HT1838 I have pressed forget this device on my iPhone 4,how do I retrieve the same device on Bluetooth ?

I have pressed the forget this device on Bluetooth. How do I retrieve this device on my iPhone 4?

Be sure Bluetooth is turned on in your iPhone. Then put the device you want to pair in pairing mode. The iPhone should discover the device again.

  • Please help, how can i reset my "forget this device" in bluetooth, without my restrictions passcode?

Hi, i got some new bluetooth headphones which are really good but one time i accidentally pressed "forget this device", and now my ipod cant find the headphones. I did some reading online and i tried to "reset all settings" but i needed my restrictions passcode, which i have forgotten ( well actually i dont remember making one, because i know i would forget it ). Can anyone help me because at the moment i cant use my new headphones ?

    Forgotten RESTRICTIONS Passcode
    - Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and restore via iTunes. For how to restore: iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    You have to either:
    - Restore from a backup that was make before you added the Restrictions passcode. If you restore from a backup made with the Restrictions passcode the Restrictions passcode is also restored.
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod

I Cannot connect my Logitech keyboard to my IPad.  It has been working fine.  It may be that I highlighted 'forget this device' when using the IPad without the keyboard.  The Bluetooth cannot 'discover' the device.  All batteries fully charged.  Bluetooth lights up etc.  any ideas?

  • I currently have a one year old MacBook Pro, and right when I boot up the system, the kernel_task is using about 1GB of the 4GB of RAM that I have. Is this normal? Or if not, how can I reduce the kernel_task?

I have noticed that my computer is running super slow, even when I only have one application (like Chrome) running for a short amount of time.

First, back up all data immediately, as your boot drive might be failing.
    Step 1
This diagnostic procedure will query the system log for messages that may indicate a hardware fault. It changes nothing, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator. I've tested them only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    syslog -k Sender kernel -k Message CReq 'Channel t|GPU D|I/O|nspace-h|n Cause: -' | tail | open -ef
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V).
The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear.
A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. Normally the command will produce no output, and the window will be empty. If the TextEdit window (not the Terminal window) has anything in it, stop here and post it — the text, please, not a screenshot. The title of the TextEdit window doesn't matter, and you don't need to post that.
    Step 2
There are a few other possible causes of generalized slow performance that you can rule out easily.
    Reset the System Management Controller.
If you have many image or video files on the Desktop with preview icons, move them to another folder.
If applicable, uncheck all boxes in the iCloud preference pane.
Disconnect all non-essential wired peripherals and remove aftermarket expansion cards, if any.
Check your keychains in Keychain Access for excessively duplicated items.
Boot into Recovery mode, launch Disk Utility, and run Repair Disk.
If you're booting from an aftermarket SSD, see whether there's a firmware update for it.
If you have a MacBook Pro with dual graphics, disable automatic graphics switching in the Energy Saverpreference pane for better performance at the cost of shorter battery life.
    Step 3
When you notice the problem, launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the icon grid.
Select the CPU tab of the Activity Monitor window.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected.
Click the heading of the % CPU column in the process table to sort the entries by CPU usage. You may have to click it twice to get the highest value at the top. What is it, and what is the process? Also post the values for % User, % System, and % Idle at the bottom of the window.
Select the System Memory tab. What values are shown in the bottom part of the window for Page outs and Swap used?
Next, select the Disk Activity tab. Post the approximate values shown for Reads in/sec and Writes out/sec (not Reads in and Writes out.)
    Step 4
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out this step.
Launch the Console application in the same way you launched Activity Monitor. Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Select the 50 or so most recent entries in the log. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). You're looking for entries at the end of the log, not at the beginning.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some personal information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. That should be easy to do if your extract is not too long.

    Help plz

ALL purchases are permanently associated with whatever Apple ID was used to originally obtain them.  Apps can not be updated without knowledge of that ID and, more importantly, its password.  Apple IDs can not be merged and purchases can not be transferred from one ID to another.

  • IPad 2 & 3GS bluetooth prob in ios 5 after "forget this device"

I hv upgraded my iPad 2 & 3GS to iOS 5 & all went well until I tap "forget this device" in Bluetooth and tried pairing again but they don't detect each others. I hv already reset all network settings & all settings for 2-3 times but of no use. They just don't detect each other... Anyone facing the same here? How to get rid of it? Any solution???

I'm having the same problem too. Just upgraded to the ios5 and i can't seem to pair my jawbone prime with it. The iphone 3Gs "refuses" to detect the jawbone device. Hopefully something's gonna be fixed soon as I have just purchased the blue tooth!

  • How do I undo Forget this Device

I was trying to re-pair my Jawbone bluetooth headset and thought I had to "dismiss" the old pairing by hitting the Forget This Device button. Now I can't get the iPhone to recognize my Jawbone at all. How do I undo the Forget setting? I have already reset all settings and I have already reset network settings..none of these worked. Can anyone help please?

    Do this:
Delete the Jawbone's profile from your phone, turn the Bluetooth application in your phone OFF and then perform a reset on the iPhone by holding both the home and sleep buttons at the same time until the screen shows the apple logo, then release. Next, reset the Jawbone. To reset your Jawbone, first power the Jawbone on and make sure it is disconnected from the phone; the LED light will flash red every few seconds when the Jawbone is powered on and disconnected. Next, press the headset's buttons in the following order: NoiseAssassin, Talk, Talk, NoiseAssassin, Talk, Talk. For help locating each button, follow this link: http://aliph.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/aliph.cfg/php/enduser/stdadp.php?p_faqid=124&pcreated=1213119345.
If the reset is performed successfully, the Jawbone will enter pairing mode (the LED light will begin flashing back and forth between red and white). At this point, turn your phone's Bluetooth ON and ask for it to search for a device. Once the Jawbone is found approve the pairing and connection and when prompted for a passkey enter four zeros (0000). The Jawbone should flash white every few seconds once it is on and connected. (Here's a link that will also help with the pairing process: http://aliph.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/aliph.cfg/php/enduser/stdadp.php?p_faqid=154&pcreated=1242753069)

  • Geting blackberry back up after hitting 'forget this device'

I was trying to use my blackberry software with my new blackberry that was sent to me without the usb lead to attach to the computer, so I tried using Blu-tooth.  It didn't work, but in the course of trying, I hit 'forget this device', trying to get the software to stop looking for the old device, which I don't have.  Anyway, I realised my Kindle lead would work so I attached it to the computer, which still holds all my old backups but the software won't open them & only recognizes the new handset.  How can I by-pass this or patch through this so that I can get my contacts and memos etc from my last back up of my last device?
    Thank you!

I am not sure is your previous device was the same type or really a different BB but, if I'm not mistaken, when you call the "restore backup" command in the desktop manager software, you should find somewhere the possibility to explore or open a backup file located elsewhere than the default one.
Maybe you could give this a try and point to your previous backup files?
    Hope this helps.

  • Reconnecting JBL flip to I phone after instructing the 4S 'forget this device'

I have an I phone 4S which was paired and working well with JBL flip... The JBL flip however was not recognised by my kindle fire, I thought of disconnecting my I phone with JBL flip by "forget this device" and tried to connect the other device (kindle fire) un successfully. But now I am not even not able to reconnect the JBL flip back to my I phone!! As I had given instructed the JBL flip to forget this device, it does it appear in the device selection list. Please suggest how to solve this ?

  • HT1688 How to undo forget this device

How do I reset the forget this device on an iphone 4S?

    You do not.
If you have forgotten a device and want to add it back, simply do so.
Put the device in pairing mode, then go to Settings > Bluetooth and the iPhone will find it.

  • How to undo forget this device

I purchased a JBL Flip speaker and connected to my Apple iPad and it worked fine. By accident I pushed "Forget this device" and lost the device on my Bluetooth page. I have tried everything to try and get it back but it will not connect. Any ideas??

Try resetting the iPad. Hold down the Home and p[ower/sleep buttons until the Apple logo shows up.
You might also want to reset network settings to clear all data from the BT pairings. Sometimes that helps.
    Settings->General-:>Reset->Reset Network Settings.

  • I am trying to restore an older iPod Touch, but do not have the passcode.  I am getting an error message saying that I need to free up some space, but I cannot because I don't have the passcode and have never synced this device to my account.  Help..

I am trying to restore an older iPod Touch, but do not have the passcode.  I am getting an error message saying that I need to free up some space, but I cannot because I don't have the passcode and have never synced this device to my account.  Help..

If it is asking for the screen-lock passcode then:
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
    Otherwise follow varjak paw recommendation
