HT1841 My Bluetooth won't connect to my fitbit

I have an iPhone 4 and my software is up to date but my Bluetooth still can't locate my fitbit. Is there a separate update for Bluetooth?

Hey there T.Daly,
It sounds like you are unable to pair or even locate your Fitbit with your phone bluetooth connection. I recommend these steps from the article named:
iOS: Troubleshooting Bluetooth connections
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4562
Check that you are in range of the Bluetooth accessory with which you are trying to pair your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Most Bluetooth accessories have a range of approximately 30 feet.
On your iOS device, tap Settings > Bluetooth and find your device in the list. If your device says Not Connected, tap the name of your accessory to attempt to connect it.
Tap Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and then on again.
Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory is turned on and fully charged or connected to power.
Make sure that your Bluetooth accessory is in pairing mode.1
Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Bluetooth and locate the Bluetooth accessory you are currently connected to or attempting to connect to. Then tap and Forget this Device. Try to pair your Bluetooth accessory again.
Note: You may need to re-enter your Bluetooth accessory PIN if your accessory requires one. Some common PINs are 0000, 1111, and 1234.
Restart your Bluetooth accessory by turning it off and then on again1.
Update your device to the latest version of software. See how to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
If your Bluetooth accessory has upgradable firmware, check to see that you have the latest version1, 2.
Bluetooth disconnects, intermittent connectivity, or unable to find
Move your iOS device closer to the Bluetooth accessory.
Position your iOS device and Bluetooth accessory in direct line of sight of each other. For example, move the Bluetooth accessory and iOS device to the same side of your body.
Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if performance improves.
Check for sources of potential interference and move both the iOS device and the Bluetooth accessory away from other electronic devices.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will reset all network settings including: previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords, recently used Bluetooth accessories, VPN, and APN settings.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
All the very best,
Sterling

  • IPhone 4 Bluetooth won't connect to MacBook Air 11"

As the title says, I have tried pairing my MacBook Air 11" to my iPhone 4. The MacBook sees the iPhone right away, produces a passcode, but that's where it ends.
The iPhone's Bluetooth is ON, as it connects to my car every day.
After doing searches here for a definitive answer to this problem, I can't seem to find one.
Any suggestions why my iPhone 4 can't connect via Bluetooth to my MBA?
    Thanks.

Good reason or not, it's not a supported feature of iOS.
Why are we digging up a one plus year old thread?  Obviously you've figured out search... so you should be able to read the results that display to see the available and supported bluetooth profiles for iOS.

  • Bluetooth won't connect since 3.1.3

Hi. I upgraded to 3.1.3 and now I notice my iPhone 3GS won't sync with my Parrot. When I go to Bluetooth settings the handsfree shows up and then changes to the Parrot model number I have, but it won't connect. Any ideas? Is there a way to revert back to 3.1.2 (not that I want to).
    Thanks in advance!
    Tom

Delete all existing paired phones on the Parrot and then pair your iPhone FIRST.
Hold down red and green buttons together until she tells you that the memory is being cleared. Then she will prompt you to pair your phone
    or
Go to Settings, Advanced Settings, Paired Devices. Find a device you want to delete like "Blackberry XYZ." Click on it and scroll down to <delete>.
On Parrot go to...Settings, Advanced settings, pair device (switch iPhone bluetooth to discoverable!)
Enter the pair code it gives you.
Tap the iPhone screen to bring up the keyboard and enter the code.
    * Parrot doesn't support Mac so you can't update the firmware easily.

  • Bluetooth won't connect to JBL Flip

Is there a fix for Bluetooth yet?  My iOS7 upgrade worked for about 15 minutes and then sound jumbled and now won't work.  I removed the device and tried to pair it again with my JBL Flip. The phone sees the JBL but wont pair.  All of us in the house that upgraded are having the same issue  I'm pretty ticked Apple wouldn't fully test something so basic. I see others are having the same problem with many other devices.

    I found the solution.
    Start bluetooth on the iPhone
Start the JBL speaker, the button lights blue and you hear a short warning-sound.
Now push the startbutton on the JBL again and hold it.
    The light turns red.
Look at the iPad and after a short period the name JBL pops up.
Stop pushing the "red" button at the JBL
Select the JBL name at the iPad to connect.
When it is connected or paired, your done.
The next time you want to connect the JBL you do not have to repeat the above, because your iPhone knows you have a JBL.

  • MacBook Pro Bluetooth won't connect with iPhone4s

I am trying to connect my iPhone 4s bluetooth with my Macbook pro, but it won't let me connect . Sometimes it would say "Andrew's Mac Book is not a supported device" or  "Make sure 'Andrew's Mac Book Pro' is turned on and in range" (My macbook is right next to my phone and its on. Why won't it connect?

You can't connect to your Mac to transfer data via Bluetooth. You can connect your Mac using the Hotspot feature to access the Internet via the iPhone.

  • My iPod nano's bluetooth won't connect with my Macbook Pro after pairing, why?

Just purchased a new 7th generation iPod nano, synced it up to my iTunes account using the cable and charged it fully.
All working fine, except for when I tried to then connect it via bluetooth.
My Macbook Pro (which also has all the latest updates) was able to discover my iPod and when prompted to pair I did so and was presented with a code to verify on my iPod nano's screen. I clicked to confirm, and that is where the journey stopped.
when I try to connect it tells me it has failed and asks if it is within range, when it was sat an inch away.
I have tried reseting the iPod, forgetting the connection and pairing again several times, and tried to pair and connect whilst the cable was attached.
I'm assuming it's the iPod that is at fault as my mouse is fine.
I have run out of ideas.

Just sync, I'm not sure what else it is suppose to be able to do as I am yet to achieve a connection.
I am assuming it should be able to sync my library, playlists, etc.

  • Since iOS 5.1.1 and OS X 10.8.1 bluetooth won't connect my iPhone 4 and my iMac

Recently updated my iMac to 10.8.1. My iPad 2 and iPhone 4 have both been updated to iOS 5.1.1. Today I tried connecting them both to my iMac via Bluetooth. Had great difficulty connecting the iPad, but eventually connected after numerous tries. The phone, however, refuses to connect. I've done some Web searches including the forums here, but haven't found any solutions. Does anyone know what's causing this and how to fix it?

  • Bluetooth won't connect my Apple wireless Keyboard, Mouse, or Trackpad

    Just as the title says...
    I have a 13" MBP Mid 2009.
On OSX I can connect my Apple Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard (3 battery slim model,) Mighty Mouse, or Magic Trackpad.
Windows 7 detects these devices in the "add device" screen but never gets any further then that when trying to connect with them.
I have installed the bootcamp drivers, and also did the update for them as well.
These devices connect fine in OS X, so why not in windows?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Scott

    SOLUTION:
Put the devices in "Manual paring mode"
    1. Turn device off.
    2. Push and hold in power button until the LED starts flashing on and off.
    3. Try the paring procedure.
    4. It should work.
I went to the apple store and this is what they did. They got the trackpad paired no problem, but the keyboard would refuse to make connection. At first they blamed windows and didn't want to replace the keyboard because it worked fine under OSX. However I made them try one of their keyboards and it paired fine. So they ended up swapping out my keyboard for one of the newer ones and now it pairs with both windows and OSX with no problem!

  • Nano bluetooth won't connect to or find devices

    Hi,
I have a new ipod nano that I can't connect to anything.  When searching for BT devices it doesn't ever find anything.  I used my tablet to pair the device so I could at least see the tablet in the BT list, but I'm not able to connect to it. I always get the 'Connection Failed, Make sure XXXXX is turned on and in range".
Doesn't matter what I do, I can't get anything to link to it.
What am I missing, besides the apple claim "it just works".
    Cheers!

Ahh, no.  That is the first thing I looked at, the second was to confirm my device is compatable and according to this link http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/winrt/CompatCenter/Home it is.
So now what?  The nano BT will not connect to the device even though it is paired.  I'm trying to use this with a new Microsoft Surface Pro. Win8

  • 3GS Wifi greyed out, bluetooth won't connect, 4.3.3

Soooooo I have done some trawling around on here and haven't really found something that has provided me a solution to my problem (described above). The story so far....
Now that I think about it I don't think my wifi has been working for a few weeks but my bluetooth was until recently. I can't say for sure if these failures have coincided with an update to 4.3.3 or earlier for the wifi problem but that ceretainly makes sense in terms of timing.
There seems to be a healthy amount of material in the Apple Community that describes these problems however no clear solutions that I can find so far. I have done the usual software check, settings restore and full restore with no change at all.
    Any tips groovers?

If you've done all troubleshooting (i.e. reset, restart, restore, restore as new) and the device is still not operating properly, that would indicate a hardware problem.
A trip to the Genius bar would be the next step to have them confirm the hardware problem.
If the device is still under warranty, it will be replaced.
If the device is not under warranty, you would be eligible for a Out of Warranty replacement which in the US is $199.

  • Need serious help. Time is incorrect and bluetooth won't work

I have iPhone 5c and the time is not right. The bluetooth won't connect or even appear. Problem started about 6 weeks ago when I did the update to ios8. I've read as much as I can about the problem. I've did every reset possible and nothing works.
I'm one month past the year warranty. Conveniently. I'm about 40 mins from the nearest Apple store.
Is there a solution or do I need to prepare for this to be junked and go to a Samsung?

    Hi Ejjones55,
It sounds quite distressful that your iPhone will not keep proper time and the Bluetooth module does not appear to be functioning correctly. I am going to try to get you back on track so you can use your iPhone as it is intended.
Since you have already reset (restarted) your iPhone, the next step would be to back up any data that you have on it and restore as a new device. See this article for how -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Bluetooth won't switch on and appears as a network device.

This is related to an issue I have previously mentioned but just wanted to see if it is actually a separate issue.
My bluetooth won't connect. Its greyed out and when I open the bluetooth preferences then the 'on' box is greyed out also as is the 'discoverable' box.
Is there anything I xcan do to rectify this at all?

    Hello Barry,
    Thanks for your input.
I still live in powerpc land and as far as I know resetting is something which is for intel based machines. I could eb wrong on this.
I have tried resetting the pram but to no effect.
Can you reset the SMC on powerpc's?
Any suggestions would be most welcome.

  • My iPhone 5 won't connect to my macbook pro retina over bluetooth?

My iPhone 5 won't connect to my macbook pro retina over bluetooth?

Ah, sure it actually won't.  I have the same problem, and I contacted Apple Support.  They told me that there is an incompatability between the iphone 5 and MacBook Pro Retina such that Bluetooth pairing is not possible.
The Support Agent actually had the audacity to tell me this was part of the design of the OS on the MacBook Pro, like Windows people saying, "That's not a bug.  It's a feature!!"
Personally, I think this is insane.  While I was trying to tether the iphone to the MacBook Pro retina for an internet connection, there are other reasons related to file transfers for which one would want to pair the iphone 5 with the MacBook Pro retina.
I am hoping this "feature" is fixed in iOS 7, and/or in some dot release of Mac OS 10.8.
By the way, the personal hotspot feature on my Verizon iphone 5 works great either via a wifi or USB connection.  There are occaisions, however, when one would 1) not have a USB cable, and/or 2) have another wifi relationship between the phone and a network that one would not want to have to "forget" in order for it not to connect to that wifi network.  The Macbook will not find the iphone as a wifi hotspot if the iphone is connected to wifi in the first place.  At least mine won't.
