HT1911 Apple ID password not retained

Can anyone help please.  For the past few weeks everytime I go to log in to my Apple store account, Apple's system does not recognise the stored password.  I have reset the password numerous times, and it still will NOT let me access my account.  I am getting so frustrated with the mongrel thing that I am ready to toss Apple Store and ITunes out the window.
Everytime I reset the password I store the new password in a Password software programme I use, so I KNOW I am using the correct password.  I have just reset the password a few minutes ago and have the new password sitting right in front of me.  Still I cannot access my account.
Anyone with solutions please.  
I am quite happy to close the account - only problem is I cannot access my account to even do that.  Good on ya  Apple!!!

Ok, sounds like you are reseting the password for the wrong Apple ID, or something else is happening.

    If Settings>iCloud is showing your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Tap your ID and sign out. Reboot your iPad.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    Go back to the settings and sign back in again and see of it works now.
    If it doesn't work, post back with some information that might help us help you. Describe what you are doing in some detail and it might let us better understand why this is happening.

  • Apple ID password not recognised

    Cannot download apps or update iPhone 5 as constantly says applied password invalid. Can sign onto Apple with this password on laptop but not on phone. Why is this?  It's driving me insane!!!  Have tried resetting password multiple times but still the phone does not recognise the password. Any ideas?

    I've updated an iPhone 4 to iOS 7.1.2 and cannot successfully use the App Store App to download even a free app.  Because the phone is out of warranty, Apple support will not help.
    I click on the App Store Icon, I search for a free app, hit the "Get" button, it thinks for a few seconds, and then asks me for my AppleID password.
    I supply that (and I know its correct, because if I enter a honky one, that is immediately diagnosed), it thinks for a few seconds, then returns me to the screen with the "Get" button again.  Hitting the button just restarts the password inquiry over again with the same result.  No error indication occurs at all.
    I don't see how it could be a problem with my internet connection(s).  I've tried it with or without wireless router, used Cell data only, taken the phone to a different wireless network, etc...   Could App Store app even ask for my password if there was a problem with my connection?
    I've tried reanswering my AppleID security questions, updating my credit card information, and changing my password.  No help.  It doesn't appear to be an AppleID issue.  I've searched the internet, Apple's support forums, carried out Apple's tedious procedures for checking the connections, read the docs, etc...
    Has anyone seen anything like this?   Any suggestions?

  • FTP Passwords not retained.  Business Catalyst widget not functioning correctly

    I am using OS X 10.10.3, Dreamweaver 2014.1.1 Build 6982.
    I am unable to connect to my remote server through business catalyst.  it tells me that my credentials are incorrect and to check the settings.
    I check my credentials for the ftp server and it is not retaining the password.  I re-type the password and test connection.  No problems.
    I try to connect to remote site again to update pages and the same problem happens.  I go back to site settings and the ftp password is blank again.
    I have followed the steps described in the known issue page and it did nothing to help .
    the add on widget for business catalyst is not able to connect to the site either.
    I would really like to find a fix to this asap as I need to update my site via Dreamweaver.
    Note. I am able to connect to the web portal for my business catalyst site without issues, so it is not a problem with my account.

    Hi Scott,
    First of all, could you try to log in to the Business Catalyst Admin Dashboard of your site and check if you are able to log in from there.
    Could you uninstall BC DW add in on DW CC from Extension manager and also from https://creative.adobe.com/addons
    I would recommend you to uninstall BC add in from both places and then install BC Add in from https://creative.adobe.com/addons  as well as download and install the add in via Extension manager ( https://creative.adobe.com/addons/patches/4965/install  )
    Let me know by trying these steps, if that works or not.

  • Apple ID password not working for iCould (Lion 10.7.4).

    Every 30 minutes or so an alert featuring the iCloud icon requesting my Apple ID password. I enter my password correctly but it does not accept it and all buttons freeze. The only way to get out of the preferences is to force quit preferences which are "not responding". I also not able to access my preferences at at all. This happens every 30 minutes and is driving me crazy. Why did this start happening and how do I fix? Please help! Thank you!

    I think I might be on to something. I just tested a 32 image, portrait orientation stitch, and it worked just great.  (I didn't use lens correction and used auto, so yes there are distortions and the horizon appears off. It was a test so... )
    The images that won't stitch, are 6 in total, and 4 out of the 6 have a person in them. The person is mostly in the same position throughout the shots, but not totally the same.  The only other difference that I can note is that in both cases where the stitching worked, I did no post work in LR before stitching, whereas the ones that didn't work, I did touch them up before exporting to my hard drive. I'd be more inclined to think that PSE has an issue with the former than the latter.

    That would only make sense if password was typed wrong, did you try to check if password is prompted for correct apple id, may be your icloud account is different? No other ideas, sorry.

    Hi, I've just replaced my iphone 4s. I backed up my content but everytime I log into my email account I'm being asked for my Apple ID password but when I type it in it doesn't accept it. I've noticed to that my old Hotmail Account which is closed is showing as my ID. I've reset my password but it still doesn't work.
    I can't see my photos saved to my photo stream and folders are missing from my apple email account.
    Any suggestions welcome

    Well this is simular to the problem i have had in rencent log ins on apple. 1. Is the email correct? 2. Did you type the password correct? (There HAS to be an upper case letter in the pass because apple accounts' passwords REQUIRE at least one uppercase letter) If this was not helpful please try again or add more details next time.

  • Outgoing server password not retained

    I have configured my iPhone for 2 email accounts: gmail and OptOnline. According to my ISP (OptOnline), I must use their outgoing mail server. OK, no problem.
    I configured my outgoing server to be the OptOnline server, along with my username and password and I'm able to send email.
    The problem is that my password is not retained. So 10 minutes later, I cannot send email. When I look at the Advanced Mail settings, the Outgoing Server password field is blank. It should contain asterisks like the other password fields.
    Any ideas?

    You are not meant to see passwords.  Usually the Outgoing password is the same as the Incoming.

    My son has given me his old iphone4.
    I had a Apple ID account but have forgotten the password. On trying to get this reset it appears I have forgotten the answers to my security questions also. My son therefore set up a new Apple ID.
    We are trying to get the phone unlocked and a new sim card put in but on receiving the code from Apple and starting the process we need the old Apple ID to proceed. This is obviously where we come unstuck.

    Recently upgraded my new ipad 3rd gen to iO6 and can no longer access my account.
    Ever time I enter my password, another pop up would ask for it again. Despite the numerous attempts.
    Weird because I can sign and out under settings, but even while signed in, apple would still ask for my password when I try downloading an application, paid or free.
    Worse, apple would also ask me that I néed to sign in first before I can proceed with a purchase but won't accept my password when I try to key it in.
    I'm sure I'm not the only one....
    Someone please help...
    I gave up my choice to get a Samsung galaxy note 10.1 for this, hope I did not make a really bad decision.

    Okay, if you've got your Apple ID and Password set right and you can sign in okay on the Apple ID sign in on the web ... you just may have to scrub your iPad clean and get a fresh start on the iPad. That way, you just enter your Apple ID on a "factory fresh iPad" and there can' be a problem at that point (again ... as long as the Apple ID and Password is okay on its own).
    A factory reset can be done with your iTunes program on your computer. Be sure to turn off the anti-virus software on your computer, while you are doing the process. Since you can't sign in. With your Apple ID, I suppose that means you can't do an iCloud backup, but you'll probably be able to do an iTunes backup. The following will give you some Apple Support documents on the subject. The last one is for the reset to factory default ...

  • Apple ID password not working and can't purchase anything on App Store

    I've been trying to buy different apps and everytime I put in my password and keep going with my credit card info it times out.
    I finally got my iPhone 5 to sync with itunes 10.7 and now my phone won't let me finish restoring bc when I sign using my apple ID and password to finish setting up iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime it comes up with an error "Could Not Sign In The request time out."
    HELP!
