HT1904 Can apps be shared within a household? My wife has an iPad with her own sign in ID.
I'm looking to share an app with my wife. Is this possible with 2 separate ID's or must I purchase the app again for her?
Have a look here...

Can I set up my wife's iPhone C with her own iCloud but share my Apple ID account?
I have had my Apple Id for quite sometime now and have lots of music and apps for my Apple devices. I FINALLY convinced my wife to get an Apple phone as well when we just upgraded our services.
Is it possible for me to set her phone up with her own iCloud account (so we don't get each others texts, photos, ect) but still share my Apple ID so she can have access to our apps and music? Also I need to set her up on a PC of her own for backups and syncing.
If this is possible, what is the best way to proceed?
Thanks for any help at all
WolfIf you still have this question, the answer is yes. You can set up a separate iCloud account for her by going to Settings>iCloud on her phone and signing in with a separate Apple ID. You can do this and still share the same ID for your iTunes account (in Settings>iTunes & App Store). The ID you use for iCloud does not need to be the same as the ID you use for other services. Also, to avoid getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls, make sure she signs into these services with her new iCloud ID (in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime).
In iTunes on her PC, authorize her computer for your shared iTunes account by opening iTunes and going to Store>Authorize This Computer and signing in with the ID. Then you should be all set. -
I couldn't see any music on iTunes that I had previously saved. I looked in Previous iTunes library. "Previous iTunes Library" now appears at the top of my iTunes screen, is this the problem? If so how do I fix it so i can access my saved music? Also my wife just before this set up her own iTunes account on this PC.
Cheers
JimFor an updated, I performed an SMC reset and that has solved the problem for the time being. This thread on the World of Warcraft Mac Technical support forum is very helpful, though it seems the issue has not yet been resolved and the SMC reset is a temporary fix at best.

Last year my daughter received an iPod for her birthday. I sat it up using my Apple ID and password that I use with my iPhone. For Christmas she got an iPad mini and it was sat up this time with her own Apple ID and password. Just wondering if there is any way to transfer or sync the apps and music that she has on her iPod to her iPad even though they have different apple IDs and passwords?
Welcome to the Apple community LSeaward.
Unfortunately, you can't transfer content from one ID to another. -
I downloaded a new APP to my iPhone it appears on my screen but can't get it to appear on my wife's iPhone screen. Her screens were initially full of Apps, I later made room for the new APP but can't get it to appear even after making room for the new APp. It can be opened, but I want the APP to be on her iPhone screen as well as on mine. Help, please.
Is the app downloaded on her phone also?

Can apps bought for Macbook Pro also be put on the iPad? I bought the app "pages" for my mac book pro and would like to put it on my ipad as well.
No. The iPad is running iOS and your MacBook runs OSX.
You need to purchase the iPad version of Pages. -

No. iTunes Store credit can't be spent on any sort of gift.

How can I remove my wife's email address and password from my app store account? I am trying to update apps and it won't let me use my info. My wife has an iPad and an account, some way the info got on mymipad.
You can log out out of the currently logged in account on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > Store and you can then log in with your account - but if any of your wife's apps are on your iPad then only her account will be able to download updates to those apps as they will be tied to her account.

If I have an IPad mini and my wife has an IPad, can I connect to her IPad with FaceTime from my IPad Mini? Are multiple Apple ID's required? One for each device/person?

I have created an Apple ID for my daughter with her own gmail address as the primary email address, but I want her Apple ID and primary email address to be an iCloud email address. How can I do this? I can't set up an icould email address for her without first creating an Apple ID right?
I'm not good with computers so please explain in simple way...:)
I also wonder what the best way is to set up accounts for children in a family. I dont want them to be able to purchase apps etc through the parents accounts, also some things we like to share as a family and others we don't want to share. Is there any good. clear, simple explanation from Apple Support about these issues? Or best to go to Apple store and go to genius bar or one to one advise?
thanksYou can set up an iCloud account which makes the iCloud email address you choose the Apple ID and thus the login for it:
https://discussions.apple.com/message/22283348#22283348
though I have to say I think it's more sensible if the ID is another address, both for security reasons (so people don't know what the login is) and as a contact address from Apple if the account were to stop working and they needed to contact you. So personally I would to to System Preferences, enter the GMail address which is an ID, and then choose a nerw @icloud.com address.
If she has her own iCloud account she will need either her own computer or her own user account on your Mac to be able to make use of it. You should note that under Apple's terms of use Apple IDs are only available to children of 13 and over.
As to purchasing apps, this is nothing to do with iCloud: it's iTunes, and the login can be different. So you can all sign into the same iTunes account but have different iCloud accounts. Or she can have her own iTunes account if she is of suitable age (credit card needed for purchasing apps).
If you have other children you should be aware that any one Mac or device can create only three iCloud accounts - this is tied to the serial number, not the user account, and once reached cannot be bypassed. You can of course sign into an iCloud account created on another device. -
I have an Ipad 2. My wife has an Ipad mini. When we plug in to Itunes (at different times) it synchs the apps from one Ipad on to the other. We don't want this. I have uncheked the box for Automatically synch apps, but it still does this.
How do I get Itues to see each Ipad as a separate item, and not try to keep them "equal" as far as apps installed?Remove the apps from iTunes with your device connected. You can basically deselect the apps that you don't want on each device. We have three IOS devices on one AppleID and they don't all have the same apps.

My teenage daughter and i share an apple id on both of our iphones (2 phones both are 5s) . She now has an ipad with a her own apple id. How can we change the apple id on her phone so that is the same as the ipad and not loose any contacts or songs?
Did you take a look at the new feature Apple - iOS 8 - Family Sharing ?
Apple - iCloud - Family Sharing
Up to now, songs bought from iTunes could only be played by the Apple ID that has been used to buy them.
If you set up Family Sharing, your daughter can also play your songs and use the same contact info as before.
If you don't want to do that, sync the contact info to the address book on your computer, and sync the info back, using iTunes:
Sync your iPhone, iPad and iPod with iTunes using USB
If the iPad already has her Apple ID and contact info on it, restore the phone from the latest iPad backup. -

My wife has 3 audiobooks on her Iphone 5. These have been deleted from Itunes. How can these audiobooks be deleted from her Iphone 5. Thanks
Hello BDCrowd,
It sounds like you are wanting to delete these audio books from the iPhone. I recommend going here in your settings:
Tap Settings > General > Usage to view the amount of space each app and its content takes on your device.
From: iPhone, iPad, and iPod: Understanding capacity
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1867
Then tap Music, and swipe left on AudioBooks and choose Delete when it appears to delete them all in one swipe.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Regards,
Sterling
