HT1911 I changed my apple ID on my Ipad but the App Store window still shows my old ID when I elect to update my apps.  Unfortunately, I forgot my password and the email I used is no longer active.  How do I get the App store to recognize my new ID?

I do not want to delete and reinstall all of the apps.  How do I get the Apple App store to recognize my new Apple ID and apply it to all of my installed apps?

So I  am using an iPhone that was given to me and it has been restored to  factory defaults... However when I go to the AppStore I can still see  what the previous owner had downloaded and when I try to download that  app it gives me the message the OP had.
