Thanks for the reply. I did think that could be the case but then other books would also show up as apps on phone but not counted as an app. Maybe book apps downloaded from the app store work in this way whereas books bought from the ibooks app show in ibooks and not as apps.
I guess that would make sense, it must be because they are books but downloaded from the app store rather than the book store so they are visible as an app but don't actually get counted as an app.
Would you think that's the case too?

Why is my computer the only one that won't connect to our network?
I took my computer to a friends house for a few days and had no problems connecting to their Internet network. When I got home I tried to get on the Internet and it wouldn't work. My roommates were having no problems connecting but my computer kept saying that there was a new network configuration. I followed the directions it gave but it didnt work. I tried turning off my AirPort and turning it back on; restarting the router; restarting my computer. Nothing worked. Please help!
The WebSheet that appears when you join a captive network should eventually load the web site. However, if <https://1.1.1.1/> uses a self-signed certificate (or any certificate that can't be validated), there is a known issue that prevents WebSheet from loading the page.
To get around this, launch Safari and navigate to any web site. You should be redirected to <https://1.1.1.1/> again, at which point you can accept the self-signed certificate, authenticate, and then connect to the captive network. -

If you are searching within iTunes, all the Apps are for iDevices. To find Apps for the MacBook, you will need to search using the Mac App Store.

IBooks and podcasts won't sync between iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro
I have an iPad 2, an iPhone 5s and a MacBook Pro (Mavericks) - all are on the cloud and wifi sync, all permissions are there, settings are correct. The iBooks issue I had was between the MacBook and the iPad - I put some PDF files into iBooks on my MacBook and when I went to the iPad they were not there. Even after syncing, connecting directly to the MacBook via USB - nothing. They are there now, but I have no idea how that happened. I tried that a week ago.
This morning on my commute into work, I added a couple of podcasts to the Apple podcast app on my iPhone 5s. When I got into the office and went to the podcasts app on my iPad, they were not there. Even after syncing on wifi (I don't have my MacBook with me so I haven't tried direct syncing).
Am I misunderstanding how the wifi syncing works altogether? Or is my iPad the issue? Any help is appreciated!Hi vichochile,
If you are having an issue with syncing your new iPhone with the information that is in iCloiud (and on your other devices) we should make sure that iCloud is set up correctly on the iPhone. See this page for directions -

My IPAD said to update so I did, it shut down now all that appears is Itunes logo and and arrow with a plug

IOS 7: why uses data mobile to listen mp3 that are in my own iPhone?
This morning I wasted 119MB of data mobile listening mp3 music of my own iPhone. Why iOS 7 needs data mobile for that? Did not happens with the previous iOS version.
It is a bug? Anyone have the same problem?
Thanks and regards.Maybe you're right, but i think that it is a lot of data, for 4-5 hours of listen music at work this morning, about 90 songs that are repeating aleatory.
Obviously now I do not allow this kind of mobile data, but I think that is not a normal behaviour.
I wasted more than 20% of my total mobile data of the month in one morning and this hurts ;-) -
Why is Netflix the only site that won't work?
I am using Chrome but I've tried Safari as well. It has done this a couple times before and I cleared all my history and cookies and passwords, etc. and it worked again but now it's not working at all. I've shut down and restarted the browser and my computer but it's not changing anything. All it says is "no data received" after loading for a while.
My computer is fully updated. It's a MacBook Pro, I bought it in June 2011.

Does the Apple TV have an Internet connection when attempting to play the movie? If not, you may look to review knowledge base article http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304973 as this may be what you're encountering.

Again, why is Firefox(in all my systems) the only app that "invites", and returns amazon pings?
I use mostly Linux systems, and I can go online with other apps, but when I start using Firefox, my PCs start getting , and returning amazon pings? I hate amazon. I've installed Block Site, but it persist. Some of the Linux firewalls stop it, but some don't. WHY is there no way to block it at the browser??
How do you know that pings are happening? Is there any visible evidence of them? According to my about:config information, I have blocked 85 pings. I was not aware of any attempt at sending any.
I have these settings in my about:config window:
* browser.send_pings = false
* browser.send_pings.max_per_link = 1
* browser.send_pings.require_same_host = true

I am on a Win8.1 64 bit Toshiba laptop. When I go to www.deadfrontier.com to log in the page just stays white till I refresh it. Everything works fine while playing within the site. Once I am done playing or wish to play a different character, when I click the log out button it goes white. Till I refresh. But now that I think about it there is light blue bar at the top the screen that stays there the whole time during the action part of the game. Firefox is the only browsers that does this. It is just annoying as heck. One of the reasons I started to use Ff is the password saving worked better that all the other browsers. So when switching between characters Ff made things easy. Pretty soon I found myself using it all the time. Now I want it to keep working without having to refresh every time. I tried the safe mode thing but It was the same thing as the refresh. I hope that the info I have provided helps in solving this problem. Be a shame to let this new laptop go to waste. I am going to try the reset thing. I was hoping not to have to but read the folder saved with my info. I just can't see that being the problem either. Thank in advance. Dion

Why is iMovie the only app that sees my Canopus ADVC?
I'd like to do some audio recording through my Canopus ADVC 110. Yeah, I know, I could do it through the built-in audio in... but is that port really as good? Besides, what the heck did I buy this nice expensive box for, anyway?
But iMovie seems to be the only thing that it works with. I tried recording from Quicktime Pro, but all I get is a black screen, and no sound. And yes, I did select the ADVC as the video source, and DV audio as the audio source. No help.
Meanwhile, GarageBand doesn't seen to notice it, and even the Sound preferences panel doesn't acknowledge its existance as an audio source.
So what gives?That's definitely strange, kzmidge. I want a working phone in your hands though. I noticed you mentioned you received the suggestion to complete a reset. Did you already do that? Is it working again? Are you receiving an error message?
If you hesitated a little longer to complete the reset, you can try to place your phone into Safe Mode http://vz.to/rxg0ii and see if you can access mobile sites from your browser. This mode will stop 3rd party applications from running, so you won't be able to use the apps you mentioned but we may be able to narrow down the trouble in Safe Mode. If the mobile sites work, that means the trouble may be in a recently downloaded application and you may be able to avoid the reset my uninstalling some of your more recently installed applications. If it's still giving you trouble, the reset http://vz.to/18wzOCi is the next best step.

How do i remove the Tips app and the Health app that apple added to my iphone on the last update? Update 8.0.2? I didn't want these added to my phone. I have to remove apps every time there is an update. After the phone is updated I reinstall the apps I removed. After 8.0,2 there was not enough room for me to reinstall my apps because they added the Tips app and the health app. How do I remove them? When you hold your figure on the apps they added, X's pop up on all of the apps i've installed, but not on the ones that come on the iPhone and the ones that they added on this last update. Please help.

Oh, knock off the fearmongering. None of those apps are spyware. Health stores all of its data on the phone. It will only back it up to your computer if you do an encrypted back up. The only data it collects on its own are steps, stairs and distance traveled. Anything else in it is information you've explicity authorized it to collect from anothr app you've installed. You're not required to put anything in Passbook, Podcasts, iBooks or Newstand. -
Pls take note that my IPad 3 used to find my printer HP wireless D110. The only thing that I did was to update to IOS 7. Do you think this is the reason why my iPad cannot find my wireless printer?

Third party accessories no longer supported... All my charging cables were great before the latest ios update, why?
I don't know which accessories you have, but the 'better' ones are usually made with Apple's cooperation. Stuff from Targus, Kensington, Belkin and the like.
Ive used a belkin and Onn lightning cable with my iPod with no error messages.
You SHOULD be able to keep using the accessories and just ignore the warning. But I say should because that may not be the case with everything.
The issue stems from various incidents involving shoddy third party accessories malfunctioning - sometimes quite spectacularly. But the headlines never read 'cheap knock off cable shorted out' they read 'iphone burst into flames'
