  • Forget my macbook air startup password

I changed my Macbook Air startup password but somehow forgot the new password. How can I turn on my Macbook Air?

If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise*, start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities window appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar at the top of the screen—not from any of the items in the OS X Utilities window.
In the window that opens, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens. Close the Terminal window to get it out of the way.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but your Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it.
*Note: If you've activated FileVault, this procedure doesn't apply. Follow instead these instructions.

    Hi there sublimaze,
You may want to try resetting your keychain as an initial troubleshooting step. Take a look at the article below for more information.

  • Macbook air login in french

I just bought a macbook air yesterday.
My problem is that when it has been idle or when i turn it on, it will show the log in screen in french. I find that quite annoying and i would like to know how to change this? I'm using 10.9.4.
I checked the language settings and it is not possible to change it there.
When i installed my macbook air i chose Danish as language, so the french login screen makes no sense.

    Hey iMikkel,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the only language problem is with the login screen. This article shows how to change the language displayed in the login window.
OS X: How to change the language displayed in the login window
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4102
    OS X Mountain Lion, Lion, 10.6, 10.5, or 10.4
Login as a user who has an administrator account.
    Open Terminal (located in /Applications/Utilities/).
Type or paste this command in Terminal: sudo languagesetup
    Press Return.
When prompted for a password, enter your account password and press Return again.  If your user has no password (a blank password) and you are using Mac OS X v10.5 or later, see sudo command requires a non-blank admin password.
A list of available languages will be displayed. Type the number that appears next to the language you want to use, then press Return.
    Quit Terminal.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a nice day,

  • How do I reset my adobe password on macbook air?

I want to up date Adobe Flash Player on my Mac Air. I need to reset my Adobe password.  How do I do that?

Are you sure it is the Adobe password you need? I just manually updated Adobe Flash Player on my MacBook Air (after reading your post) and the only password I needed to enter was during the installation process and the password I needed was my Macbook Air login password.

  • Usb 3.0 not working on Windows 7 (MacBook Air late 2011)

    Hello everybody.
I've been running Windows 7 perfectly on my late 2011 11-inch mackbook air (runs even smoother than Mavericks, seems that Apple forgot about macbook air users when releasing that update, and doesn't even let me downgrade without buying the previous OS X ¬¬)
Ranting apart I've been having the following problem: my Toshiba external 3.0 usb HD drive works perfectly on OS X (always did and still does) but i can't make it work on Win 7. When I plug the usb connector, it appears as it recognized an external hdd, but it isn't able to get the drivers or recognize the drive properly. So it just doesn't work, I can't access it. I've been searching for usb 3.0 drivers for boot camp or win 7 and haven't been successful with what i've found.
    Anybody had this problem?
    Anybody got to fix it?
I'm really annoyed that i can't use my external hdd.
    Thanks for reading!

maybe it's because your ext hd is in mac os filesystem which windows cant read?

  • Forgot my login password for macbook air

totally forgot my password to login to my macbook air
    Anyone have help?

Now, the fun part if neither of those is the case.
You can also restart the system holding down the Command and R keys, and then from the utilities that open choose Terminal.
In the Terminal window type exactly:
    resetpassword
    and press return.
In the Reset Password window, choose the user for which you wan to change the password.
Type the new password twice, then do not set a hint, and click Save.
Accept the next dialog that opens, and at the bottom of the Reset Password window Apply.
Then click the apple at the left side of the menu bar and Restart.

  • What if I forgot my password to login into messenger on macbook Air??

I want to be available on messenger for MacBook Air but I have forgot my password. What should I do?

Nothing you can do.  This is the anti-theft protection on the iPhone.  You cannot restore that phone if you don't know the AppleID and password used to set it up.  No way arounds this.

From a room at my hotel that belong to a guest. I request a apple Id and password from the guest in order to track it though iCloud, when I login into the account the MacBook was not their, however I saw other device. A few days has past then the MacBook appear. How does that happened, please explain?

For a stolen Macbook to appear in iCloud - the person who stole it must turn it on.
You can't track something that's turned off.
