working in standard rather than hi-def video.
As I show you in my books:
    1) Share/Computer/AVI with the DV preset to output each of your segments as a DV-AVI.
    2) Open a new project using the standard DV project settings.
    3) Import all of the segments and combine them on the timeline.
Just as a note, a DVD can hold about 70 minutes of video at full quality. If you're video is longer than that, it's probably a good idea to spread it out over two or more discs.

Sounds like boot sector corruption to me! I suggest you download Testdisk a product of CG Security. Use the latest version that is NOT beta. Boot the computer to a bootable CD such as Hiren's Boot CD. Run the DOS version. Do NOT write anything to the hard disk, such as a log! Do a deep search for lost partitions. When given the opportunity, look at files and folders. Finally, do a rebuild of the boot sector, and compare that to the current boot sector and backup sector. The write a verified version of the boot sector back to the hard disk. Note: Testdisk 6.11.3, under DOS, will show DELETED FILES IN RED. You can then OFFLOAD them to another drive or USB stick. Good luck.

  • Can't import MP3 Files into iTunes 10.6.1

I'm a long time user of iTunes and haven't had any problems until the last couple of days.  I use a Macbook Pro with my iTunes Library on an external drive - I was trying to demonstrate using the iTunes store to a friend and created a temporary iTunes libary on my local disk (away from my office).  I then switched back to my iTunes library on the external drive but some music had disappeared.  It is in the correct folder in the library.  So as a lst ditch effort I created a new library on another disk (I was running out of space anyway).  Now I can't import anything with an extension of mp3.
    Any help would be appreciated

MOV is a container format which may contain all kinds of codec, while iTunes only import MOV whose video codec is DV, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, or AIC.
Even if the MOV meet the above requirement and supported and playable in iTunes, it will still fail to sync to iPod/iPad/iPhone/Apple TV if the MOV video does not fit the specification like resolution, bit rate, aspect ratio, size, and audio codec of the iPod/iPad/iPhone/Apple TV.
In order to successfully import MOV to iTunes as well as sync MOV to Apple TV, iPod, iPhone, iPad, we have better convert the MOV video to a more compatible video format.

    1) find an MP3 file on your file system (in Windows Explorer)
    2) Right click on it to get contextual menu
    3) Select Properties
    4) on the General Tab the text "opens with" appears - in your case it'll be windows Media Player
    5) Click Change
    6) Select ITunes
    7) Select Always for this type checkbox
    8) Now try double clicking on an MP3 file
    9) Does it start playing in ITunes?
    10) Check Itunes settings: Edit>Preferences>Advanced
    11) Are the checkboxes Keep Itunes folder organized and Copy to Itunes foler when adding selected? If not - read the manual to understand what those two settings do
