HT1911 change my apple id on my ipad

I have changed my Apple ID on the appleid.apple.com site and then updated the change in iTunes, but how do I change it on my iPad or get my iPad to recognize the change? I have performed a sync with the iPad (plugged in, not wifi). Also, I'm using a first gen iPad with iOS 5.1.1. Your help is appreciated!

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

If you only changed the name of your ID rather than creating a new ID, just go to Settins>iCloud and tap Delete Account then sign back in with the new name. (Deleting the account from your phone does not delete it from iCloud. Your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.)
If you created a new ID, you'll have to go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and turn all data you are syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off. When prompted choose to keep the data on your iPhone. (If you are syncing iWork documents with iCloud, also open your iWork apps and turn off iCloud syncing and choose to keep the documents on your phone.) After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Next, set up a new iCloud account using your other ID, then turn syncing for your data (contacts, etc.) back to On. When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload the data to your new account.
You won't lose any photos in your camera roll or photo library. If you have any photos in your photo stream that are over 30 days old that are not in your camera roll or saved on your computer, be sure to save these to the camera roll before deleting the account. To do so, open the photo stream album on your iPhone in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos you need to save to select them, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.

If all you did was rename your ID, you can go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted, then sign back in with your renamed ID. Deleting the account only deletes the account and any data you are syncing with iCloud from your phone, not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts, your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.
If, however, you are changing to a new account with a new ID, choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted. Then choose Merge when you sign into the new account and turn your iCloud syncing back on to upload your data to the new account.
Before deleting the account, save you photo stream photos to your camera roll (tap Edit, tap all the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll).

Hi it's me Chainnig again the guy that kept asking question last night alright so my next question is how do you change an Apple ID on and Ipad I went to and apple iPad help site that said it would change my Apple ID me and my mom currnet Apple ID which is the name of someone who lives with us so I tried to change mine but it wouldn't let me and then I tried to change it. thanks man i found that site you told me about but it says on there right now your Apple ID has b en created before you can use it we need to make sure that my new id name belongs to you check your email and look for a verification email from apple click on the verify now link and sign in with your new apple id and password so what I did was go in to my email using my old id and password but there was no email there so I did with the new ones and nothing happened I am reely confused right now this stuff is pretty foorgion to me and my mom and my dads out of town so he can't help when I click on my profile on this site it comes up with my new id can you pm me back as soon as possible and explain what this means thanks.

if you just want to change the apple id sign out in settings>icloud, settings>messages>send and recieve, settings>facetime, and settings>itunes and app store. Then sign into all of these locations with new apple id. ONLY PROBLEM WHEN DOING THIS WAY is when apps left on device from your apple id need updated they will require your apple id and password

Go to Settings > iCloud > Delete account, and Settings > iTunes and App Store > Apple ID > Log Out, and then login with the new Apple ID

Settings->iTunes and App Stores->Apple ID->Sign Out Sign in with another Apple ID.
However all Apps purchased with the previous ID will be forever tied to it and will always require it to update.
So if you plan on changing owners its better to wipe the iPad clean, and let the new owner set it up from scratch.
Settings->General->Reset->Erase All Content and Settings will put the iPad back to the way it was when it was first taken out of the box.

If you Create a NEW Apple ID...
It should be Noted that anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID
