HT1918 Change Country for Apple ID

I need to change my country for my Apple ID, but I have a balance of .47 cents. It tells me I have to clear the balance before I can change the country, but I can't find a way to do this. Can't buy much for .47c! Can anyone tell me how to clear this?

If you need to update your country and billing address on your account then you should be able to do it directly on your phone by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then tapping on 'view apple id' on the popup - you should then be able to update your payment method (you can't use a credit card issued by a bank in a different country), your region, and your billing address.
Or you can do it via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes

Changed country on Apple ID, now unable to buy from App Store!

Hi all,
As many other users, I was using multiple Apple IDs for a long time, confused about which on to use when and so on.
I decided to tidy myself up, by focusing on one Apple ID and to use for all programs, and updating my correct address and facts and so on.
When I first created this Apple ID I lived in Hong Kong, and now I wanted to change the address to my Swedish one.
After doing so, the country is changed when I log in to my Apple ID, but not when I try to use App Store. It still recommends me the Hong Kongese software and apps on hot lists and top lists.
Worse still, I have to put in my payment info again. When entering the same Visa card as I used before, App Store will say:
The payment card you entered is not valid in Hong Kong. Please provide a valid payment card for Hong Kong.
Hence, by changing country for my Apple ID, I am effectively banned from using both App Store and iTunes Store.
How is this? Any thoughts on what to do?
(It was over 24 hours since I changed the information, so it should have been registred/updated by now)

Thanks a lot. I didn't know where to change this info, and found it to be in App Store --> Store --> View my account.
It can not be done by logging in at one's Apple ID in a web browser, which is a bit strange.

If you can't remember your current password then you should be able to get it reset via this page : http://iforgot.apple.com
If you know your current password then on your phone you can try tapping on your id in Settings > Store and you might be able to change it on your account's screen, or on your computer's iTunes you can log into your account via the Store > View Account menu option and change it on there

I understand you changed the password for your Apple ID and now can't log into the iTunes Store on the iPad.
Have you gone to the Settings and logged out and back in again?

3. Tap View Apple ID.
4. Enter your password.
5. Go to Country/Region in the popup window to change to the desired store.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Click on your account name in the top right corner of the iTunes store in the iTunes application on your computer, enter your password and click the "view account" button. Navigate to the Apple ID summary where you have the option to "change country or region".
In order to change your location, you will need a credit card registered to an address in the location you are trying to change to.
You cannot change your location if you have credit on your account, if you are unable to spend your credit and leave a balance of zero, contact Apple, which you can do through iTunes Store Support.

Change country - same Apple ID

There are four things that I do not understand about the problems faced when changing countries (France to the UK in my case) with the same Apple ID.
1. I understand from this site and others that I am obliged to repurchase my apps.
Why? - when I move, I don't leave everything behind (furniture etc) and repurchase?
2. I can view all my previous purchases in the iTunes Store for my iOS devices: when updates are downloaded, I notice the purchase date changes to the update date. So it seems that I CAN take my apps with me after all (... though I assume if I were to delete one of them I would have to repurchase? Is that how it works?)
3. The above does not apply to the Mac App Store: only purchases made AFTER I changed countries show up.
4. In the Mac App Store, older apps not in my purchase list sometimes won't update: my Mac says that an update is available but the 'install' it is greyed out. But other older apps update just fine.
I do not understand what is going on and would appreciate some advice, please:
A. why is there no general refund policy if the apps won't update when I change country? Do I have to contact each app provider and ask them for a refund in turn?
B. does anyone know which apps upgrade OK and which ones don't under the cirtcumstances described? - is there any general rule to tell me?

I would like to know something about changing country, because I have a problem with my account I can't change the country because I have to spend NZD 0,75. I can't find something to buy with this amount and I really want to change the country because I am in FRANCE. Please, how can I make it?? Anybody could help me.

If you can, enter in a credit card from your original country temporarily so you can buy something that costs more than the balance remaining on your account and thereby use up all the remaining credit. If you cannot or do not wish to put in a credit card, go here:

and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store. They can probably clear your remaining balance for you.

Can't change country for account

I recently moved from the UK, and though my cards are still attached to banks in there, they now have billing addresses in the US. So, I've dutifully gone off to my iTunes account to change the address details to my US billing address -- but it doesn't work!
Or it doesn't work all the way .... When I go to change country, selecting the US, I follow the onscreen instructions to change my card billing addresses. But after clicking "Done", I get an error saying my account was changed while I was editing it (errrr, yeah ....) and my details could not be saved (wha ...?).
Except some of the account details are saved: I've now got a US street address and phone number, but the town, post code, and (all importantly) country are still the old UK info. This is very interesting, but not very helpful. Nevertheless, no matter what I do, I can't seem to get the account details finally switched over to my US address.
Any thoughts? Is this some bizarre insoluble problem caused by having a UK card with a US billing address? (That would also be interesting, but very annoying!)

A couple things I'd like to mention since last posting.
First off, I called Apple again about my issue to see if they were getting close to fixing it. During the conversation the rep i spoke to suggested a work around. Basically, she pointed me to go back to the myinfo site and at the bottom where it says "Don't have an Apple ID?" link to click that and create a new one. So i did and set it all up as US (instead of Canada which it wasn't letting me change from). I went to iTunes and logged into the US store with my new ID and it of course pops up a window saying to verify the info and such and enter your form of payment(or select none). By doing this I was able to authenticate my iPhone and get it all up and working.
Now my initial concern with setting up a new Apple ID was that the music I had previously purchased with my other account while living in Canada would no longer play because I'd have to authenticate the new ID. So I tested it. When you download a song with a different ID and then click play, it does ask you to authenticate but I am still able to play my older songs too. They also all sync up to the iPhone just fine and all play just fine. So right now it's my recommended work around.
Little problem though. while I was able to make a new ID with a US address that showed up properly in iTunes, it still would not accept my credit card. My credit card is a Canadian card but I have changed it to a US billing address. iTunes, however, knows this and when you enter it in the payment options and click ok, it tells you that you must enter a valid US credit card. So all im doing now is buying iTMS gift cards with my credit card and then adding them to my new Apple ID when want to purchase something.

What password? If you are referring to Apple ID you can't change that on Apple TV, it would need to be done via iTunes.

Changing country for Itunes Stores purposes

I changed country. I used live in France where my account was created where I still have a credit of 0.55 Euros. When I want to change country the system ask me to spend this little money, as you can image, nothing can be bought with it. Therefore I find myself in a loop. How can be reset this account? I do not loosing 0.55 Euros.
I currently live in Chile.

Changing country does not let me proceed because I seem to have an unfinished season on a TV show. How do I find out which season that is ? I cannot see anything unfinished in my list of tv shows

HelloI was hoping someone could help me. I screened shot a document from my school's web page and I saved on desktop. My instructor wants me to send the document to her as a saved word document and I am not able to. I submitted the screen shots but she is unable to view the printing is too small.
