  • HT204074 I have a family Apple ID for iTunes and Apps and then two iPhone 5s each which use a personal Apple ID for email and the family Apple ID for iTunes and Apps. Can I use iTunes Match?

I have a family Apple ID associated with my iMac and iPad for iTunes and Apps and then two new iPhone 5s each which use a personal Apple ID for email and the family Apple ID for iTunes and Apps. Can I use iTunes Match on the iPhones given there are two Apple IDs "loaded" on the iPhone?

  • How can i use the apps i have downloaded on itunes

how can i use the apps i have downloaded on itunes

Apps downloaded through iTunes will only run on iOS devices such as iPhones, iPod Touch, and iPads. Plug your device into your computer, open iTunes, and click on it in the bar either at the top or the left side. Then, click apps at the top, and click install next to the app you want installed.
If you are looking for apps to run on your Mac, you need to download them through the Mac App Store, not through iTunes.

Settings>Store...tap the ID shown...sign out...sign back in with the ID you want to use.
Note: Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID used to originally obtain them. They cannot be updated using any other Apple ID other than the one they were originally obtained with.

  • HT202213 Can I use the apps that itunes is downloading to my PC on my PC?

Can I use the apps that itunes downlading to my PC on my PC.  If not can I delete them off of my PC without messing it up on my ipad?

Yes, you keep them for your iPad. If your hard drive space is at such a premium, then you should get a larger drive or add an external drive to which you can copy off some of your other files. Everything you download, add to, or purchase through iTunes for your iPad will take up more and more space.

  • Can I use all apps in iTunes ?

Hi- Can I use ALL apps in iTunes on an ipod Touch ?
Or are most only designated for the iphone ?
    Thanks, SeaDream

No and no - to both questions. ooMikeoo's reply is not correct, you cannot install all Apps.
Every App in the Store lists the requirements on its page and your Touch will only install the ones it can run. Some Apps need the functions of the iPhone, so they will not work on a Touch. Some other Apps only work on the iPad, so again they will not work on your Touch, but unfortunately the Store currently lists iPad Apps together with iPhone/Touch Apps.
See *Jolly Giant's* screenshot in his (her) reply. (Sorry Jolly G - I don't know!) If it does not state iPod Touch, it will not work on your Touch and (usually) it will not install onto your Touch.
Also notice the OS version number. Your Touch needs to have the minimum version of the OS shown. Your Touch runs iPhone software - and an App may state that it requires either *iPhone OS X.X* or *iOS X.X,* which mean the same thing.
So that gives a detailed answer about your first question.
There are more Apps in the Store than you can think of - (I don't think anyone knows how many) but you can be sure that there are hundreds of Apps that will run on the Touch. I think I have 160 Apps on my Touch - and I'm fussy!

What do you mean "invalid support"? What EXACTLY did it say? Did it say you had an unsupported SIM after updating the firmware on your phone?

    Thanks Jakob. You are correct.
    I just finished another "experiment".
I transcode the whole clip 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 to another ext Western Digital HDD and got the Error -50 too. Problem is this ext Western Digital HDD is Daisy chained to the LaCIe.
So, I tried transcoding to another ext Western Digital HDD connected to my router. And this time NO PROBLEM.
So, I should readjust the FW800 connectors.
What do you mean by the controller of the Firewire ?
    Thanks

All I'm saying is, the error -50 from the Finder normally means there is something spooky going on.
Here, the LaCie drives become unstable. In the few cases where I'v actually opened the cage and put the HDD into another mount, the HDD seems to be fine, so I suspect it's either the FW connectors of the controller itself.
If the drive is under warranty, replace it, otherwise, move your data to another drive if it startes to do so frequently.
Here, the drive will 'behave' normally for some time after a reboot of the OS, but it's a pain to reboot every X hours...

  • Can i use itunes vouchers to purchase apps on vpp

We are a Primary (Elementary) School in England who have recently bought 30 iPads...
Can we use iTunes vouchers to purchase apps and books alongside VPP?
    ...or...
Do you have to use/buy VPP Credit to buy apps and books to distribute to all the iPads?
Any help/advice will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

From the VVP guide.....I highlighted copy in bold type.
Step 4. Enter payment and billing information. Complete your transaction with a Volume Voucher, credit card, PayPal in the United States, or ClickandBuy in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. You’ll receive a confirmation email from Apple telling you that your order has been processed.
Volume Vouchers. Volume Vouchers are physical cards in denominations of $100, $500, $1000, $5000, and $10,000 that can be used to purchase apps and books in the VPP store. Volume Vouchers can be provided to Program Facilitators within your instituion who then redeem the vouchers within their individual VPP accounts. Volume Vouchers can be purchased with a range of payment methods, including purchase orders, and are only availble directly through Apple in the United States. The cards are shipped via Federal Express or UPS within three to five business days after your order is processed.
Purchase history. Your purchase history is stored on the program website under your account information, so you can track the status of each transaction, refer to past purchases, view content you’ve purchased, or download the current spreadsheet of redeemable codes. The purchase history also contains other helpful order information, such as order date, order number, purchase price, and number of apps and books procured.
Here is where I found the info.

  • How do I enter an itunes U course code in iTunes on a PC? My teacher gave me a course code to enroll in their course (unpublished), but I don't have an iPad or iPhone. Can I use iTunes on my PC?

How do I enter an iTunes U course code in iTunes on a PC? My teacher gave me a course code to enroll in their course (unpublished), but I don't have an iPad or iPhone. Can I use iTunes on my PC? I don't see a place to enter my enrollment code. I also tried using the link sent to enroll but it doesn't work either.  Am I out of luck?

As I noted in the other thread:
There are two kinds of content available, "courses" and "collections". If you look at the iTunes U section on the iTunes Store, you'll note some are square (collection) and some have a faux wire binder and tabs (course); you can subscribe and watch collections from within iTunes, but courses only work on iOS.
The content you see in iTunes on your PC are "collections", while your teacher has created a "course". Collections are more like podcasts, with only audio or video episodes available. Courses have more structure and richer content, including assignments and iOS-specific materials like App Store links and Pages documents.
While the distinction is not particularly relevant for iOS users – one can subscribe to either type – it is admittedly confusing for desktop users since the distinction and terminology are not explicitly defined.
    Does that clarify matters somewhat?

  • The voice that was on when I first set up my ipad came back on and now I have to double click to get into my apps and can't use my apps because her voice is always talking.  How do I make her voice go away and my IPAD work like it should.

The voice that was on when I first set up my ipad came back on and now I have to double click to get into my apps and can't use my apps because her voice is talking.  How do I make the voice stop and my IPAD work again.

If you've turned VoiceOver on then see if triple-clicking the home button turns it off, and then change what Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-Click Home is set to.
Otherwise, via 'the touch to select double-tap to activate' process you need to go into Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver and turn it off
The manual (http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipad) also says that you should be able to switch voice-over off by connecting to your computer's iTunes :
Turn VoiceOver on or off in iTunes: Select iPad in the iTunes sidebar. In the Options section of the Summary pane, click Configure Universal Access. Select VoiceOver, then click OK.
So select Configure Universal Access at the bottom of the Summary tab and set Seeing to Neither

  • My employer is issuing an iPad 4 to me, but has informed me that I "...can expect no privacey" of any personal information that may be put on the iPad. This is not acceptable to me. How can I use iTunes to keep my personal information off the iPad?

My employer is issuing an iPad 4 to me, but has informed me that "...I can expect no privacy" with regard to any information on it. What has me concerned is that my employer has also requested that I use my Persoanl iTunes account to syc and update the iPad.  I am concerend with my personal privacey, as I have two other iPads that use this account regualary.
My question is: How can I use iTunes to update etc. the company iPad using iTunes without compromising my personal information?
What I have done is to set up a different sign in (is that called an Apple ID?) within iTunes (I now have two different names I can use to sign in to iTunes). They both still use the same iTunes and my personal apps and information appear to be available to my second sign in name (the second sign in name is what I intend to use for the company iPad). When I sync the company iPad how do/can I keep my persoanl information from being syc'd automatically to the comapany iPad?

    Hi herbie13!
It sounds like you will still want to link your iPad and computer, but you want to prevent the iPad from syncing information from your computer to your iPad. I have an article here for you that can help tell you how to set this up:
    iOS: Syncing with iTunes
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1386
You will want to follow the steps here to set up the iPad for syncing, but when it comes time to sync, you'll just want to make sure that the boxes for syncing the multitude of items that you can sync remain unchecked so that none of that information gets synced into the iPad.
Another note: your second Apple ID will not be able to access the apps, music, movies, tv shows, etc., that you have purchased under your primary Apple ID. Even though it seems that the secondary Apple ID still has access to those items, that is just because you are viewing your second Apple ID through the iTunes Store section on your computer and you have those items saved locally on your computer. You will need to repurchase and download all of the content that you wish to use again on your second Apple ID, if that is what you wish to solely use on this iPad.
Take care, and thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities.
